This is a great place to bring the kids, of all ages, to interact with marine life. We brought our 4.5 yr old and 1.5 year old & they both loved it. It's worth the price, cheaper than most other similar parks. It's all cheaper if you get tickets using military, or AAA. The gift shop prices are of course overpriced, but they have a clearance section where I have found cool coffee mugs & t-shirts. We typically spent about 3 hours here.
This. Place. Rocks. I can't stress enough how awesome this aquarium is! The facility is beautiful and well maintained by some of the sweetest employees in the world. The animals are just so cool and they have everything from parakeets to moon jellyfish. There are a huge number of touch tanks for those who like to get close and personal (remember, two finger touch!). The cafeteria has a nice selection of basic chow to fill your stomach and has a perfect view of the seals! I honestly could go on for far too long, just get a membership and visit this amazing gem yourself and you'll see what I mean!!!
It's the outdoor areas open only on 9/12/20 the touch pools were open and we were able to feed the lorikeets and jellyfish. It wasn't too crowded and they had hand washing stations and hand sanitizer everywhere. I can't wait until it's completely reopened.
This was my first time...and after hearing so many friends say how great it is, i had to try iy out. The grounds were not what they portray on commercials. It's very misleading. Then it was overly crowded. There were so many schools there for a field trip that it was impossible to see any of the aquariums. We tried to get up close but the kids were running wild that my toddler kept getting pushed aside by other kids. We paid full price to watch other people's kids have fun. There needs to be a limit to the amount of schools they have in one day at the same time.
Nice place to visit and take the kids. The food and snacks are cheaper upstairs and they have a good variety.
Such a Magical place. Great for everyone of all ages. The exhibits are wonderfully fun and educational, lots of interactive touch tanks and open glass viewing tanks. Excellent Cafe options as well.
Great exhibits, excellent staff, many many wonderful things to see here!
It's not as big as some aquariums, but it has a great diversity of environments and a lot of important information on Southern California ecosystems. I got to touch a jellyfish and if no one catches you, you can swim with the sea lions (this may not be legal). Great outdoor area, interactive exhibits, and a great variety make this a world-class aquarium, and it's still improving!
I will be honest... we come for the otters. Sure there are other fish but my wife will sit and watch the otters for hours if you let her.
Parking is a bit of a pain and check before you go there is not an event going on in the area that will cause a detour.
Great place to take your kids, that said if you go be prepared for large crowds. Weekdays are best. Good clean fun
Great exhibits. Parking is easy and convenient. The surrounding restaurants, shops and walkways make it great to spend the whole day down there. Kids loved it. Friendly staff. And the prices in the gift shops are very reasonable.
First of all I would like to say, I will never return to this place. The employees, staff , or what ever they might be, are horrible, ever question that I asked pertaining to there establishment was answered with I don't know, im not sure. That is unsatisfactory, poor people skills. And the food is garbage along with there prices. 4 bucks for a can soda really they can shovel that can where the sun don't shine
A wonderful evening at the Aquarium of the Pacific in celebration of the 20th Anniversary and all of our Charter Members!
I bought tickets online and they printed the wrong date on the tickets. I tried calling for two hours with the only number they claim to have only for them to tell me that the line is busy the entire time. Really? Two hours it's busy? I've called this place TWENTY-ONE times with no answer, no call back, nothing but the infuriating sound of the line disconnecting and an automated voice saying that the line is busy.
My fourth visit. Lots of construction, once the construction is done, 5 of 5. VERY CLEAN.
The parking was a hassle. But aside from that the family had a great time! My Google photo is actually of the day I went to the Aquarium. Lol
This place is awesome! They have a wide variety of fish here and so much to learn about them. They also have a bird exhibit which is super cool too. They have different touch pools where the kids can all go and interact with the aquatic life. At the entrance they have the scuba diving show, its a really big tank and they teach both kids and grown ups so much about the fishes. I was let a bit down on the size of the aquarium though i expected to see bigger fish and a few more exhibits but with what they have they kind of made up for it i deffinately loved the experience of coming here in my overall opinion.
Wonderful prices. My family and I went on a packed day. It was still fun. They also offer deals that contain behind the scenes tours, whale watching and queen mary tours.
Fun educational place to take my niece and nephews!
Lots to see but always very crowded. Too many large groups even during the week. Hard to check out exhibits.
Great place to spend time with the family. Lots of fun things for the kids to do here. Thank you Aquarium of the Pacific.
We are members and live in Glendale. It's worth the drive.
Amazing loved the area. The tank for sharks was my favorite.
Great service and traffic be smooth...Thank you for all the help on father's day
Very enjoyable and educational. Better to arrive early. The cruise was fun, although we didn't see any whales, but we saw a lot of dolphins and other animals.
Absolutely love coming here! Its so unbelievable to see the life forms that accompany us on this planet which we will never come in contact with. The sea lion show was the best part of our day...the sea otter show was the low point. All the jellyfish and other tanks are absolutely beautiful and really well done. The only aquarium I have ever been to which I enjoyed more than this one is the one in Monterey, CA. Dont miss out on a fabulous experience, especially if you can find a Groupon or Goldstar discount.
