Jocelyn is amazing, it was so reassuring to know that she worked with Herkules when he was waiting to be adopted and that she shared her struggles with her own dog. We felt so validated and supported and that we had a good plan moving forward. Looking forward to seeing her in October to check in on Herk's progress.

A simple procedure that(took my regular vet 30 minutes and cost $300) took the staff at Angell 8 hours of me sitting in the waiting room completely uninformed and cost me $1,000. Worst night of my life

The staff was very friendly and I received an email each morning about how my pet was doing while she was in the hospital. The vet was also very caring and always kept me updated, which helped me feel that my pet was taken care of very well.

Angell proves again why they are the best at what they do, even in times of crisis. My dog had surgery with Dr. Pavletic to remove a lump and get a biopsy and they were professional and thorough even during the pandemic. They were thoughtful and caring and I felt confident even though I could not enter the building with my slightly anxious dog. They were responsive and communicated well through the whole process. I'm waiting on the biopsy results but either way, I know my "soulmutt" is in the best hands with Angell as our Animal Hospital.

My nine year old cat has symptoms of conjunctivitis or lacrimal gland problems. I sent pictures. The vet refused to look at the pictures, refused any advice for the cat unless the cat was in front of him. I am in lockdown. I do not want to expose anyone else. Not even suggestions for home care.

If you want the best care for your pet go here. It's the pet equivalent of Mass general hospital.

On the other hand, JP is in the city but thoroughly 30 minutes from the city.

Prices are steep as well. Still it's worth it because the staff is amazing.

This place is WONDERFUL. I needed to take my cat, Mollie, in b/c she was having trouble opening her eye. Every person I came into contact with was kind and helpful. Dr. Dorsey treated us as though Mollie MATTERED to her and I am incredibly appreciative for all she did to assist us. Thank you, Angell Animal Medical Center & Dr. Dorsey! You all are INCREDIBLY good at what you do and your customer service is unbeatable.

My dog had kidney failure and passed away. My dog was admitted to the critical care unit. The critical care unit is staffed with inexperienced interns and no attending physicians present at night and on weekends.
We were told that some procedures were going to be done and when we questioned the intern she was incredibly rude. It wasn t until the Attending physician (experienced) intervened and directed her as to what to do a day later. Don t have a lot of faith in Angel when it is staffed in the critical care unit with inexperienced interns. Never going back!

Three days after I brought my kitten home, she collapsed. I immediately brought little Gus to Angell and the staff immediately took her to be evaluated. Even though I was then told that she probably wouldn t make it through the night, they promised to do everything they could for Gus and to keep me updated throughout the whole ordeal. Long story short, she made it through the night and is now 11 months old. She is spunky, cuddly and the most hilarious pet I could ever have asked for. Without Angell, she would not be alive and I would not have my buddy.

Dr. Lowe - this was the second time I had encountered an emergency (different animal) and it was Dr. Lowe that helped in both situations. I was so relieved to know she was there for the second episode. I knew at that moment that whatever ails my cat, I was in the best of the best hands. You care! No matter whom you speak with (Dr., Nurse, Reception, Pharmacist) - you can tell that their whole heart and soul is right there sympathizing with your situation.

Your people are always very kind and knowledgeable. I always pick you first as your doctors seem to be better at what they do over other hospitals. I always feel they are better trained and trust them more. And you are incredibly good with small pets like hamsters in addition to dogs.

I brought my cat in for a cataract consultation with Dr. Biros today. Due to covid-19 I couldn't go inside, but when I called to let them know I arrived the tech spent a whole 5 minutes on the phone with me getting to know my cat before she came out to get her, which was very reassuring.
While I was waiting outside I got to witness the sincere amount of care that the staff have for animals. Every dog that was brought out was snuggling up to the staff, and looked happy as ever.
Luckily my cat was a quick diagnosis so she was only inside for about 10 minutes! Once I had her back in the car Dr. Biros called to talk through absolutely everything with me. He was patient and thoroughly explained everything in a way that was easy to understand but didn't make me feel like a simpleton. It was by far the best conversation I've ever had with a doctor or vet in my life.
In these times it's hard to find people that genuinely care, and will take all the time in the world to make you feel like you matter without rushing you out the door. It's an indispensable quality of this hospital that I've read in countless other reviews. Although we live 50 minutes away, my pets will be coming here for complex care for life.

My local vet referred me to Angell when my dog was diagnosed with a rare cancer. They got me in quickly, and have treated us with compassion and understanding. Cancer treatment is expensive in general, but I feel we get such a good value for what we have paid- they explain your different options well and take into consideration your financial situation by providing estimates for everything. My favorite part about Angell is they regularly check in and send texts with pictures of your pet if they have to stay at the hospital, which relieves a lot of anxiety for me!

DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE. I have a 6-month-old puppy who had an upset stomach and was told she needed an X-Ray. I was told by Sabrina Katz- the vet, that she needed to be mildly sedated just so that she would be still for the X-Ray. Instead of giving her a small dose, she gave my puppy 10x the required amount of sedation. The sedation given almost killed my puppy. They had to reverse it with other medicine, put her on oxygen and she was under critical care. I have all proof of this as I have my puppy's medical records. I was told that she may not survive the night due to their error. I am furious and I warn you to be careful. This is despite my saying, as before my puppy went in, I had told Sabrina to be very careful and to only give her a little bit as she was already sick and lethargic. Sabrina told me not to worry and that it would only be a small amount just so she could be still for the X-Ray. Sabrina is extremely irresponsible and almost killed my puppy!!!! DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE.

Angell is a great place to go for expert treatment. We saw Dr. Coster for a feline eye problem. Dr. Coster was so knowledgeable, and also very kind and reassuring. His assistant, Claudia, was also charming and very helpful. True professionals with great knowledge and a wonderful bedside manner.

I would give zero stars if I could. I was disgusted with the treatment of my cat. I gave them a second chance ( my wife was less than thrilled with her dog's treatment there over the summer) and I regret having done so. After waiting for 2 hours in an empty waiting room with my cat still bleeding profusely from a severe leg wound, we left. My wife took him to the Massachusetts Veterinary Referral Hospital in Woburn where he was treated immediately and in for surgery within an hour. I will never go to Angell Animal Medical Center ever again. After having 2 bad experiences there with 2 different animals, I stand strongly by my rating and review.

All of the staff, from the woman that took our information on the phone to the vet that treated our pup, were very friendly and calming during a stressful time. We were happy at how quickly our dog was able to be seen after we arrived. And I thought the cost of the care was very reasonable. Thank you! Our dog got into her food and overate. We knew she was in distress overnight but we weren't sure how concerned we needed to be. It was such a relief when we were able to bring her in to get checked out very early on a Saturday morning and get the vet's guidance on her to get her healthy again.

The Vet and other staff I spoke to on the phone were very kind and explained what was going on with my very sick cat.
It was hard not to go in with my cat due to Covid-19, but appreciate the effective system that Angell has to keep us all safe.
The staff are very knowledgeable and kind.

I brought my 13-year-old Lab for rehab due to an injured leg. The doctor and technician, and the front desk person who I spoke with, were friendly, very good with my dog, and gave me clear and complete information about her injury, the rehab therapies, and how she is doing. A pleasant experience and so helpful to my dog.

Everyone was kind and genuinely helpful. There was no pushing to have extra tests done. The doctor was very competent, knew exactly what needed to be done and was really great with our dog. I was initially not sure about going to Angell because it has a reputation for being very expensive ... I would definitely go again...everyone was fantastic and there focus was taking great care of our dog... and it turned out that the expense was just a little more than what we would of paid at our regular vet. I would definitely recommend Angell to others. We were really impressed by the kindness, the competence, and quality of care. Our dog went for stitches, he was treated very well, and two days later he is doing great. The description of the procedure and medicines in the letter that went home with our dog was really great. Everything was just awesome.

The person I picked up my cats from was very friendly and helpful with all the questions I had about their spay recovery! What I appreciated most about Angell is that they offer low cost spaying. I wouldn't be able to afford the cost of the surgery otherwise!

Dr. de Papp was wonderful. She unfortunately had to deliver some of the worst possible news about our puppy, but I could not have felt more at ease knowing that she diagnosed him quickly and easily. I appreciate her and Shannon's efforts during our difficult appointment. In addition Shannon has followed up with me several times since our appointment and has been extremely accessible and responsive to my many questions. Thank you both. The Angell facility is amazingly clean and updated. I can't believe how pristine everything was from the waiting area, to the exam rooms and even the hallways. Very confidence inspiring. As we sat in the waiting room I really appreciated how all of the tech's who came out to greet the families seemed to know and recognize their pet patients! MSPCA Angell is the 3rd vet facility I've taken my dog to in the past 2 years and I'll never go anywhere else again.

My dog Arizona was brought in for a suspected torn ACL. It was confirmed. He was formerly abused severely, used as a bait dog and he was terrified. The doctor and staff were so kind to us and so gentle to him. They showed him he could walk. And when we went home it was like a miracle had happened. He began to completely trust us all. I believe that how he was treated at the hospital showed him that he didn't have to be afraid anymore. He is no longer limping now and he is happier than I have ever seen him. We came in with a dog that couldn't walk and we went home with a dog that was happy and couldn't wait to show me that he wanted to try. I can never thank the doctor and the staff enough.

