I have brought several of my dogs over the years to Angell for treatments. All my experiences there have been beyond positive. My current dog Freya has been to Angell very frequently in the last couple of years. She has had several types of cancers and has been seen by both the surgery department as well as the oncology department. Nine years ago Dr. Pavletic removed mast cell tumors from her and did the most amazing job. Two years ago we started seeing Dr. Kubicek for melanoma. Last fall Dr. Trout removed a plasma cell tumor from her esophagus. More recently we have been seeing Dr. Talbott for her melanoma and now a new problem - lymphoma. Dr. Talbott is simply the best. She is so intelligent, reassuring and so very, very nice. It's really difficult for me to put into words how amazingly knowledgeable, compassionate, and helpful all the doctors, technicians and support staff are. When Freya was in hospital in September for her plasma cell tumor removal, I was floored by the updates that the surgery department staff gave me. I really, truly could come up with one thing negative about Angell or any of the staff.

As a side note, I work for a veterinarian who refers to Angell. I can proudly tell every one of our clients that is referred that I couldn't recommend a better hospital and I take my own beloved dogs there.

I appreciate that the doctors and techs are very real, very friendly and very compassionate. I have yet to encounter an ego.

A beautiful facility where animal welfare is taken very seriously--maybe TOO seriously. It would have been easier to apply for a loan or a job or broker international peace than the two LONG LONG interviews I had to endure. "What is your favorite thing about [your pet]?" And about 10,000 questions, all about biting and scratching, that felt like I was in a deposition. Indeed, I'm grateful that my beloved cat is now in the care of such a dedicated group of people. That dedication requires hard work on your part, though.

My 9 year old female lhasa apso was recently diagnosed with kcs. Dr. Coster and his staff are simply wonderful. I truly believe without this help my poor girl would have extremely bad eye problems.I know this is a life time condition and appreciate the time that was taken to help me understand what I need to do for her eyes.

The service is exceptional and they treat our animals better than we are treated at hospitals. I will be forever grateful at how accommodating and caring the staff and doctors were. My dog, Jack, had emergency surgery for a mass in his spleen. The doctor was supportive, but honest. Everyone keep me updated on his condition and I felt that Jack was in the best hands. I knew I had made the best decision for Jack leaving him at Angell for surgery.

It has the some of the best vets anywhere Ruby had her annual physical with blood tests for ticks. We had a call same day that she was positive for Lyme antibodies.

The only problem I ever have had at Angell is your pharmacy, They are so slow. A prescription for doxycycline was sent to pharmacy about 7 PM on Aug. 19. I called at 8:45 the next morning to make sure it was ready by 10 AM. They said no problem. When I finally got there at 10:40 AM, it was not ready and they didn't count it out until I said I was running late for an appt. This is just one example. Fortunately, I have not had to use them much in recent years. My sister has 2 dogs and even picking up Heartgard seems to have problems.

As far as the vets and medical center in general, they are wonderful...you have all the resources available in human hospitals.

Dr. Duddy was very responsive to my concerns about my cat, Josephine. She responded to my email inquiries promptly and thoroughly and was very supportive to me. She had a wonderful rapport with Josephine which made me feel at ease, having to leave Josephine at Angell for 5 days for the iodine treatment for her thyroid. She called me almost daily with a report about Josephine's progress. I can't say enough positive things about my experience with Dr. Duddy and the care that Josephine received at Angell Memorial. With my deepest thanks-Charlotte Cuneo

I highly recommend Angell to any pet owner looking for high quality veterinary care. Every staff member I dealt with was a top-notch professional. They took the time to really listen to understand the issues with my dog. Further, they provided me with various options in terms I could understand, along with the costs involved with each, so that I could make the best decisions for my pet and my family.

All of the staff is very friendly and welcoming. I feel very comfortable leaving my dog in their care. We unfortunately have to board our dog during her treatments but the staff makes us feel more at ease with the pictures and updates they send. These updates are wonderful and bring us some comfort and happiness in a stressful time.

We have taken several of our cats and dogs here for specialty and emergency treatment. I believe the specialty care is better than the emergency care, because just like any place you get a chance to develop a working relationship with the doctor who is caring for your pet over time. That said, I think the emergency staff do the best they can. It is important to keep asking questions and make sure you understand the treatment options, costs and benefits/risks. Some doctors are better than others at communicating this in an understandable manner, just as with human doctors I suppose.

