I love the aquarium. Only negative is all the schools that visit during the day, on weekdays. The adults that help each group are usually rude and have no concept of other people around them besides the 10ish kids in their group. My 1 year old daughter as basically been run over more than once.
Beside that and the extreme amount of normal people there on fri/sat/sun....its fun, informative, interactive and they have good food in the cafe upstairs.
I wish I could have gotten there earlier in the day to see all of the presentations. I enjoyed the touch encounters the most. I also didn't realize some of the exhibits were outside but that you could come back inside the building to see the rest of the exhibits so I missed seeing a few things before the exhibits closed. But it was still en enjoyable experience.
Yes, it's a tourist trap and yes, it's expensive for what it is, BUT you can almost always get some kind of deal and this aquarium is very cool for what it is--a small aquarium. Go during the off season when it's not packed with tourists and put some of your favorite music on your iPod while watching fish swimming around and above you.
Staff an facility are great! My family and I had an amazing time
It could be better, very messi, stinky and desorganize.
Great place to take family, friends, or even a date. I highly reccomend getting tickets to the once a month Night Dive where they have live talent and multiple open bars. The atmosphere is great during the day and it's so much more fun at the night dives!!
Very cool, educational, and fun. The staff are great very kind and knowledgeable. I really enjoyed the sensory tanks where you could touch the animals. Also the have washing stations were great, something I wish all aquariums had. The moon jellies were awesome as were there otters. Very cool place to visit.
Staff were super friendly and very knowledgeable. The tickets were a fair price and there was a lot of great things to see. There were some great exhibits where you could touch some sting rays, horseshoe crabs, and even some sharks. Staff member Maura was awesome and spent some time talking with a younger member of our group all about the rays and sharks in this exhibit. He was very excited to speak with someone so knowledgeable. I would highly recommend visiting this excellent aquarium.
Nice place to spend an afternoon. Parking was terrible, but there was a convention going on at the convention center which congested the entire area. If you can, take public transport.
Amazing experience. My family and I went there and it was great. They dont have a ton of animals, but its just enough. The kids were so happy they got to touch the fish and sting rays. The staff was great and seemed energetic and friendly to the guests. Overall really great would come again.
Crowded on the weekends but kids love the sharks, penguins, sea lions, otters, and ithet pacific fish.
Clean facility. Great place to learn and explore. My kids ages 2-9 loved it! Our favorite things were being able to pet the rays, starfish, urchins and sharks, let the birds land on us, and all the different jelly fish to see. Plus, they had workers coming around with a few other items we could see and handle.
This is a nice place to visit and learn and just to get a piece of mind. I'll be back
We had an amazing time we had back stage experience it was some much fun see what goes on behind scene all the staff were so helpful explaining about shark's fish and so forth .
Plan a visit soon.
This would be a great place to visit if you could go back in time, when it was much less likely it was crowded. Otherwise, like most things in LA, unless you don't mind being elbow to elbow with people that are likely to push you out of the way, you won't enjoy coming. It has very cramped spaces at times, which makes it difficult as you horde through there with hundreds of other people.
Although I loved the experience of seeing the various sea life, I was disappointed that some of the elevators were not working. I have COPD and carry oxygen and was with my 16 month grandson. Nonfunctional elevators made my trip more laborious. Elevators should always function for individuals with disabilities.
A nice aquarium with a nice structure. Even the parking is very affordable at a flat fee of 8$. The exhibitions are very well described.
I had heard about the place from a friend. It wasnt as amazing as I thought it would be but it was still a very nice aquarium. They have shows through the day with the animals. Very informational and a close up as some feedings of the animals.
Everything is expensive. Crazy expensive. But it is cool and I liked the place
We had a wonderful time. Lots of amazing sea life to sea. Great place to take the kids. Lots of learning opportunity!
The sea otters are a blast I'd give five stars if they had planters in the grand hall with local native plants
You was not there? Take your children and go to aquarium. You will meet sharks, frogs, pinguins, geleyfish and more...
It was fun but it wasn't as fun as I thought it would be
I was actually there for my cousin wedding after hour. It's a beautiful great venue for special event.
Had a very refreshing experience at this amazing place! Must visit!
Small aquarium but always so crowded when we go. My daughter is at a great age to enjoy it and she has enough patience for it's size but I'm originally from Chicago and the Shed aquarium is hard to beat.
Excellent and amazing experience! First of all, the staff are very helpful and very nice! I booked online and when I arrived at the aquarium I wanted to change my ticket and they helped me within few seconds I was all set! Also, the aquarium itself is very generous with information and displays! You will spend good time inside I guarantee that. The shark feeding was very nice and informative. My ticket was a package of aquarium entrance plus whale watching on a boat but you can also get a different package if you want. If you visit LA then this place is highly recommended specially if you have kids.
Wonderful place to learn and enjoy time with family
The place looks in bad shape everything is dusty old videos really needs an upgrade not with digital screen that is niot real
$61 is pretty pricey considering you can get through the whole thing in like 2 hours. HOWEVER took my kids for a family vacation and they had a blast! They loved seeing all the fish and other sea life! Great place to stop at on family vacations! Will go again!
Great hands-on activities for the entire family, sea lion and diver shows, along with ecology lessons throughout the exhibits.
It has some good exhibits but it's easy to see it all in a short amount of time... I recommend doing the whale watching for a full experience.
Wonderful. Meraviglioso. Place of high interest with lots of things to see and to do. Very well thought also for children and families.
The Aquarium of the Pacific is a great local aquarium. We try to go at least once a year and each time has been fun. Weekends and holidays it can get a bit crowded so I would recommend trying to go in the off-season or on a weekday.
