They use to help people. I reached out when my mom passed away..they couldn't help. She lived in Kentucky so it was a big problem. They offered nothing.

I was told prior to taking the BLS class that it was accredited by the American heart association. And after taking the class I found out that although it follows the guidlines of AHA it is not actually recognized by them. I talked to Ishmael regarding this as I took time off work and paid for the class believing it was recognized by AHA as told prior to signing up for the class. The phone representative was extremely rude to me and accused me of lying- he was very unprofessional and told me i was just after a refund, I was very offended by this and how he spoke to me. I do want to say though that the class was very informative and well done by the trainers.
This is in response to the previous comment. The American Red Cross follows the same Emergency Cardiac Conference guidelines as the AHA. For the record, I teach BLS classes for both and the ARC is a superior product. All neutral or unaffiliated organizations - including all Government Regulatory Agencies - accept both as equivalent, but there is nothing that requires the AHA itself to accept ARC. You are mad at the wrong organization. I do think you have a valid concern regarding how you were spoken to on the phone though.
We are there to help all people when a Disaster occurs and the community needs help. we have the resources no one has to go without food, clothing , shelter .