There is no question that costs are steep at Angell, but considering the facility and the wide variety of support services available in the event of complications, the costs are understandable. I would never have a "routine" procedure done there; however, for complicated specialty procedures or emergencies I would not take our pets anywhere else.

I agree with other commenters who have had difficulties with the billing / financial personnel at Angell. I understand that they have a job to do, but it seems they have forgotten that the human beings on the other side of the conversation are usually making difficult decisions about a dearly loved companion animal, while trying to manage the financial aspects as well.

I am so very impressed with the reception and care at Angell West. Our ER vet went the extra mile to ensure that we understood how she came to her conclusion and the alternatives available. Every other family patient in the waiting room was happy with their care and services rendered too. I have visited many pet ER facilities through my sixty + years of loving and caring for my doggies; Angell West exceeded in every aspect all my other encounters. Thank you so much.

Dr. Frem is a superstar surgeon and we couldn't have asked for better. We are so happy we decided to spend the extra money to have our dogs MCTs removed by a surgeon. Dr. Frem had our minds at ease from the start of our initial consultation. Throughout the whole process we were taken very good care of (especially our dog!). My husband and I were kept well informed, felt comfortable asking many questions, and made aware of exactly what would be done and on the bill. The facility was always clean. I was very impressed when the staff (including Dr. Frem) met us in the parking lot to escort us in bc our dog isn't friendly with other dogs. Great experience for us.

They live up to their reputation as the best. If ever you have any serious situation don't hesitate to go to Angell. While the experience that brought me and my 15 year old Golden Retriever, Lilly, to Angell were certainly pleasant, the entire staff at Angell was so professional, caring, and in a time of uncertainty and distress they did everything they could to not only to give her the care she needed, most important of course, but also to help comfort me throughout the process. Dr. Sowa was very much dedicated to Lilly's care and personally invested in her care which ended up to be a 3 day admittance. Best of all, Lilly and I left Angell with Lilly on the mend, and within a few days she was fully back to normal - and almost miraculously - she seemed even better & more youthful overall than before she got "sick" resulting in this visit! Most everyone else thought that I was in denial since she was fifteen, and that it was simply "her time" , but I knew her as well as any parent knows their child even, and I just knew that it was something specific, with the hope it was a treatable condition. Angell respected this and believed me when even 2 other vets didn't... We traveled from another state and ultimately they indeed found a specific cause & treated her effectively, giving her a miraculous 2 more years of happy & healthy life - for which I am grateful. Had it not been for Angell I would likely have had no option other than to put her down. I can't thank or give enough praise to Angell and the entire staff. They gave Lilly the best care possible and I appreciated the efforts to help me cope / understand with the incredibly upsetting situation from beginning to end. Rather than assumptions they gave her their best efforts, they believed me and my instincts, and they succeeded in identifying her illness, and treated it, leading to a full recovery. They gave us 2 more years of life! Words cannot express my gratitude for their professionalism, compassion & expertise. THANK YOU ALL!

Dr. Duddy was so gentle with Junior the cat when she met him for his thyroid radioiodine treatment. They gave me daily reports on how he was doing. They also gave me plenty of information on how to handle him after the treatment. He had his own kitty condo during his stay, and they gave him the privacy he needed.

My pup at rat poison at a BBQ and I immediately took him to Angell. They got him in for treatment right away, kept me updated, and got the poison out of him in less than 2 hours. When he came out from the treatment area he was as feisty as he always is, I couldn t tell that he had been in danger at all. I thought it would cost a fortune but it was very reasonable for a visit to the ER. Then, they followed up to see how he was the next day. I can t laud them enough. They saved my little big man s life.

We love Dr. Brum - excellent vet! - and our visits with him are thorough, helpful and enjoyable (well, maybe not enjoyed by the dog!). I believe Angell provides the best medical care to our pets fostering my trust and confidence in the services and the professionals throughout the hospital. I use Angell on a regular basis for check-ups and scheduled care. I have also gone to Angell on an emergency basis and have always felt that my dog was in the best hands for the medical situation we were experiencing. Dr. Brum is a true professional - intelligent, knowledgeable and compassionate. I also really appreciate that I have Dr. Brum's liaison, Jen, to talk and consult with when I have questions or need further information. They are a great team, and I am fortunate to have them both.

