Back in late December the technician broke my motherboard during a keyboard replacement and thus what started as a simple keyboard replacement ended with my needing to buy a new laptop or pay a huge expense for a new motherboard. These guys might know some things but don't trust them to take your computer apart.
These guys feel like friends. They are genuine, knowledgeable, friendly, and are happy to offer advice and expertise. (Even encouragement for newbies like me.) I would absolutely refer them to any of my friends with a computer issue.
Had a horrible crash of Chrome, and spent hours on hold trying to get Google or Microsoft to help me fix it, as it ended up they wanted to charge me $50.00 for support. One 3 minute call to Action and I was able to fix it. They really know the meaning of customer service. Another great aspect is that when you call them you get a real, live person to talk to.

When I returned for help with use of device and computer, he welcomed me back. He tested devices, reassured me it was not my error and after fixing the device issue, shared key tips on how to maximize use of my computer. Action Computers will keep you in action. :)

Didn t give me the information I need when buying a product. When I returned I had to dig the answers and solution out of him. In the end the problem was solved but I ended up paying for it. The process seemed like he was just trying to sell as much as possible.
Action Computer has come through for me on a number of occasions when I needed used equipment or some peripheral equipment to make my older hardware more usable. A knowledgable staff and friendly attitude are also appreciated. I always go to Action first when I need used computers or new accessories.
The guy at the counter wasn't particularly knowledgeable, and had to go in the back to get clarification several times. The store is cluttered and I will just shop on Amazon next time.

This place is a total rip off. They download free software you can find easily online: Malware Bytes, super anti virus (free edition) & glary utilities. (They left the programs on my computer so I know this)then they try and sell you an anti virus program they supposedly used. I paid $180 for the free software I didn't know about and $150 to get a new screen for my computer. I needed a computer for my fiance to use and that's relatively cheap compared to buying a new one. I just wish I knew that these programs were free and easy to use.
Well if you need someone to be condescending who tries to hide what they don't know to begin with I would highly recommend this company.
Went in for my first time building a pc, I knew the basics and was looking into parts. At first, everyone was helpful and explanatory. They had set me up with many basic parts and essentials that should work as a simple pc build. However being my first pc I had some trouble with some of the wiring. So I came back the next day asking a where several pins connected to, but instead of helping me find answers like they had said they would on the prior day, they told me it would cost me another 50-100 dollars to get help. This was a fee they had never mentioned and it seemed to come out of nowhere. Along with that they stopped answering any of my other problems. Such as the fact that they hadnt mentioned that some of the parts they sold me required drivers that they didn't have and refused to refund for or help me find. After around a week of trial and error I managed to get the computer parts they sold me to finally turn on, only to see that each part was from a different period of time, ranging from windows xp to windows 7. This was especially disappointing as they had told me that the pieces would all be from the same time and work together, to which they did neither. Action Computers is great if you are looking to buy a single cheap part, but do not expect quality or help.
They sold me a used UPS assuring me it worked. I took it home, it didn't work. I took it back. They offered a "new" one for an additional price. It had dents and scratches on it and the box had obviously been previously opened. I was desperate for a UPS, so I took it. Didn't work because the battery needed to be replaced.
Edit: They contacted me and gave me a full refund shortly after writing this review. I appreciated that.
I got my computer fixed there and they did it allright but ended up have to nust get a new one. People are nice but the PCs they had for gameing were not good for the price they wanted, At least in my experience.
My daughter and I both use this store for our three computers. Dusty and the other members of the team are knowledgeable, efficient, and helpful.
We live in Lakewood, but it is worth the drive. We recommend them highly.