Loved interaction with the parakeets in the aquarium.watching penguins, seals, dolphins were a treat to our eyes.
Was pretty crowded but generally a nice aquarium the scuba diving show was great!
Such a cool place. I have been going here since it opened and just love the atmosphere. Its a great place for the whole family.
Weekends aren't the best time to go. Have to wait in line or for crowds to lighten up to get your turn at certain stations. And taking pictures with just you and your family is almost impossible since it gets crowded.
Overall, a great place to take your kids for fun and learning.
Make sure to bring comfy shoes.
Snacks and accomodations when bringing your kiddos.
If you end up dining at a nearby restaurant they might just give you a parking voucher.
All sorts of amazing exhibits, including areas where you can actually touch sea creatures. Great for kids of all ages.
didn't enjoy it at all! even my kids were bored and it costed me $120 for 2 adults and 3 kids just to be bored! Should have taken them to Magic Mountain instead. Even the L.A. Zoo was funner! need I say more?
Great place to spend half a day or maybe a full day if you go slow. Tons and tons of fish tanks to look at that are amazing. You can even pet the sharks here.
A very interesting place with a lot of things to see and learn !
Pretty cool aquarium. Big with lots of exhibits. Takes a solid 2 hours to see everything at a decent pace. Best things were lots of sharks, petting rays, watching seals and sea lions, puffins, and penguins. The line for tide pools was way too long, and they dedicated way too much room for the salmon exhibit and a display of rainfall in the city.
My kids love this aquarium! So much to see and learn
THIS place inspires love & wonder for children & adults alike! I've been bringing my grandkids here to teach them self soothing since I had to carry them in! Now i cant hardly keep up with them! Its not a big place- doesn't need to be! Aquarium of the Pacific is also FULL of dedicated staff who totally get that this is really a magical place where kids LEARN lessons that will inspire passion all of their life long Aquarium of the Pacific~~~the SEITHER'S LOVE YOU
If you're traveling in the Long Beach area, this place is a perfect 2-3 hour detour with the family. Exhibits are always in great shape and they don't make overt attempts at selling you merch every 2 seconds. Clean park and the perfect size for young families. Minus one star because building out a new space and putting a theater in it is dumb. Between a theater and real animals, I'll take the critters... Especially when I'm trying to show the kids the world beyond their bubble... The theater is just another screen.
Good place to take you kids. I loved the set up inside with the big tanks and the variety of sea creatures. My kids loved it. The ticket personnel and the front door workers not very friendly.
I loved going on a Thursday afternoon. Had the place to ourselves (hardly anyone there).
Had a great time at the aquarium learned out some facts about sea creatures
This was a very interactive Aquarium. There is something for the whole family. It was nice getting a veteran discount as well.
So much fun seeing all the sealife. Crowded on Saturdays but still a great place to spend a few hours. Recommend the membership to fully enjoy the trip and visit on less busier days. My son and I enjoy getting there early and having lunch afterwards.
This place is great for families. Its not too big though. The other thing is you have to fight for prking or pay $12 to $20 for valet parking at one of the restaurants. The staff there is very friendly and knowledgeable.
Very expensive for what it offers. Nice but not great. More for kids than adults. There are much better aquariums around the country.
A wonderful place filled with beatiful fish and a great learning experience with marine life. I would recommend bringing kids along.
Absolutely amazing. A must for families and friends. Go here and enjoy
Clean and friendly environment for the family! Plenty of interactive exhibits
GREAT aquarium
Take the family here, lots of interactive attractions, safe operations during COVID. 6/5
Great place to visit. We took my 4 month old and he loved it. However, we went during memorial weekend and it was super packed!
It was amazing I've lived in California most of my life, I moved away came for a visit. This was my first time ever going was very educational and I was very impressed.
What a great place to go and learn and see the wonderful fish
So nice , I would recommend anyone to go check it out
It was some what fun I think it should be less because it's only four area and it's all the same animals
One of the many must visit places in greater LA, highly recommend.
Which to visit....Cabrillo or Pacific? Hmmm. A nice aquarium bringing a collection of sea life from the Pacific Ocean to Long Beach. Try to find discounted tickets and enjoy the day in and around the aquarium. This is a nice facility that offers plenty to experience. You can get fatigued by the Pacific Ocean though, the sea life is less colorful than the tropical...but very educational. Here's a tip: check out the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium. I found it highly educational and fun. I found myself spending more time there learning about each exhibit as compared to the AoP.
I was pleasantly surprised with this aquarium and really enjoyed my visit. I've been to some great aquariums around the country and didn't expect too much at this Long Beach facility. However, the aquarium is very well done and informative. I especially enjoyed the jellyfish and the informative talks given by the staff. Highly recommended.
Super busy during school seasons, but still enjoyable to see as a family. Lots of hands on experiences as well.
Not a whole lot to see compare to other aquariums, but great for kids. Lots to touch and some fun playground; snacks are slim though. If you get a good rate on tickets its totally worth a visit