There was a very long wait for emergency care even though there didn't seem to be many patients waiting, but the staff was very friendly and helpful! One of the avian nurses gave us a demonstration on how to administer medications to our bird, since he's not hand trained and we've never had to give him medicine before. It was extremely helpful and very generous of her to offer.

It saddens me. When ur pet has an emergency u have to bring to Angel and u can't afford the bill, your not eligible for their program you have to make the hard decision to euthanize. I had a very wealthy friend who could play their system and got a $8,000 surgery for free because she was eligible. ??? Whats with that

Everyone from the people outside at check-in/check-out desks to the ER doctor we've seen were extremely helpful. I've learned more about my kittens' issue and treatment than I had from their primary vet. it's very clear they care about the animals & it comes across through the care they offer.

We came in for an emergency visit for our kitten. ...

We came in for an emergency visit for our kitten. They told us there was one person ahead of us, and someone would check the kitten's vitals. We waited over 1hr for that vital check and it only happened after I went and asked how much longer. When we finally saw the vet, she did not provide any useful information. Our kitten had a neurological problem and couldn't walk all of the sudden. She said the neuro specialist happen to be on staff so she took the cat to see him. She came back 10 minutes later and was evasive and said he couldn't say anything but if we paid $900 he would be able to consult or we make an appointment and pay $300. She provided absolutely no useful information, and the neuro specialist was clearly just wanted money. We tried to call again over the next few days as the condition of the kitten was worsening and they ended up prescribing an appetite stimulant. That was wrong and unnecessary, a measure to keep us away I felt. The entire experience at Angell has been disappointing and disturbing. I find the vets do not care for animals, they care for money only. They charge more than other places and the service is terrible. They did not provide any valuable, educated information or diagnosis. Our family suffered a great loss and we went to Angell thinking we would get great compassion for our kitten and our family but received quite the opposite.

" Hillary provided my pet with an exam that was helpful and inexpensive. It helped a lot to have Scout seen on a Sunday. I brought him in to see his regular doctor on Monday where he got a complete exam and x-rays. The chicken bone that was in his stomach was almost completely digested by then. Hillary was very friendly and affectionate toward my dog. She had a level of expertise, but the forthcoming personality toward Scout was most appreciated. "

I was so impressed by the staff and level of knowledge doctors had while treating Abby. Although the initial wait was long to find out what was going on with Abby, after she was admitted, I was provided constant updates via text messages and phone calls throughout her 2 day stay. She improved 200% from the night I brought her in fast forward two days later. I was so happy! They literally saved her, diagnosed her with a treatable disease (luckily!) and I provided me with excellent information to follow up on her treatment. I cannot express how thankful I am for MSPCA Angela in Jamaica Plain!

Our 6 month old puppy had a bloody, swollen eye on a Sunday morning. We found Angell on google and they answered on the first ring and encouraged us to drop in (no appointment). We registered immediately on arrival (finished within 60 seconds) and were seen promptly. We were told that there would be a bit of a wait for the doc (10 minutes is a long time in puppy minutes), when she arrived she thoroughly described what she was doing and her findings during the initial evaluation and described what she would do and how it would be interpreted in the "back room". And then she was the one that brought our puppy back to the waiting area and explained the findings, treatment, and followup. Very professional.

We also VERY much appreciate that Angell Animal Medical Center took the time to contact our home vet to provide all the relevant details about this emergency visit and treatment. If only human care were as efficient, logical, polite, etc. etc.

Note: We visited the Angell West facility in Waltham (2nd Ave).

After 20 years and six pets, Angell Animal Medical...