I have sold a few PCs to them over the years. I had a laptop that was an Alienware i9 gaming laptop. I wasn't using it anymore and drove to action pc. I was greeted by a gentleman at the front desk there in the back and told him I wanted to sell my laptop. He asked how much I was hoping to get and I said at least $500. The second guy laughed and said "I've been here for 4 years and never had one sell for that much". It was an odd feeling for me in the store and it felt like they were both trying to discourage me from selling.They never looked at it or asked for any specs. I took my laptop and left after driving 40 minutes to get here. They had me out the door in less than 30 seconds. I did some research and sold my laptop to a company online for $1000. I learned my lesson and will not be going back to action computers arvada.
Lack of response , bad attitude, they dont care handling expensive equipment like garbage, uncompleted jobs after 3 days. They have nerve get upset when clients inquire stats on their equipment. Took my device to another place took the guy 3.mimutes to fix what these idiots couldnt do in 3 days.
I am so impressed by what Dusty and Chris know and their ability to help me, who has little understanding of the real workings of a computer. I needed help on my old, unsupported Outlook. They got it working for me in less that 30 minutes after I had spent days trying! Their cost is very reasonable as well. I will be back for any computer issues or needs I have in the future. We have purchased a computer here in the past and been pleased with it too.
Wrote a review on the Denver location, but I actually went here. Terrible service, was told they couldn't even find the problem I was having with the PC that I had just purchased from them. Was told there was a 90 day return period, and when I stated I wanted a return, I was told returns were only given on new devices. I talked to the store owner (Jeff) because he says he wants to guarantee satisfaction, but he only offered me excuses, and the offer that if I wanted further inspection of my faulty unit, that it would cost me money to inspect software, and that it must be something I was running. I have since moved out of state, and now the unit is crashing daily. I have had the problem diagnosed (in short order) as a faulty cooling fan, which I had originally stated as what I thought the problem was. Now I have to pay to have the unit fixed here. $400 waste of money, waste of my time, and poor practices overall. Dean was working hard to sell me the unit, but when I came back (multiple times) to talk with him about it, he directed me elsewhere, and couldn't seem to care less that he sold me a faulty unit.
Good price and I've had zero battery issues since getting my gaming-specific laptop repaired. In an industry where it could be easy to take advantage of people, especially people unfamiliar with computers, this place seems like a solid, honest option.

TOOK IT HOME AND IT WILL NOT EVEN POWER UP "NO BOOT DEVICE" I HAVE TO RETURN IT TO DELL BECAUSE THEY WIPED THE ENTIRE OS, SO I LOST EVERYTHING I HAD SAVED ON IT. This is the only computer store my husband and son will do business with, and they've done a lot with Action. Sometimes I accompany them and I think the staff there is very friendly and helpful. The only thing I ever had go wrong with them is that I brought my laptop in for repair and they misdiagnosed the problem. I e-mailed them about it, like, a month or two later, just to let them know what had happened, and they immediately refunded my money in full, which was a pleasant surprise to me. I was expecting they might argue with me or blow me off, but they made good on the situation and I was very impressed. I would recommend everyone to this place.
My wife was referred here by a coworker and was very satisfied with the service (repair work). A few months ago, I had problems of my own (power source) and needed immediate service. The guy that was initially helping me was going on break but had me squared away. An issue arose and the other worker didn't seem to be as knowledgeable (maybe in training?). I was thinking that I may need to go somewhere else when the first guy, who was eavesdropping on his way to the back, returned to solve my problem. I was VERY impressed with that level of dedication. It wasn't a big sale, but he couldn't walk away from a customer. As a small business owner I have "stars" in customer service who do the same and others who mainly handle the simple tasks. I would suggest to the owner/manager that an employee NAME (possibly even on a business card) is provided to the customer so they leave with the feeling that they will return and get the same level of service. In principle, customer service techs should have the same knowledge as their coworkers, but that's not the real world. As for me, I'll use this store again, as will my wife.
Fast and friendly service is what you want when you being a $2,000 + computer in.
I have purchased many refurbished laptops from Action Computers for the last 14 years from the Arvada store. They are courteous and trustworthy not pushy. There was only one time that I had a problem and they resolved it immediately. They have very reasonable prices too.
I recently bought a laptop in Jan. 2016, from Action Computers and was very pleased with the quality and the price. However, three days ago my computer stopped working. I did not know why! I took it in to the store for repair and was told that I had broken the screen. Well I could not understand how that could have happened under my watch since I'm extra careful with my laptop. I was furious! All I knew was I needed my laptop up and running. The Representative called the owner discussed my situation and told me he could repair it for a reasonable cost, and I was really happy to hear that. We left the laptop at the computer store and got a call to return in less than an hour. I will admit, I was a little bit anxious when I first arrived and did not understand the cause of the problem which could have been explain to me better(Rep Ryan). Nice people, but when you go in for computer issues and they say they are 2 weeks out minimum AND there are three employees standing around doing nothing it makes me think there are better places to spend my money and time.
I even called ahead and they said to bring it in. Wish they would have told me it was minimum two weeks out over the phone. I won't be coming back.
Hit a wall while building my computer and did everything possible to figure out what I was doing wrong. The tech there diagnosed the problem with in ten minutes, saved me money, advised me on the appropriate peripherals to complete my build. A+ 10/10 Thank you very much!!

