I love American National I've had my policies with this company since 2004 haven't had any problems with this company I would recommend this company to anyone that needs insurance and the prices are great

Have trouble getting answers about a loan on my insurance policy to my satisfaction, never answered what I needed to know, had trouble getting anyone that would talk to me.
The worst thing is that they do not want to pay me an accident that my car had a month ago I'm fighting with these people is the worst I do not recommend people who work and never want to solve the problem until 1 in the afternoon and Friday they do not always work, they tell you that if you can leave a message, I do not recommend them, they are the worst insurance in texas

Refused. Me to borrow LOAN against MY Own policy that im the policy owner!! I'm disgusted as my daughter needs Surgery . Sad as this company had buried many relatives including my mother 10 yrs ago. I am truly truly sickened as he has a job and was trying to be therapist about my home life and Mr Joseph Williams should keep it professional and not get in Clients home or personal life. I called the Tx Corp to get my loan. Would not recommend. I also recived no apologizes .

fail to answer phone.. i have been on hold for 21 minutes, waiting for a representative, but thank you for your patience .. got a bad feeling about this company.. 24 minutes now.. and still holding, edit.. 24 minutes to answer phone.. lady that did answer was very pleasant. . Gave me answer to all questions. .very happy with her..5stars for her customer service. .

I just advised my sister to file a law suite against the company. Her mom passed months ago and the insurance company failed to pay out on the policy and continues to give her the run-a-round. American National is TERRIBLE Company!!! I Give the company a ZERO STAR!
Don't purchase insurance from this company, they have a severe lack of IT Management & enforcing processes. Earlier this year one of their employee's had their laptop stolen with the encryption pin written on a sticky note and taped to it. The laptop also had years and years of customer data locally saved, hence the thief had access to customer data breaching this personal information. Further more the AVP of IT was given knowledge that the former CFO had several gigs of company financial data saved locally to his hard drive, and did nothing about it, to this day saving customer's information locally is still a common practice.

I was told to pay my premiums by check because they couldn't accept credit cards or set up a bank account on the file. After several months I cancelled and went with another health insurance provider. Mysteriously, the following month I was charged directly from my bank account a premium that I never sent a check in for...how did they charge me without a check being written when they made me mail checks for the past few months?? Why was I being charged at all when I have a letter of proof of cancelling? This is 2018 ANICO, get your act together.
I've had enough ,I have had 5 different insurance reps on a hail damage claim . The information provided to each rep has been lost or not added to my file. Called company hq and customer service just transfers you to a voicemail which the message is 2 month out of date . The customer service actually hung up on me when I said a return call in 24 -48 hour was unacceptable.
My experience with ANICO has been nothing pleasant. The numerous excuses that I have received regarding my the money on my 20-year old policy is luacris. ANICO has sent me in circles since June 2016 with excuse after excuse as why my required paperwork regarding my money is a problem for them. I find it sad that upon each denied request from me, NOT once was I contacted by anyone from the company to inform that my paperwork was unacceptable. After each phone call with a customer service rep, I had them walk me through the process of ensuring the forms are filled out completely. I am now on my SIXTH request of the same form only to be told that I signed the paper work with my initials. What kind of crap is that????? Really???? Who are you to tell people HOW TO WRITE IN CURSIVE???? ANICO is very shady and conniving continuing to withhold pertinent info needed to access the money on my 20-year policy. I have read other reviews that indicate clients having the exact same problems. It seems as though this company would like for clients to become frustrated and give up or cancel the policy. ANICO is already gaining a ton of money on this policy which is of no good to me and family anyway. The least you could do is treat clients with respect and train your customer service reps to assist clients.
called to check on a policy for My Dad Policies this week, I was told last year that My Dad had 3 policies, Now all of a sudden. He has 2 policies, 1 has mysteriously disappeared.
This company is terrible!!! Don't use them if you want insurance that will pay out when you need it! They are happy to take our money every month, but when we had a claim at our home they have refused to pay what it's worth and it has drug out 8 months and counting!!! Just horrific!
Turn off the damn lights at night. What's the legitimate reason for having them on when the building isn't open for business?
Edit: This is how a good company does business! When informed of the devastation to migrating songbirds caused by leaving the flood lights on at night, this company stood up and did something to correct it. Way to go!
They need to shut off their lights at night and stop killing birds! They killed 400 migrating warblers and orioles in ONE NIGHT because they feel the need to light up their building at night.