After 20 years and six pets, Angell Animal Medical Center has lost our loyalty due to their oncologists Drs. J. Lee Talbott and Lyndsay Kubicek. Our dog Faye was diagnosed with cancer by our vet. We took her to Angell for radiation treatments which involved 20 consecutive days this past holiday season. Over the 20 days, we never once saw either of the doctors; in fact never met Dr. Kubicek. In addition to their lack of personal contact, we received condescending email messages from Dr. Kubicek. After the extended treatment during which we voiced concern directly to Dr. Kubicek we sent a letter to Chief of Staff Ann Marie Manning sharing our story. In this message we stated we would take Faye elsewhere for future treatment. Today when I went to the hospital to fill Faye s prescription I was told since we communicated in our letter we would go elsewhere for her follow up appointment in six months they refused to refill the script even though it was their instruction during the final assessment visit to give Faye the drug for the remainder of her life. The doctors put bruised egos ahead of our dogs wellbeing suggesting they would be liable for any drug reaction that could occur; Faye s has been on the drug with no issue for three months. The doctors even refused to give us a 7-day script to allow us time to find a new doctor to prescribe the drug. I will add to this review Angell has many compassionate doctors and staff these two however are not. We are now seeking treatment at the New England Veterinary Oncology Group in Waltham.

My dog had been sick for about three days and I had tried every home remedy I knew. Nothing was helping and my pup got to the point of vomiting so much that he was shaking so we got in the car and went right to Angell. We registered as an emergency case and waited no more than 5 minutes. Dr. Lockwood came out to help us so quickly! Dr.Lockwood was extremely helpful and so kind to my dog and I. She was very thoughtful and kept in touch with me the days following our visit. It was one of the hardest moments in my life seeing my pup so sick and she was such a huge help! I highly recommend the Angell Animal Medical Center!! Such wonderful people!

A+ care always. Dr. Coster is the best ever and my pup loves him. He 100% saved my dogs eyes after another vet at a different clinic preformed a surgery that failed and left him almost blind. Now my dog sees perfectly and has never been happier. Even when I'm running late they are always willing to fit me in which I appreciate so much. All of the staff and volunteers are super friendly and genuinely love animals. So happy overall.

From the people answering the phones to the doctors that I met with, I really appreciated their compassion and just their helpfulness in general. I felt like Bernie was in great hands and never worried about him. One doctor even went as far as helping me to lift Bernie into my car so that we didn't risk hurting his incision. I honestly felt that he received more care, love and attention than I've seen at some "people hospitals."

I felt compassion right away from the girls at the front desk to the nurse to the Vet. Steps I could take with this new diagnosis of lung cancer with my 8 yr old cat were clear and outlined as far as the cost and how long it would take. Prognosis although difficult to discuss was easily handled by Dr. Peck. They let me cry. I appreciate the patience, the compassion, the gentleness and most of all they gave me options and hope that perhaps something anything would help my little sick kitty

We visited Angell West at 1am because we thought our dog Molly had a bully bone stuck in her throat. Dr. Blaustein was very helpful and knowledgeable. I had brought my hamster in because he had a patch of skin where hair was missing and I knew something was wrong. The vet I had Sabrina Katz first off did not know how to treat my hamster. Even though I called and ask do you treat hamster. Should I bring him in now. Did not read the report before comming to me. Not knowing the symptoms and the gender. Once she took me in she admitted she never worked with hamsters. She was very rude when I said I am spending a lot of money here for this visit and she wanted me to come again when someone who knew about hamsters could check him out. I just paid 145 dollars for him to be check out to be told that??? Unprofessional and attitude. I would not bring any of my pets to her!

Dr. Simon was amazing, compassionate and understanding for our dog buddy. We truly appreciate her efforts for helping him get the treatment he needed to get better. She discussed his status several times while we waited for his recovery. We will be bringing buddy here with our emergencies, hopefully not anytime soon. Thank you!!!!

Everyone was wonderful, from Connor who scheduled the appointment, to the young man who greeted us as we entered, to (of course) Jocelyn, the behaviorist. She took so much time, was so patient and kind and knowledgeable, and left us with many strategies and an excellent overall assessment & plan. Lots of room for us to wait, no need for dogs to be close together; lots of time and attention during the appointment; prompt follow up to phone calls via email. Everything exceptionally professional & thoughtful, and calming (for the nervous dog parent!).

This hospital was better than most human hospitals I have worked with. They were more patient and family-centric than my experience with human family members in hospitals, more available, and more responsive. I am so impressed!

My only constructive feedback is that the estimate for the services were a little low, and the bill came in higher. The estimate range I was given was like $1300-$1700, but the services came in at over $1800. It was a simple surgery without complications, so I would have expected the estimate to be more accurate. They wrote off the bill down to the high end of the estimate they had provided, which I really appreciated. But, it would have been helpful for the estimate to be a bit more accurate, or the actual cost (without complications of course!) to fall in the middle of the estimate.

