Went on a field trip and man was it interactive! We got to touch jellies, sharks, stingrays, and more. The shark mythbusters educational program was interactive with dry star boards, humor, and science! The staff is professional, flexible, and knowledgeable. Utterly happy teacher with amazed and happy students.

I did like the ability to bypass the line and pick up tickets I already bought on line but it was waaaaay too crowded. I'm surprised they let so many people in at a time. Seemed like a fire hazard. While there was an area for stroller parking it wasn't being utilized as it was very difficult to get around due to the large number of strollers in small areas. the exhibits were nice but the amount of people made it hard to actually see majority of them. There was a nice bird exhibit as well but it was an additional $3. After just paying $29 to barely see the fish I wasnt about to plonk down more money and not see the birds either. I think they need to work on their crowd control to make it more enjoyable for the price tag.

Had a really nice time.. People who work here are so nice, friendly and well trained in their areas. The knowledge they have to talk and teach on certain areas was great. Really enjoyed my time there.. Great place to take the family and they validate your parking so it's only 8.00.

We loved this aquarium! It had so much to see and do! We especially loved all the touch pools and sea lion shows. We could stay there all day. It was my 3 year olds favorite part of our vacation

Beautiful venue. It was extremely busy during our visit over Labor Day. If you want to have more time to explore go early in the morning and during an off season. Staff was pleasant and well informed.

Fun and pretty museum! It's not as big as other musuems I've been to like Monterey Bay or Kyoto Museum in Japan nor do they have that extensive of creatures in comparison but it's not bad for something local and accessible. It's still a fun experience overall.

The Aquarium featured lots of interesting aquatic animals. The sea otters were easily trained and long lived up to 21 years in captivity.
Kids had fun petting stingrays.
There many types of fishes. Sharks and even a Moray eel and many types of jelly fish and sea horses.
Fun place to visit and learn.

I love going to the Aquarium of the Pacific. I've been waiting months for the new Pacific Visions to open. It was really cool and interesting. It was definitely worth the wait. I highly recommend seeing it.

Took our young son to the Aquarium of the Pacific. He had a ball. Seeing all the animals he hears about in songs and see in books. Watching his excitement of the giant Grubers. To the sharks and rays. All the way down to the jellyfish and seahorses. Still too small of the interactive touch environment. Still loved it. Bring hats and sunscreen. Also random. No more straws. So be prepared.

This has always been my favorite aquarium on the West Coast. Tons of always changing exhibits, hands on activities and all kinds of other fun stuff for families to experience. I have been coming since I was young and now I bring my kids. Ask about the Zoo and Aquarium combo ticket. We purchase those every time we go and it's not much more than the single ticket price.

Though the tickets for all different age groups (those 3-11, adults and seniors) were a bit pricy, the experience at the aquarium was definitely worth it. There was a wide variety of exhibitions to visit that displayed almost all types of sea creatures and there were many different parts of the aquarium to admire. I recommend taking the family to this place, as it s appealing to all different age groups. When I visited the aquarium it was also noticeably cleaner than other places that I ve been too, which is definitely a plus. The staff was very helpful and kind as well, and the food was delicious and at a good price. The aquarium s proximity to all the other attractions in the city of Long Beach make it a prime spot to those wanting to explore more in the area.

Nice but was disappointed about the number of exhibits for the money for $100 for 3 people for just a couple hours was redecilious. Expecilly on the coast. I would re omend this place for kids. Lots of hands on exhibits. I would not spend the money again

Wondering where to go on a day date?

I've lived in the area all my life. And for the first time I finally went. My pictures do absolutely no justice. I went around 4 on a weekday. Not packed. Few kids. Lots of nice things to look at and things to learn. So if you're wondering "Where the hell am I gonna take this girl?" I suggest The Aquarium of the Pacific. Places to eat are very close by. Nice views. Nice people. And parking close by.

