After 14 years I had a wire come loose on my battery connector. Called the company and they sent me new connectors, even though the warranty has long expired. Technical support was downright friendly and obviously cared about me as a customer.
After my ESL5 lock drained countless batteries, I changed to a new ESL5 but it was a different voltage and fried the lock inside my AMSEC safe. AMSEC covered the repairs and warrantied out a new ESL10 and had a locksmith open my door for me. Gil and Sophia at AMSEC came through and save the day. Thank you AMSEC.
I have purchased various safes for home and business use. The quality is great & I am pleased with their customer service. Overall, pleased with the product & experience that I have recommended to friends and family who have also purchased safes.
Purchase a large gun safe in May of 2012. Three service calls later still not fixed. I would never purchase this product again. Crap product and crap service.
Have had my safe for over 20 years. It was a close out floor model at Turners. 6030 with tumbler and single handle. I love the safe
The dial tumbler has worked flawlessly . Looking at the price of safes now I paid half of what they are now but they are still worth it.the investment.
Within 5 minutes of putting stuff in this safe my keypad fried out and locked me out. I've spent weeks trying to contact their customer service and they keep scheduling calls with me that they never make. All i want to do is return this thing and I can't because it has my stuff locked in it. Terrible product, even worse service.
I own a Amsec DL 4000 safe which I bought about 8 years ago. The compartment for the battery compartment became corroded and would no longer transmit the electric signal to the controller.
I called your company and spoke to service and asked for a replacement part. I was told you not longer stock the part and the my only solution was to buy a new safe which meant not only buying the safe but ripping open the wall since it is built into my home.. That seemed ridiculous to me. So rather than accept your ridiculous instruction, I went to Fry s electronic and swapped out the part for a functioning substitute and have the safe now working $ 3.96.
You should know better than that and at least recommend some solutions for this minor problem even if you no longer stock the exact part.
Shame on your service department for not knowing what to do.
It s 8pm PST. Worked a 12 hour shift during Am Sec s operational hours and came home to find I m locked out of my safe. I have training in the morning and no way to get out equipment required for said training. Tried calling the after hours number a few times, no luck.
After using google to find some answers, I come to learn just about everyone has issues with my safes electronic lock, the ESL5. I didn t spend so much money on a safe to be SOL.
Update: The emergency after hours number never called me so don't bother with that. I called first thing in the morning and they can't help in any way but to tell you to call the dealer you purchased the safe from. Even though I've now missed work training, I asked for a replacement electronic lock and was declined.
Update: 11am PST came around, contacting Am Sec and the authorized dealer back and forth about 10 times total. Very long story short, the end result - paying a locksmith $600 for parts and labor for an $800 safe.
The safe was purchased 05/2017. Just two years! But, sorry, you are out of warranty. Am Sec has failed in every way, retail sales, customer service, and support. I highly recommend buying another brand. If I could give 0 stars, I would.
Update: 2 days have gone by and my replacement lock and keypad arrived curtious of Am Sec. Out of my own picket, I had to hire a technician to come out and break into the safe and install the new lock and keypad sent to me. Estimates for the job averaged $450-650, nearrly the cost of the safe new. Am Sec, knowing my safes serial numbers, sent items that are not compatabile with my safe. Now im left with a large metal paper weight and a new lock and keypad that serve no purpose. THANKS AM SEC!
I have an issue with a well known problem of the EXL5 that when replacing the battery it will lose or rest the lock. I am now locked out of my underbed gun safe and the place it was purchased said they have had nothing but problems with these safes and that is why they stopped carrying them. I called 3 timee and have gotten blown off twice, the third finally said I need to have the place where I purchased the safe call on my behalf (they refussed to do it because they have had a horrable time getting a hold of customer service or getting a hold of someone who can help.) I have now only one other solution according to customer service at Amsec I have to get a locksmith to help me. I got this safe as a gift from my wife and I hate to have to tell her that this safe is a piece@ not good. Sad to say that sometimes it does not pay off to go local.
Update: this company me throu and fixed the problem. Wish all companies stepped up like American Security. Thanks!
I just received most recent order including the PS1210HD. I happened to read the box... Made in USA? VERY nice. Surprising to see any of the smaller sized items made here. I hope that is a sign of more models shifting to US Product. We were dissapointed when products such as the UL and BF Series were outsourced. So, KUDOS.
Also, Kudos on the overall design of this extra heavy duty pistol safe. This is a beast. The lighter PS1210EZ, though not as beefy as this one, is ALSO FAR superior to the PB1 and PB2 of days gone by.
One client noted that he would have loved an in-the-wall form factor of this type of construction.
Keep up with new great ideas, and I will be ordering in more of your product.
NOTE: the new stylish nameplate is VERY nice... but it is not fastened to the safe. The name plate needs 3M Performance adhesive. I glued it with a very aggressive adhesive we use here.
We appreciate the use of the Simplex lock mechanism. Most pistol safe clients do NOT want electronics. Simplex quality had dipped some years back, but they addressed any issues, and since have been great. So using this more expensive component will be appreciated by many.
We have been an Amsec dealer since 1979, though I think we still are off your site, please fix it!
