American Palace Hotel Review

Hotel after reconstruction, clean new rooms, great mattress in bed, weaker breakfast

At the terminus of the subway line but not so far from that Termini station where everything crosses and leaves to Rome. Count 35 minutes to go to Termini, walking between the hotel and station Laurentina, terminus station. Restoration room a little sound. Nice staff.

BED BUGS!!!!

Spent 3 nights at this lousy place, which is advertised as a four-star hotel but in reality is closer to a one-star dormitory. The first night we couldn't sleep because of the noise - walls are paper thin and the windows vibrate heavily each time a bus or truck passes by. So we complained the next morning and got moved to another room on the other side of the building. That room turned out to be an utter nightmare, with a toilet that cannot be properly flushed and ... and freakin bed bugs! I've got swollen bites all over my body.

If you don't want your hotel experience ruin your visit to Rome, stay away from this estanlishment.

Average quality just from the look at the entrance.

The fixed price buffet restaurant allows you to dine abundantly choosing from a wide range of preparations. Good quality.

Dilapidated structure and of poor quality in the services offered .....

Shame the treatment by hotel staff, they charge for the wifi and the rooms are not good. Not at all credible those 4 stars.

Again.. 1 star for the fresh look.. they may be freshly renovated but the place is far from perfect. Finishes of walls and cornaces are B grade, definitely no QA in the building process.. dinner was slapped on a plate which made us not even bother with breakfast, only to hear it was worth not going down anyway. Dining room is loud and echo's. Very flat surfaces make for noise levels to rise very quickly with everyone trying to talk over the top of each other.. It's a long way for management to go to get it right. FYI.. there are no bars in the area either to have a night cap and the hotel is reluctant to let you have a drink in the seating area.

Too bad it's far from the center, but the rest is a whole 10!

in the services nn there is parking, one thinks they need it near the metro.Then call and they tell you if you want to park pay 15 euros more. I am speechless

Comfortable and reserved. The restaurant is not adequate for a 4 star. Not varied breakfast and with many frozen foods

It's not bad. The buffet is above average. And the staff is very friendly.

Business hotel with an advantageous price paid 65 per night in B&B, also used meeting room with natural light. Basic breakfast, the only drawback is the dinner I don't recommend.

Location is 200mt from Laurentina metro station, so it is quite convenient if you plan to take public transportation. Rooms are a little small but since the building is quite old it can be fine. Service is very supportive and kind.

Excellent location, with plenty of shops nearby and the tube just 3 mins walking. Beautiful rooms and impeccable service, the area is quiet, safe and beautiful too with the nearby lake just 10 mins walking.

I only saw the conference room which is very clean and well maintained

Nice location next to the metro. Rooms were a good size. Pillows could use some work but they were alright. Breakfast was good.

Excellent structure. The staff is always courteous and helpful. Too bad the rooms are very hot. Apart from that the room has a nice design and is comfortable.

Hotel is located on busy traffic road. A lot of inconvenience, even at night. Rooms small, bathroom very small, breakfast good but messy. Staff friendly. Beds good.

We lost our bags when we left them in the slogans and we spent awful nights because of the noise in that area at night.

Clean modern basic and functional rooms, friendly and nice receptionists while the only girl I saw and who received us should greatly improve his customer approach, good morning or good evening not even a minimum of courtesy ..; after all it is his job then that he does it well and with a minimum of passion.

Not sure why people are rating this a little bit low, but I have been around the world and back and this place is fabulous. For anyone wanting to tour Rome, this is perfect.
Had a great time.

Shower leaked, breakfast poor and lack of variation! Plastic cutlery and cups, double bed is two singles pushed together. No manners and ignorant staff! On a busy main road! Definitely would not return and very disappointed!

The hotel is comfortable efficient clean, great colazione.La multiplies the distance from the center will cost.

Probably the worst room I've ever been to. And I use to go to HoStels. So imagine. Very small room, shower directly on the floor without cortains, a plug broken, no space to even open the suitcase...
I only save the breakfast.

Is very pleased with the hotel. Due to work, I had to choose a hotel outside the city center, but it is close to both the metro, restaurants, grocery store and gym. The rooms start to get worn but work very well. Positive with well-functioning air conditioning and fridge in room. The hotel's restaurant serves a tasty buffet in the evening for a reasonable sum. The fitness room in the hotel is nothing to brag about.

The stay in the American Palace lived up to expectations as was the cleanliness in the room and in the well-furnished common areas.
The staff was very polite, kind and helpful.

Great location, pleasant staff and all is well until you get into bed.....early Oct I spent two nights there (out of 4 planned) and had to move out because of bed bugs. Yes, this hotel is infested. Woke up in the middle of the first night with bites and crawlies all over the bed. They moved me to a new room and same thing happened the next night. I checked out.

Disgusting bed bugs! Left this hot covered in huge red bug bites.
Don't stay here. Even without bed bugs, the food was not very good at the restaurant and the staff were unfriendly. Sink kept backing up from the moment we checked in.

Very modern, though far from the city center, but close to the metro MB.

Nice room and hotel but unfortunately the walls are not sound-proofed at all... I can hear everything people are saying in the room next door. It's almost as loud as if they were in my room. Not ideal when you are just trying to relax but have to listen to someone else talking or watching TV. What we're the architects thinking? On the good side, free parking nearby and 5 minute walk to the metro.

Average prices. Small and "vintage" rooms. Poor breakfast for quality.

We went with a group of 150 middle school boys, an agreed menu, pasta with vegetables and second course fish, .... At dinner we had pasta with meat sauce and breaded cutlet !!! ... Maybe they didn't understand Italian, since it is called American palace ... But they were Italian, they meant surely more with the French tourists who were guests of the hotel who looked at us as if we came from the planet Mars ...
I could go on to list the negativity of qs hotel but I will stop here.

It's a great place to stay. The hotel is very clean and the staff is very kind and helpful. Breakfast is really good. The location is also very good as it's close to the metro station. Please note that the rooms don't have a coffee machine or a kettle.

You pay 4 stars but it's worth 2.
Mediocre services far from the standard of a 4 star.
The experience starts very badly with the girl at the reception who was anything but hospitable at the reception, rather surly because I asked if I could check-in at 11:30 am to leave the car in the hotel parking lot. Ah ... the hotel parking is outdoors and costs only 15,50.

What can I say, even if the rooms are really nice and clean, it was an experience to forget.