Every member of the staff that I interacted with were helpful, thoughtful, and understanding. They took the time to understand about the situation that brought me in and all pertinent background information. The vet, Amanda, was very respectful. She took the time to explain the diagnosis, what I can do moving forward and answer all my questions. I felt spoiled with the time and attention I received. Unfortunately I have been to angell for a few emergency visits and I always feel like I get the proper care and attention I need to feel good about my dog being away and injured.

The front office is the laziest and slowest that I have ever seen of any SPCA in my life. I have lived on the East Coast, West Coast northwest southeast and in the Midwest and this is by far the worst SPCA when it comes to actually having her staff be able to communicate with the patients and humans

The front office is the laziest slowest that I have ever seen of any SPCA in my life. The front doesn t speak to the back, the front doesn t speak to the admissions across the way, and they cannot get paperwork or phone calls back to any customers in under 48 hours.
My dog had an easy surgery and the surgery went well and the surgeon was absolutely amazing. It s the rest of the staff that s a living nightmare this facility.
In addition do not ever come to the SPCA from 5 o clock to 8 PM at night. They say no appointment necessary, just remember There never fully staffed in the front. , there s too many people, and it s dirty because they don t have time to take care of anything.
If you come after four in the afternoon for 5 PM, you will spend no less than 30 to 50 minutes standing in line just to check in to get your work done. The employees cannot communicate from the right-hand to the left-hand to the brain of any person that works here.
The quality of my surgeons work is spot on but the rest of the team needs to be retrained or let go.

Also, when you call during the day you will never get a human on the phone especially for Admissions. Be prepared to wait hours if not days to get calls back.
Quality work but shit everyone else.

Best medical and social support we can find for our pet kids in the area. Always very attentive and high quality treatment. We really appreciate everything angell represents. We brought our 4 year old Golden Retriever mix in ...

We brought our 4 year old Golden Retriever mix in yesterday 12/20/15 at 4pm. after a Lab had bit his ear and causing some considerable damage. They told us he needed surgery, but were not sure when it could be done as they were short staffed. I asked if a surgeon could do it, as they told us, the lack of blood flow to the exposed cartilage part of the ear may mean that part may turn necrotic, and might need amputation of the affected segment. The cost of leaving him overnight was $1075. We agreed.

As of 4pm this afternoon, 12/21/2015, they still had not done the surgery. Finally, I spoke to the surgeon who said they took him in to the OR at 5pm today, more than 24 hours after we brought him in, sutured him in 45 min. no need for anything more. They advised us to keep him overnight for anesthesia "observation" .

Total cost: $2,900.

Where in the world do they keep a dog 36 hours for a simple suturing of an ear laceration? This is plain and simple abusive adm/medical practice and should be sanctioned. I have heard of several other cases where similar things have happened at Angell. They take advantage of the fact that they are the only 24 hour vet hospital in the area, to gauge hard working people that are concerned for their animals of their hard earned money, for procedures that in reality. do not require all the extras they tell people are necessary.

Time for the press to do a little piece on them. I plan to tell some friends at the Globe about this incident. I don't mean to take away the merits they do have, but what I just went through is plain and simply unacceptable.

My ex left my little winged love unattended and she got into a Ding Dong. I drove home from work, grabbed my bird , and strait to the world's best Vets.
They performed emergency Charcoal Poison Treatment and saved her from an early grave.
I was absolutely distraught and they let me know she was in very good hands.
A few hours later, we were on our way home with a recovering Avian.
Fast forward to today, My bird and I are doing great, and we still go here for our annual wellness checks.
Thank you Angel Memorial,
Thanks for all you do..

We have been going to Angell for a very long time. Dr. Kaye is great with our animals and very patient with our very nervous dog. His vet tech (I'm sorry I do not remember her name) also was great and gentle with our animals making it a painless experience for us. I feel like I am getting world class care and all the staff is friendly and genuinely cares about animals. Our cat was very sick a couple years back and Angell offered to do a surgery that they had never done before at Angell (subcutaneous ureteral bypass). I appreciated that they were willing to try anything to save my pet! Several years later, he's happy and healthy!