Great fun, had a blast; took the gf and her son, who is four going on twenty-five. So we had discounted tickets, thus can't comment on prices normally paid for what you get.. But ours, being $15ea were above and beyond well worth it. We stayed from about noon to close around 6pm, and we never experienced any stagnant time, from walking through the upper and lower viewing aquariums, each one enjoyable, both to try and spot all the different regular and exotic fish, as well as other aquatic life and plants in the tanks. And to read about each ones inhabitants on the fact plaques next to the respective tanks. However the most enjoyable segments of the tour were the outside areas, including the several different shark and stingray/Manaray tanks, where anyone, including my gf's four year old son, could stoop down into the tank and pet the fish as they swam by...That's literally pet several different types of sharks...To a four year old that's not something easily forgotten; coupled with that too, the staff assigned to the respective hands on tanks were very knowledgeable and friendly, sharing about the different individual fish swimming about and their differing traits..i.e. this shark is Berry, the black tipped shark, who is a lazy one, but the biggest shark we have..etc.. This Mana ray is Steve the largest animal we have here, but a total whimp, even to lil guppy fish... Made it very enjoyable to younger audience. Finally regarding outside attractions the live bird cage is a must do, where u can purchase sweet liquified bird feed in plastic cup, that you hold upon entering avery and the birds will literally come land on you and feed; they're not harmful but can seem aggressive with so many present and just your one cup...lol... Also memorable experience for kiddos... Very enjoyable day, we packed our lunch and went outside for about hour to eat, which is nice too, as surrounding area includes some grassy knolls by water, and a lighthouse you can walk over to, say at lunch or end of day..Will definitely visit again one day soon... P.S. a tip.. If u park in structure next to aquarium.. don't forget to have aquarium validate it before they close and u leave for day, brings parking cost down from $15 to $8/the day...

Great Place for the family, I have been quite a few times in the past, from Short visits to whale watching. This last trip I was able to experience their Night Dive Event. It was phenomenal! They had some of the most amazing food trucks out in the courtyard. They served drinks and had live music. I have to give it up to AOTP this was the BEST time I have ever had in an aquarium. I was more than happy to donate once inside...

Way too many people and way too few exhibits. It's difficult to see much here since a lot of the exhibits are fairly small, and the layout is really rather confusing. Add hundreds of people with strollers (including us), and it's like rush hour traffic on I-5 right before Christmas.

We went on a Monday, wasn t too crowded, staff was very helpful and educated us on the animals. I loved the bird area! The petting area for the sting rays and filter feeders was also nice. I liked how many staff were available to keep the influx of handsy kids and adults who didn t pay attention to them going. Visiting from Dallas, I had a fun time.

It has definitely changed a lot since I last came here when I was 12. A return was set in motion and I came here with a friend and we absolutely enjoyed it! We unfortunately missed the Bird petting outside and the Jellyfish Petting as well Nooooo T . T

But we were able to do everything else, and I must say, my favorite part, was interacting with the staff working here. The staff are honest, and absolutely bright and very knowledgeable. They handle the animals with so much respect and joy, and ensure how to educate the public in how we ought to conserve and protect our environment and the wildlife living in it. My second part, was in the very beginning. I got a manicure from a special kind of shrimp! The staff told me how it would clean the dead skin cells and other things from your hands and the experience was so cool!! The girls were super super nice and funny, definitely a memorable moment! The third best part were the penguins and jellyfish! Watching jellyfish is such a therapeutic thing to do, especially with the music they make. And seeing the penguins, will turn anyone into a child again. Highly loved the Seal show as well! It was funny and cool!!

Something I recommend is bringing your ticket with you from parking so you can get it validated inside, before you leave back to your car. Once you have it validated, then you go to the machine, pay it and can leave peacefully. I also suggest bringing a thin sweater, as some places get really really cold! Lastly, I would suggest bringing a portable charger. Some sections, your phone can not get signal and it will drain your battery mad fast.

I can't wait to come back again and be like a kid again!!

We had a really good time here. Definitely not more impressive than a some of the other aquariums I've been to but not any worse either. We spent a few hours here and if I were a local I would come back alone and spend more time just sitting and watching except I probably wouldn't want to pay that much regularly. My husband and I were visiting from the west coast and spent a few hours here. What I thought was a little offense was the $11 price tag on a glass bottle of beer. Seemed a little douchey to me. Like, not really necessary but whatever. You kind of expect to ripped off at the places like that. I thought the gift shop was full of stuff that I could get elsewhere. For example, I found bags that I sell in my own store. I would have liked to see more aquarium specific stuff. The clothing was no good, for women almost everything was pink and had lettering that was generic and probably sold in any beach store. I ended up not finding anything to take as a souvenir. The exhibits were fine except the sea lions and otters seemed to be "pacing" and in VERY small habitats. I would have preferred to see less overall and larger areas for them. They all seemed restless and bored and swam the same track the whole time we were there. Other than that, we had a great time.

This was a fun place. Good handling of COVID-19 precautions without making you feel like you can't have fun. The displays are beautiful and they have a great apartment of animals. My little nephew has a great time. Will be excited to return again.

The variety of animals for the price point cannot be beat. This is a place for anyone, from those who want to go just visit animals to families looking to get out with kids. As a continued annual member, the aquarium is always getting better and better, and they bring excellence and conservation to Southern California. Always a must visit.