Everyone is very knowledgeable and friendly and that they really care about you and your animal. Berni had his ears operated on to remove his ear canals. They called to tell us that Berni was about to go into surgery and that he was doing well. They told us the operation would take about four hours. Exactly four hours later Dr. Trout called to let us know that Berni was out of surgery and was doing great. He said they would keep him overnight to make sure everything went well and that we could pick Berni up after noon the next day. When we went to pick Berni up around 1PM both Berni and his medications were ready and the Dr.'s assistant explained everything about Berni's follow up care. A couple of days later she called our house to make sure Berni was doing well. This visit as well as all our other visits over the years has been a very satisfying visit. The Dr.'s and the staff are all very professional and caring and they explain everything so that the average person can understand.

Excellent vet! We've transitioned to Angell because of the excellent care and relatively affordable costs. Vets aren't cheap, but Angell charges much less than our previous vet. We also had an emergency visit lately for our dog and they did an absolutely amazing job. We were seen by Dr. Kelley, and she was thorough, informed and great with our dog. We highly recommend Angell!

Outstanding care and compassion. It was necessary to euthanize my cat who was elderly and terminally ill. The staff was caring and considerate, a special room was provided with comfortable setting where we could spend some final moments with our old friend. We weren't rushed... we were treated with respect, and so was our old friend. When it was time for her to go, she slipped without pain and scary bright lights. I am eternally grateful to Angell Memorial for their kind attention to my friend.

I recently had to come to Angell Animal Medical Center for an emergency. They saved my cat's life from what was becoming a deadly internal obstruction. Every staff member I interacted with at Angell, from front desk staff to the surgeon, was incredibly friendly, helpful, personal, knowledgable and most important, incredibly competent and knowledgable. The second I got in to see the veterinarian, I could tell she was listening closely and knew what to do to figure out what was wrong with our cat. I was also incredibly impressed with the level of personalization in communication throughout the company. The surgeon called me twice a day to personally give me updates on how my cat was doing, and staff members were assigned (I assume) to send me texts and photos of my cat while he was in surgery and on the mend the days following. I always felt in the loop and empowered about what was happening with my cat. This is a wonderful place and I would bring my cats back here in a heartbeat. Thank you, MSPCA.

Angell was so great with my girl, Coco. She fractured her right femur and had to have surgery. The staff from the admin office that assisted with my insurance claim to the surgery coordinators for the constant updates. Between Jess and Todd, they provide me with updates on how my girl was doing along with some photos! I really appreciate that because it allowed me to have some peace of mind while not being able to be with her. Thank you! I think the communication via text message with photos of my pet was the one thing I really appreciated the most! I loved getting updates and photos!

Check-in was relatively easy. It was a busy night, but still we were only there about 15 minutes before a vet tech took vitals and maybe 30 - 45 minutes total before a doctor came in. We were ultimately sent home due to there being a lead time before the doctor could provide the treatment necessary, so we ended up going to our regular vet in the morning. I was able to obtain a pain killer prescription and left. Since we didn't end up getting the actual treatment, it would have been nice to get the deposit back, but they were upfront about it being non-refundable and I accepted that risk going into it. Angell works because the are open almost always, otherwise I would have gone to the regular vet from the start.

Dr. Wimmer and the Angell staff saved my beagle when 3 other vets couldn't help her. She would have died from Addison's disease if we hadn't taken her to Angell. She was 2 when we discovered her illness and she's now a happy, healthy 8 year old pup. I can't recommend Angell enough.

Angell has taken the time to make sure all my questions are answers. The only bad thing I would have to say is that when my dog was there overnight I called to try and get an update on him, didn't need to be from a doctor just someone that was with my dog just to reassure me he was okay so I could sleep and no one could tell me anything about him or transfer me to a tech. Also the male receptionist how took this call was very rude about telling me he couldn't tell me anything about my dog. I really appreciated how kind Dr.Engell was to My dog Bentley and me!

Friendly, competent staff and short wait times made my experience at Angell a positive one. The vet provided thorough information related to my pet's health, and was able to recommend treatments and medications that would help her live a long, happy life. I am so happy I found Angell for my cat!

Would definitely recommend to others!

Took my golden in for a laparoscopic ovariectomy (less invasive spay). Got text message updates from the surgeon's assistant and email addresses for both assistant and surgeon, which made getting answers to follow-up questions much easier. If human health care were this efficient our economy would flourish.

Dr Kearns prescribed my doodle puppy with antibiotics to help with his sporadic diarrhea issues (he'd gone through about 3 rounds of medications for giardia in the span of about a month and a half so his system was definitely out of wack!) Within the first 36 hours of using the probiotic his poop had hardened and they've been consistent since! Poor guy's tum just needed a reboot :).

Our 9 week old puppy wasn't keeping her meals down and she spit up blood-tinged sputum. We brought her to Angell on Saturday evening. The experience was positive from start to finish. The admin staff were courteous and efficient. The doctor spent more time with us than my PCP at my last physical. She was very thorough and reassuring and our puppy was just fine. Very pleased with our experience at Angell.