I came in for an emergency appointment in the evening and was pleasantly surprised by the short wait. My dog was triaged very quickly, and all the staff was great with him. The whole experience was much less stressful than it could have been, given the fact that it was an emergency.

When I arrived I was told that I had a balance of $366 that was in collections from 10 years ago and if I wanted to move forward with diagnosing Mocha the balance would have to be paid (I didn't know I had an account in collections and was mortified). I promptly paid it. Mocha was admitted and I was told she would stay for approximately 3-4 days and was given a range $832 - $1456 for her stay, I paid it.

Unfortunately, Mocha passed 2.5 days later and i was told my account would be credited with the unused balance. One month later, I called to make an appointment for my pup and was told I had a $50 balance on my account. How could this be? When Mocha passed, I was informed, I would have a credit. Angell decided to charge my account an extra $440.00 for fees associated with my previously paid $366.

I was not made aware of these fees nor was I asked my permission to charge my card. Angell continues to insist it was not charged separately, even with the receipts I have of the two charges (original collection amount and rabbit inpatient) and not the third (collection fees). If I was aware of fees associated with the collection amount, why wouldn't I have paid the total when I paid the original $366? Clearly, I was not told of the fees when I was told of the amount in collections.

Yes, I owed the money, yes, if given the option I would have most certainly paid it. This is about principle. I should have been contacted and asked permission to charge the fees with the remaining credit, it is not Angell ER's job to determine because I paid for other services I should/would pay for this. I have yet to receive an apology just excuses.

As of today, this has not been resolved and I am extremely unhappy. This situation has left me feeling violated and untrusting of Angell and their credit card practices I will not be taking my pup to them moving forward.

Everyone is so warm and gentle with the animals that ANYONE, may it be YOUR pet, a friend's or family member's pet, should not worry about any lack of care for their loved one (animal) in the hands of those who work at Angell Animal Medical Center... Everyone I came across was more kind and understanding then I could have ever imagined. I love my (& all animals) with all my heart and all employees that I had the pleasure to work with at Angell Animal Medical Center carry the same warm and caring attitude that means so much to me ... The gentleness, the understanding every time tears came to my eyes, the warmth when discussing with me about the aggressive cancer my poor yet wonderful bunny (Kisses) has to endure, went above and beyond anything I ever expected.
Thank you Angell Animal Medical Center you are the best...

Text messaging with the nurses, and especially getting pictures before / after the surgery was great! We've been long-time supporters of Angell and it is satisfying now to see firsthand that our contributions are going toward making a great experience for pet owners.

My immediate and extended family has been bringing our dogs and cats to Angell for years and we've always had a very positive experience. Specifically, we've been very well served by Doctor O'Hara. I appreciate the efficiency and accuracy of our primary care visits. Everything is well organized at Angell, which has not always been my experience with other practices. We have also had past emergencies where Angell has saved the life of my extended family's pets, which obviously gives me a deep sense of appreciation. Also, I travel often and bring my pets with me, so the flexibility to have simple things (like Heart Guard) mailed to me has been great. Those little things that make it easier for me to care for my pets really help.

Excellent staff; caring and clinically competent. The preparation for the visit couldn't have been better. Staff had reviewed all prior relevant information from multiple sources. Sound, practical advice was received. My dog was so relaxed during the visit that she fell asleep at one point.

We had a fantastic experience with Terri Bright and Susan Conway. Dr. Bright listened carefully, was extremely kind and personable, and gave us excellent tips. Most of all, she made us feel capable and gave us just the perspective and encouragement we needed. Then, receiving a detailed plan via email really reinforced everything--it's so important to have a plan to reference and keep us grounded. Thank you! Listening, encouragement, and on-target training advice.

Angell was recommended to me from a coworker. I then looked at saw saw 4.6 stars out of 500+ reviews and I was sold. We are so glad we decided on Angell. Dr. Casale spent a lot of time in the pre surgery visit going over our 16 week old Goldens (Finn) Hernia diagnosis and explained what needed to be done, possible outcomes and potential issues Finn may run into. We definitely appreciated her obvious expertise on the issue and overall transparency. From moment we dropped Finn off to the moment we picked him up the Staff and Dr. Casale were awesome. We were pleasantly surprised when started to receive text messages with pictures of Finn (before and after the surgery). It made us feel connected to the process and definitely helped with our overall concern and anxiety. I can't say enough how incredibly positive experience it was. Thank you to Dr Casale and the Angell staff on taking such great care of our little baby Finn!