Excellent fun and educational place for children of 1-14 years old, and for everyone with curiosity about the ocean. Great place to spend a day with family.
Love the touch tide pools and the penguins and shark exhibuts
I absolutely love going here! I love seeing all the creatures of the Pacific ocean. The fish the sharks and the huge whale that hangs in the main salon are positively my favorite things to see. If you have the chance to see it I would recommend going!
It was fun, not what I expected, I thought it was larger and I would rather go during the week when it's less crowded, I would recommend taking your children they will LOVE it mine did !!!
Had a great time with my kid's school. Educational and fun!
My kids love this place. Lots of interactive displays
Kids loved it, parking was a bit of a slow process.I was expecting more
Great experience. Sea world is wonderful.
I had an awesome partner with me. Thanks
Always enjoy strolling through the Aquarium of the Pacific! Even when it's busy there is still lots to see.
Have so many memories here got the pass when I was pregnant with my son we would come every other weekend then after I had my son got the pass agin and he loves it he though that was Disneyland lol now he s 5 and we have a 1 year old and planing on regretting the passes for her to enjoy it
Welcoming atmosphere close to shopping and other restaurants, it was a great experience parking wasn't an issue. Be sure to check the time frame you choose to attend to receive a discounted entry. Great place for the family.
Loved it. Nice place go during the week. Not so packed. Although needs more workers explaining all sea creatures would be nice to learn a little more. Rather then looking.
Highly recommended!! I've came here so many times already and I can actually say it's worth my money. Great for children it's family friendly. Staff was very nice and welcoming. Sea lions perform amazing tricks and scubadivers get inside the deep tanks as well. Each tank has a nice unique layout ^_^ You can physically touch a variety of different corals including anemones, starfish, sea-urchins and can also touch stingrays, small sharks and even jellyfish too! There was birds including penguins and also a parakeet place inside where you could buy a cup of sweet nectar for $4 and the parakeets go crazy for the food lol they literally fly and land on your hand and eat the food right out your cup. The gift shop has affordable cute things. The place is clean as well as the bathrooms. You can tell the staff really dedicate their time in the place the fish are well taken care of.
Great place for the family and to create ever lasting memories.
I love this place and the area. Great collection, but a bit pricey even with a senior discount. If you need to, the Metro Blue line is two blocks away.
This is a great aquarium for younger and older kids. You can touch small sharks, manta rays, jelly fish, etc., in the touching pond. There are a lot of exhibits for the kids. For younger kids, there is a little playground there, which they can enjoy a lot. All around, this is a great place to go to with kids. It is in a convenient area to go eat after you are done with the aquarium or to walk around and see the boats docked. They validate parking, so parking is only like $8 or $9. If you are a Kaiser employee or a AAA member, go to their website and they offer discounts.
Our kids had a great time here. There are lots of indoor and outdoor places to observe the aquatic animals. I wish we had known about the water spouts so we could have dressed the kids appropriately, but it was definitely appreciated on a hot day. We were there about an hour, but could have spent more time there for sure.
Nice place for younger children who are obsessed with marine life
Beautiful and wonderful place I loved it and I've been there a few times. I would definitely go back it's always something good to see I love aquarium life I love fish I love oceans I love it all so it's a definitely wonderful place to see.
Great place for an acquatic family adventure. Wonderful exhibits and beautiful species. Many touch pools to interact and feel.
Great display and fun activities. Recommend family activity
Some awesome tanks of very different marine wildlife. Very fun experience.
Gets crowded on weekends but definitely a happy place for the kids. They love petting the stingrays and jellyfish
Great place for children but also for grownup to discover the sea environnement.
Great place to visit in Long Beach. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. After you can grab food at Roscoe's.
They have alot of different big tanks. And several touch areas I thought was cool. Plenty of places around food wise with restaurants, some are pricey. Shopping outlet stores across the bridge if you want to do some shopping. For being such a small place, we still enjoyed our time their.
We gad a really great time! My kiddo was really excited to see all the sea life and the parrots! So fun!
We had a fantastic day. My boys loved all the exhibits and animals. We saw a couple of the shows and went into the 3D theatre. Everything was great. My only reason for giving 4 stars instead of 5 is the cost. For myself and two children it was $70 just to get in and that was using an online discount which gave us $5 each off! Then to feed the lorikeets it was another $4, to feed the rays it was $5. As a snack my boys wanted a crossaint, 2 of those and a muffin cost me $19! That's ridiculously expensive in my view. The day was extremely expensive, especially once you add parking, gasoline and food but we did have a good time.
Current renovations are underway to make the Aquarium of the Pacific even more amazing! What can you expect? A large assortment of marine life and knowledgeable people ready to teach your young ones about the ocean! There's a large whale in the main lobby, touch pools, and a huge aquarium to gaze at all the fish! Parking is located in the structure next door with lots of dining options walking distance away from the aquarium.
it was a very fun experience especially that we got in for free, gosh i can't even remember the last time I've been to the aquarium. Eo many things to do like touch stingray's and sharks. One thing i wish was changed was the temperature of the water upstairs on the stingray deck. The one on the 1st floor had warm water which was quite pleasant. Other than that it was very cool.
The aquarium is really nice and also has some non aquatic exhibits as well. Parking is easy in the garage for $8.
Very educational and a wide variety of exhibits. I went with extended family and all ages enjoyed themselves.
The sealions are not there. Would have liked a heads up.
Went for my friend's wedding there. Beautiful and unique experience.
