Funky decor and good vibes. Definitely go with the wings, they are crispy and flavorful no matter the flavor (there s only 4 flavors). My friend got a Diet Coke and ended up with flat RC cola but we didn t complain because the water was good and there s no point in worrying about a soda. The service was awesome (Alyssa) and the food came out crazy fast. Solid wing joint would definitely go back

For the place that claims to have created the chicken wings, I found them to be subpar. Are they tasty? Maybe...Are they the best? Not even close.

The whole experience was a drag. My family and I ordered 20 wings and entrees. The wings came with all the entrees, the food was luke warm at best. The buffalo burger I ordered was mediocre at best, so if you want a burger go to the Wendy's across the street. (At least they care about service). The wings, though crispy, were lacking that 'original' flavor they clam so famously.

The service was by far the worst part of the experience. I'm not sure if they were understaffed, but the waitress came by the table twice. Once to take our order and then again to deliver the food. They need to organize and train their servers much better.

Overall it was a bad experience. Would I recommend it to anyone else? Not unless you're looking for a tacky restaurant with poor wings and a terrible service. I think I could get better wings from a gasoline station in than this place.

A cool place, but it may be a bit overhyped. The wings were good, but just pretty average. Didn't have that much sauce on them. I think this place is more about saying you've had buffalo wings at the restaurant they originated in, rather than saying you've had the best buffalo wings.

Completely fine buffalo wings. The "hot" was described as about like Frank's Red Hot, which it was. Unfortunately, the homemade sauce pretty much tasted like Franks, which is a decent sauce, but the inventor of the wing should be able to easily outperform a bottled sauce from McCormick. If the sauce had been great I could have forgiven the lack of variety of other sauces compared to, say, Buffalo Wild Wings. The traditional wings were the best, the boneless could have used a bit less breading, though the potato wedges that came with the latter were the best part of the food. Kitchen seemed to send everything up in big batches, so it took quite a while even though the restaurant didn't seem full. Breadth of tasty local beers on tap, including one with a cinnamon-sugar rim for fall, yum. A number of locals and regulars, including a restauranteur couple, but also a bunch of tourists like myself buying t-shirts. Decor is fun and they seem to have a complete set of public safety uniform patches. All the locals I spoke to afterwards recommended Duff's, which unfortunately does not have a location in Buffalo proper.

The original wings still hold up. We ordered and ordered again. They are delicious and borderline addictive.
Even with the large crowd things move along quickly. Our drinks were cold and the food came out hot, while working through the numerous other orders and amounts of customer there with us.
We also got to chat with a couple current New York Jets that we re enjoying themselves there before the game.

I liked it. We were at Niagra falls for the day, and drove here for dinner just to say we've been there. We only had to wait 10-15 mins, and it was early, 5-6 pm, on a saturday night.

I ordered 20 wings hot and fries. My GF ordered something akin to boneless chick wings/nuggets? medium. For some reason my wings took a long time to come out. Waitress didn't know why. Ate my fries. Since my GF's plate was just HUGE, full of these chicken bites (i don't remember what they actually called them, but there were a lot) I had some of hers. Realized then that the medium would have been the right amount of heat for me. Too late, wings finally showed up. I could handle the hot, they weren't too bad. I only ate 12 and took the rest back to the hotel. For me, medium is flavor with a tingle on the lips. Hot was a burn, but not unbearable. Got the shirt, met the owner, had a good time.

Really cool decorations on the walls and you can tell that the restaurant has some history. We went there to try the wings since legend has it that this is the place where the eponymous buffalo wing was invented. Let's just say there are better wings at other locations. Still worth a visit though if you are in town.

Made a trip down to the home of chicken wings. There is alot of history and memorabilia all around the restaurant which is cool and makes for a good atmosphere. The wings are simple - no breading - straight wings and sauce after. Can go to a number of other restaurants and pubs and get better wings. If you love wings it nice for the novelty of the history - you're not going to have the best wings there.

World famous original chicken wings. Yes it s original and not breaded frozen ones out there. The sauces and rub are awesome. Habenero rub is my favourite. Love their chicken soup and buffalo chicken sandwich. For vegan strawberry pecan salad should try. Friendly staff and great service. We have visited from Michigan and great to see they have recently opened one in Michigan as well.

A one star rating was as low as I can go, I stopped in the Buffalo area grabbed some wings to go, because they smelled absolutely great. However, when I received my order, it was oily, and didn't have any sauce on it. Since I was in flight, I couldn't return the order and request a new one. Beware of Buffalo Anchor Bar inside, Buffalo International airport and do a wing check.

Came in starving left even hungrier. Ordered 10 wings and an order Boneless Wings and Fries. 10 wings came out quickly, Boneless never came out. Bartenders was great and awesome, manager was ineffective. First and probably last trip was memorable for the wrong reasons. Ivano would not be happy!!

The wings were delicious. I did not enjoy the cockroach that I had to kill there. The place is not very clean at all. I think that they need a management change to clean up the place.

Great historic place to eat! There is lots to look at while you wait. We had lunch, which was tasty, and the waitress was friendly and fast. Our food came back very quickly, and it was a great lunch.

Love the atmosphere of the iconic anchor bar! Wings are awesome and the beer is too (according to my husband, I'm not much of a beer drinker). One of the our favourite bars in the area!

Nothing special just edible pasta n meatballs.didnt try the wings but witnessed many customers who had to have there to go orders corrected before they left.it seemed the kitchen had issues my eat in order took two attempts to correct and was pasta and meatballs.if I ever go back it would be to try the wings and only if they are not busy.the kitchen clearly has issues when they are busy.almost every to go order that left when I was there had issues and finally left with the statement. "once again sorry about that"

Fun place - history in the creation of the Buffalo Wing, if you ever had a wing anywhere you need to stop and pay tribute to the origin of one of the best bar foods ever. Have to stop at the original location. The decor is fun. Bartenders are friendly.

Our to go place for the original Buffalo wings. It was our son's bday and went around 9pm on a Sunday. Web site reads open until 10 pm. Being a party of 5, they want to seat at the bar because they were 'already cleaning up the place'.. had to beg to get a table. Ended up having a good time.

Wings, hands down the best ever. Nice lady working the gift shop. Bar and bartenders could've been better. They didn't have the ingredients to make 2 of the very basic drinks I asked for and the bartender seemed to be annoyed by me asking for something other than beer.

Amazing.

The original and the best wings. We were there waiting in line at opening time, seated promptly and our waitress was helpful in helping us decide our order. The large wings arrived hot, juicy and saucy. The jalapeno poppers were ok, hard on the crunch but flavour of the jalepeno was soso. Small quality selection of local brews.

Great stop on our trip through New York state. Anchor Bar was a great choice for dinner. We were a little concerned about the place being kid friendly but that was soon as non issue once we arrived. If your in the area you would be happy with this stop. We had 10 wings, spinach and cheese ravioli and a few salads. My oldest daughter had spaghetti. All of it was delicious.

Came on a Saturday night. Sat right at a bar table which is mostly self service but the bartenders were helpful. Wings were solid, I had expected crappy tourist trap wings but was surprised to actually enjoy them, not undercooked with good crunch and flavor.

This is not worth the visit or your time. Bathrooms are gross and falling apart. Wait staff acts like they don't care. Food sucks. Historic or not there is no reason to visit this establishment for any reason.