My girlfriend and I used their services and we were treated with the up most professional and caring. They even have a meditation room to just do that. Meditate. Even the young Dr. who took Topper handled his body with care and respect. The adoption room was clean and they had extremely dedicated animal people. I watched for an hour as people came with sick family members and left with smiles on their faces. I regret that I read reviews from people(yeah you know who you are) that said exactly the opposite. Well shame on them. Please people if you love your animals this is the place to go for "very professional" care and love. God bless and please, please donate, even if you don't have an animal friend. Thank you ASPCA and Angel Memorial.

From the start till the end we got outstanding service, professional and caring, that was way beyond our expectations. Starting with the appearance and facilities of the place, through the excellent staff and finish with personal touch and real concern about patients. We would like to specifically praise Dr Trout who patiently and professionally explained us the whole procedure and made us feel ease with it and of course he did excellent job during the operation. we also want to praise Emily (don't know her last name, only that she is Canadian) who was adorable and kept us updated all along and even sent us pictures of our precious dog after the surgery. Her personal touch made the difference. I am very very judgmental and almost always have bad things to say.. but not this time! Please use us as your recommenders in any way you want. I refer to my last answer. The personal touch and real care about the patients and owners make the difference.

Emergency care available was good. However our cats emergent need for surgery was delayed for almost a day because which ever corrupt business personnel operating this facility is trying to gain from people who care about their animals and in moment of distress and concern I was told a minimum payment of $4000 needed to be made before surgery. When I informed them about the pet insurance it was covered , they proceeded to contact me back and delay the surgery changing the price and asking for another 1500 after an initial 850 was already given for exam/analysis procedures. After a 30 min call to speak with management they said they ll make a one time exception but payment needed to be made upon discharge. I was going to take my cat out of there but he was discharged wreaking of urine and nonetheless surgically recovering but it was inhuman how they were basically trying to rob an individual for their pets wellbeing, taking advantage .

Deb and Dr. Staudenmaier came across as clearly loving their avian and exotic patients. My guinea pigs have never had such careful, comprehensive exams from such expert, gentle people. I love that they asked me a lot of questions and explained exactly what they were finding. It was obvious the quality of care and professionalism was very high. I also love the patient and experienced ways she and Deb handled them. My guinea pigs find exams stressful, but they actually seemed relatively at ease.

Loved the facility, as well as the staff we were in contact with for the appointment. My only disappointment was with the check-in process. I have an extremely shy/fearful dog and had difficulty in trying to keep her distracted and preventing her from barking at other animals, especially dogs. The lobby is huge and very loud, which added to my dogs nervousness, too. As soon as we made it through check-in, we were directed to the waiting area, which was just as loud and my dog continued to anxiously bark at nearby dogs. When we were finally brought to the exam/meeting room she relaxed a little. I really liked Dr. Goodman, as well as the assistant (sorry, have forgotten her name), who was enormously helpful in scheduling back-to-back x-rays and ultrasounds to avoid incurring "hospitalization costs." We will definitely be returning next week for these diagnostic tests but unfortunately will have to deal with the "big scary" and uncomfortable check-in and waiting areas . Yes, my dog is nervous at every visit to our own vet but they quickly lead us to an exam room to try and lessen her anxiety. Just wish Angell could do more to help nervous dogs and cats, there are SO many of them! It WAS great to see cats waiting in their own, separate area, however. My dog would not have barked at them, though, since we have 2 cats at home, in addition to 2 dogs. Thanks for taking the time to review my feedback!

Very upset and disappointed in this Hospital. We live in NH and all this happened over the weekend an ER doctor in NH said our dog should see a Neurologist. Unfortunately could not get an appointment in NH until Wed so we were told to try Angell Hospital and possibly there would be a neurologist available to evaluate her. I called the Hospital that night Sat. and they said a Dr. Daniel would be there Sunday to bring her down but go through the Emergency center to see him. We did as told and was there first thing at 8 AM. We were then told a tech would evaluate her and I told them we had come down to see a Dr. Daniel she had been evaluated in NH should have paper work. They said oh he is booked...Then an ER doctor came in to check her and I asked are you a neurologist? She said no Dr. Daniel was busy. By then I said please just give us a prescription for the inflammation until I can see our Vet. She refused. Said an MRI and possibly surgery needed
Called my Vet Monday AM he said yes read reports come get hr some meds and she is 100 % better..