Ok. I was talk to by the owner of this work place and he help me get a computer that works and want to make sure i was happy.
I had traveled to Denver with my sleep apnea apparatus device. During the trip I thought to inspect the travel kit. I discovered I failed to pack the 12-volt power supply.
Next day I called Action Computer Avada. In response to my Telephone inquiry, I was advised to bring the apparatus to their store. They sell a 12-volt unit with a variety of connecting cable tips.
Later we drove to the store and bought exactly what would work, for a reasonable price. Thanks for the service you provide.
I would recommend doing some research before purchasing or servicing here. Often times there are better prices out there! However when you shop here you can be certain that they will treat you right. I had an issue with pricing on a machine I bought and didn't end up using, and was personally contacted by Jeff, one of the managers for Action Computers. He was very nice and understanding to my situation, and offered me a deal that benefited both of us to solve the situation. I still think they are very pricy from everything I have seen, so I would imagine their services are pricy too.
TLDR- Prices are too high, but staff are very good and trustable. Ask your kids for help fixing your electronics, and buy electronics new. (Theyre not that much more expensive..!)
i had bought 2 computers previously from them had no problems then started to have a problem with one motherboard went to them to get another one took 3 weeks to get it in they lost it for 2 days and when i received it i went to install it found out it was the wrong motherboard took it back they ordered it again it took 2 weeks to get it in i installed it the computer wouldn't boot up i took it to them to see if i had installed it wrong they had the same problem they told me it was ether the processor or the motherboard but they recommend a new computer due to age i told them it had to be the motherboard if you install the old one it works but all i wanted was a new motherboard and was told i had to buy another one because it was over the 30 warranty when i got the computer back i was having more trouble with wi-fi connection, all but one motherboard screw is striped and wires hanging all over

I'm a systems/network admin at my company and find it hard to get to microcenter. This place has a wide array of parts that are usually hard to find and expensive because they aren't made anymore. I can't speak to their diagnostic skills or repair prices, but I can say they have excellent customer service.
I will most certainly be back and will be checking with them before hitting up Microcenter. I love supporting small businesses and we need these guys to succeed. Please continue to support them.
I thought this store was awesome. The people were nice and helpful for me. I was only looking for a USB PCI card so it wasn't real technical but they were helpful and the price was better than online shops like newegg. All the used and new gear looked reasonably priced to me. I will be shopping here again for sure.
Josh took time to answer all of my questions (and I had a lot) and I only came in to buy a monitor cable. I ended up bringing in my computer for diagnostics and to ask more questions. The staff was friendly and knowledgable and they have a good selection of accessories and used machines.

I have been a customer of action computers for a while and they are the only place i go for computer's and service they have always helped me and there products are always my choice. There staff are always there to help I would recommend them to any one.
Went in to buy a power supply for my desk top. Knew I needed one but I wanted to make sure I got the right one. They wanted to "check in" my computer for $15 to identify the power supply then order one and put it in for me. Pretty silly response to someone who wants to buy products. Autozone has never wanted to "check in" my car to make sure I buy the right battery. Went to Microcenter and the helped me out quick. Avoid this place if you can.

Years ago i would have given this place five stars, but my last couple visits have been not so great. They still have a decent selection, but their focus seems to be more of selling and salesmanship. As a developer i am constantly needing hardware, but still for that price ill go to microcenter insteas

Lots of options regarding what you want in any aspects of computers. If you need repair work and/or diagnosis for whatever, they are extremely thorough and reasonably priced.
I went in there for what I believed would be an easy, quick fix. I have a Dell Laptop that is quite old (as far as laptops go). After downloading a program it couldn't handle, it had to restart and revert to an earlier system when it worked. This erased Google Chrome as well and this meant that I had NO WAY to get on the internet (I use it for work, internet is essential). I called the Dell Tech support and they were only happy to help, but for a fee and they wouldn't tell me how much it would be just that it would cost me. I wasn't about to pay an unknown amount for phone support so I declined, hung up and ran over to Action Computers. I was aware of Action Computers as a few people I knew had already recommended them to me in the past in general conversation about computers. The young man who helped me was very nice, knew what he was doing and had it fixed in less than 10 minutes. And I had been right, Chrome was uninstalled, just needed to be reinstalled, but hard to do with no access internet :) He didn't even charge me, though I would have been happy to pay. I was never talked down to or berated or made to feel stupid even if my tech/computer knowledge is less than theirs (let's admit, that can be a problem). After he fixed my laptop, I started asking questions about laptops available in their shop because I know the current one will need to be replaced at some point given its daily use and age. He didn't try to point me to more than I needed, listened and respected my budget and data requirements, and gave solid advice and information. I will most certainly return to them for any computer support needs as well as to replace the current laptop when I need to. Couldn't have been happier.
I was looking for a media card for my husband to surprise him and am really not good with computer things. So I went in with a rough idea of what he was needing. The sales manager and the other gentleman were very helpful in answering my questions and they gave me a great suggestion and some great prices. I saw some computers in there too and they looked great. I will be back to buy more things from this great company.
I recently purchased a used computer here. The charger died and I came to purchase another one. There was a sign requiring a mask stating it was issued by state authorities . This location is in Arvada and not enforceable. Secondly it also said you couldn t enter unless you have a medical condition which I do. This employee didn t even know his own sign when I explained that with a medical condition I can come in. I was asked to stand outside. Whwn I was finally allowed in I placed the charger in the counter and he asked me to back up. I had had enough. There is no common sense here and I won t be coming back to support this small business. I guess amazon will get my business if I can t get a charger at Like new PCs .
Although I did not purchase from Action Computers in Arvada I did call them on the phone and I believe the gentleman's name was Scott who was extraordinary helpful! It's so nice to get Great customer service even if I'm not face to face or able to purchase at this time!