I was very pleased with the caring and professional way the Doctors and Tech cared for and handled my older dog during his visit. They answered all my questions, I didn't feel rushed - time was spent on making sure that we were comfortable, and understood everything that was happening. Full explanations thru out the visit and the findings was greatly appreciated.

I appreciated the fact that there was a cat specific waiting area to avoid stressing out cats who are afraid of dogs. When I arrived my cat was car sick and the staff helped to clean up his carrier and wash him which I thought was really nice of them. Also Dr. Loft spent a lot of time explaining the procedure my cat would need which was more explanation and time than most vets have given me at an appointment.

Great place highly recommended esp. If you have an emergency and your low on cash. They will allow you to be seen no charge and they give you up to $500 to be paid within 7 days. These people truely care about ur pet and they r not in business just to get paid like alot of other animal hospitals

The care is comprehensive and thorough. I feel that my pet is safe and is getting excellent care. I have had my dog hospitalized multiple times for life-threatening conditions and have had good experiences with the staff. The staff are caring and focused on the animals, as always. Very good experience overall. The only issue for us is that we usually have to wait for the appointment, despite being on time.

I couldn't be happier with my experience here. I was a crazy cat mom at 4 am and both the receptionist and vet on staff were super nice and made me feel less crazy. Turns out I over-reacted and my cat was fine. I would absolutely recommend this place. My last comment kind of sums it up, but the staff is SO nice and even though nothing turned out to be wrong, the vet never made me feel like I was overreacting.

Last year we took our dog there for surgery due to a broken leg. All they seemed concerned about was how much they charged
I asked if they would match chewy for med prices they said no
They over billed us as well ( which was rectified)
My dog walked out without any cone on his head, when I asked why, she looked at the charges and stated, " oh we need to charge for that 1st"

Less than a year later, a screw broken through my dogs leg. I called and emailed several times
When they finally contacted me, I was refused treatment because I owed them a lousy$140.00
(The bill was thousands)!!
Furthermore I was told no Treatment unless I paid upfront
Really??? They mess up and want us to pay again
I can't believe all that matters is $$$$$$

brought my 5-yr old Leopard Gecko here for an emergency visit. She had what was essentially an impaction due to a deformed egg that was not laid. The care team kept me updated every step of the way, providing photos of her in their care, and she came home with me 2 days later, feeling better than ever after an emergency surgery. The team at Angell was extremely knowledgeable and willing to answer any questions I have., and provided me with in-depth after-care instructions. Would definitely recommend as an exotic vet!

You can easily tell they care so much for the animals that arrive there and are very good at what they do. Angell was amazing to work with, I immediately felt comfortable with them as soon as we arrived. They explained everything clearly and were so on top of caring for our puppy. They knew it would be hard for us to leave him overnight so they even sent us a picture of our puppy that night that we could look at when we missed him.

Anything you could ever possibly need for veterinary care is available at Angell. The staff and doctors are the best you can find. And at any time of the day and night you can count on them,

Though not my first visit, I'm always impressed by the warmth of your staff and great care our pups get there. The "systems" they use to manage care and check and out are excellent.

The excellent, compassionate care they provide is head and shoulders above any other veterinary care we have ever received.
I joke with friends.. I wish they took humans :)

When my husband called the emergency line they were able to get in touch with our cat's cardiologist. This made it easy for us to make an informed decision about whether to bring him in to the emergency department or not. It was amazing to be able to schedule an appointment for the next day during that phone call. At the appointment today, from the moment we walked in we had a great experience. I loved being able to use the "kitty cart" to wheel my huge 16 lb guy around. I love that we got to use the same room during both visits. Every staff member was extremely professional, responsive, and just wonderful. They gave an incredibly high amount of care to my cat, I trust his whole cardio team implicitly. It's a long drive to MSPCA Angell but the experience every time is parallel to none (and likely way more affordable). Thank you, thank you!