Took my computer in after I bent the pins in my cpu to all heck. (yeah, don't laugh...) The guys there were very helpful. I needed my computer back ASAP because my daughter needed to get her homework off of it and turned in the next day. They checked it out, fixed it, gave me a good price for parts and labor and I took home a faster, cleaned up computer same day. And my kid turned in her homework and got an A!

Highly recommend! Solid quality enterprise level computers as well as many custom build options. They sell laptops and desktops with i5/i7 processors ssd & hdds with upgradable RAM and windows pro for better prices than most stores computers running i3s or worse. Plus they have a 6 month warranty and they really know their stuff!

These guys are great - I wanted information on piecing together my own custom build computer and needed help figuring out the final steps of the plan. They had EVERYTHING I needed, included discount CPUs.
I recommended them to my school that's looking for a computer lab - they have multiple computers of the same make/model that are perfect for a lab or office installation. Not to mention they had in stock just about every kind of laptop power cord known to man.
So that stuff is great, but honestly the best part was the people. They didn't make me feel incompetent for asking questions, and they were patient to explain and show me what I needed to know. That's worth a LOT all by itself.

Just needed a replacement charger for an old laptop I'm fixing for my neighbor. The guy behind the counter knew the right type from 10 feet away, sold me a used one for 17 bucks and change. The shop up the street wanted 50 for the wrong charger. Nice and easy.
Picked up a vintage laptop to perform basic tasks today. The shop was clean and well organized. The staff was very friendly, knowledgable and very helpful. I would recommend this location to a friend and I will return as a customer. Thank you for the great work Dusty.
So i go in here looking for PC parts, and first thing that got me was they were overcharging HEAVILY. then I asked to see their CPUs, the Bald guy brings my 3 CPUS, and the one I was interested in (AMD FX Black) was in its box and the box was opened I might add.
Then I asked if it was used and he said "its new" in a rude tone. I then continued to inspect it thinking it may have just been opened but never used, until I saw THERMAL PASTE ON THE DAMN CPU, then I was laughing inside when he said the price: 80$. i simply Walked out and never plan on returning. nobody should come here expecting not to get ripped off.
Buy online or @ Micro-center, its a drive, but well worth it compared to these shady hole in the wall con artists.

A small shop that sells refurb and office resale computers, monitors, and components. While I prefer to shop locally, their prices aren't really that competitive. Many of their systems can be had for almost half as much online. If you need a cheapo computer or monitor today? Go here. The staff is nice enough, if not a little clueless (I overheard a member of staff trying to help a customer who wanted to buy a new computer but needed to transfer the files of his old one. The staff member started talking about setting both computers up and then using an ethernet patch cable and transferring files that way. What? Just plop the old drive into the new box!) So I guess don't go here if you need advice... or low prices...
Left my computer on a Saturday with the word being it would be done that day or Sunday. I call sunday for an update and am told the shop is closing early so it will be monday if they even open then. Monday at the time they open I had a call telling me they couldn't fix my computer. These guys dont have their stuff together and I dont reccomend them for any project bigger than installing pretty lights or an anti virus.

I called looking for a door charger port for my Chromebook. They acted like I was speaking Japanese and had no clue. For a store that fixes computers not knowing the charger port on the most expensive Chromebook is kind of odd. They then told me that I could drive then all the way to their store just to show them a picture of what charger it needs so they still didn t understand that I needed a port. I don t know I just decided to call someone else. I m definitely not gonna pay for the repair when it s a seven screw thing I can fix myself I just need the part.
These guy's have a great inventory of parts so you can repair thing's yourself.
I've only purchased parts, never a PC. I don't buy prebuilt. Personally feel better about putting in exactly what I want not what's pushed by the big brand companies.
