Amari Palm Reef Resort Review

The main lobby and restaurant are very nice but the garden wing rooms are out dated and do not match the same standards.
Our room was about a 5 minute walk from the lobby and backs onto a garbage dump followed by a airport runway so does get a bit noisy.
The breakfast was very good with many options available. The hotel staff were friendly.
For the money paid we expected a higher standard of room.

Hotel was nice but the pool was to shallow.

Stayed here with my husband for our anniversary. Room has nice modern decor. I believe the resort was newly renovated at that time. Very impressive breakfast buffet. Fresh juices, selection of cold cut and cheese, and even dim sum! Since then we have been going back to Amari just for the breakfast

Good hotel in great location north end of chaweng. Good breakfast selection. Garden wing pool service on some days was slow and hard to find the waiter. Couldn't find any pool side toilets so had to keep going back to our room.
Good sized rooms, comfy bed, good selection of channels to watch.
2 free bottles of water in the room everyday.

Service was fantastic and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was 100% clean and tidy

Excellent location for families 15 minutes by foot from the center of things. Excellent service and pampering, excellent breakfasts. Warmly recommended.

Fantastic place to stay !!
My wife and I are only staying here for 3
nights, but we've had such a great time we wish it could've been longer.
Firstly the staff are absolutely amazing & are so friendly.
We're staying in one of the Deluxe pool view rooms which is big enough for 2 & is so clean.
Food is superb, pools are great, location is great,10 mins from the airport & only a short walk (10/15 mins ) along the main strip, loads of bars & restaurants.
Next visit to Ko Samui we'll be staying at the Amari !!
Its our first visit to Thailand but we'll definitely be back.
Thanks again for a great 3 days.

We stayed at the resort for 7 nights and could not fault it - the staff were wonderful and great fun and the breakfast bar was amazing - we had a fantastic time.

Good hotel. Please note that only some of the rooms are on the sea side. The bulk is on the other side of the road. Do not go to the buffet that the hotel restaurant on the beach organizes. All the food there is tasteless. By the way, the restaurant itself is tastier and better. But not on the beach!

The supervisor Pen was very sweet as she kept a very upbeat attitude. She went out of her to make sure every meal you had was to perfection and that you were always taken care of. Very good food, very well priced. I wish I would of stayed there rather then SALA.

Excellent location . Facing a quiet beach by a natural sea break. The food is varied and tasty, with a choice of dishes. Not far from the bustling center.

My wife twisted her ankle during a walk in the street. At 4 am we called the reception and the receptionist was so helpful. She simply took care of EVERYTHING.

Excellent, fun, clean, excellent service, amazing beach.

The resort is ideally situated near the beach and it is walking distance to good restaurants (e.g. Prego, Italian restaurant) and outlet shops. The resort has very good amenities and the staff are accommodating. It felt good that the staff and the managers took the time to talk to us and made sure that we enjoyed our stay in the resort and that we had everything we needed. Mam, the Dining manager, was very attentive and friendly. I would highly recommend this resort.

A great hotel with very good service, nice rooms. The location right on the beach! A breakfast buffet, which probably even the busiest Whiner should turn the language! To me, how have we felt very well.

Everything was perfect, the staff could not do enough. Real luxury holidays at an affordable price where you can let yourself be pampered.

The Amari Koh Samui is an amazing hotel. There is a beach wing and Thai Village Wing, which is on the opposite side of the road. The beach wing is most convenient for using the beach and beach pool and the restaurants. Prego restaurant is one of the best Italian restaurants on the island, make sure to try it.

Well, This place is amazing. The rooms, the cafe, the pool, the beach. Everything!!
We had a superior garden view room which was at the end and hence long walk from room to beachside. The reception is in the building near beach while most rooms (apart from beach view) are across the road. Not too bad as it seems, both sides have separate pools.
I thought insects and bugs would bother us due to the area and some reviews, but inside room it was okay, though spotted a mosquito and ants in bath tub. Corridor have few insects at night near light.
This place has one of the worst service for a four star chain hotel. I called reception, asked for slippers, the lady said okay will be there. 45 minutes, Nothing. Called again and said ive been waiting, can i get slippers. we do have slippers, just sending it, she replied. But well, nothing, they never came.
Again during checkout I asked for a cart to take us to reception along with our luggage. No one came for 20 minutes and we were getting late for flight so dragged the suitcases all the way to reception. No one even took our luggage to taxi.
There is Amaya food gallery. The food is great and breakfast is awesome as well.
Amari is the place to be but be ready to experience not so special treatment.

Very good hotel with great staff, the rooms were a little far but they offered a cart to take us to the room every time. They even decorated our bed and gave us a heart shaped cake (delicious) for our anniversary.

I am appreciating the Amari resorts. its in good location. but inside staff !!! specially when you go for breakfast they treated like a stranger. today we went for breakfast and i asked for tea-bags he said go and get it.. whereas on my next table a person called him and told him to bring coffee.. he said ok sir i am bringing..why this inequality..?? does amari staff gives the training like that to discriminate..

Relaxing and trouble free stay. My room was gorgeous, had everything we needed with a nice view of the garden. Service was always great. Both pools were gorgeous to swim in. Everything was clean. The buffet breakfast is definitely a highlight of the trip! Will go back again!

Great hotel, good rooms. Was there 4 times from 1994 - 1999. Unfortunately, then tourism has destroyed much, Chaweng is as loud and worse as El Arenal in Mallorca. The first time there was no road, 99 was a giant construction site. But Amari is super beautiful, and a nice memory.

THE nicest hostel I have ever stayed in. Five star comfort and service from start to finish. Situated directly on the beach with a large pool also. The bedrooms are immaculate and clean, the food amazing and the cocktails even better. Expensive but worth every single penny.

The hotel is pretty and everything has been refurbished this year.

Cheeky room classification: On booking a superior room with a pool view l, I was given one with a view of a very large bush. Although agreeing to move straight away it took an hour for my luggage to be collected and transferred.

Mold!! : Having spent the night in the new room it became apparent that they have a mold problem. Swiftly being moved to room three This time, it appears it's a design flaw of how they have refurbished their bathrooms. I have been moved three times in three days, it was supposed to be a dream holiday and I still have moldy smelly room.

I booked having read the reviews and have been luck to have been moved although the problem persists. If you are coming in busy bewarned they may not have the space to shift you to a spare room!!

The staff are good and effective but not sure what they can do about this. Not had a follow up chat with the manager after the first incident, should really have followed up

Rooms well maintained. Restaurants excellent. Staff super hospitable and managers always enquiring well being of guests. Prego restaurant offered good choices of vegetarian food too!

Both know that Thai people are Both trying to communicate Going back to talk to the foreigners, only one person, so confused that he had to walk away I was the one who chose this school but let my husband make a reservation. But come see this Probably won't come again We are authentic Thai people, do not say no. Is it because we come with foreigners? Sorry. My salary is far more than foreigners.

1)Room cleaning is very basic.
2)They don't change bed sheets.
3)Once they clean they don't take the plates from room dining.
4)On the motorbikes parking they move the motorbikes without the owners permission with a risk to damage them.
5)Next to garden wing is the airport and gets noisy from the planes.
6)Next to the garden wing there is a rubbish dump which they burn rubbish and you get bad smell.
Positives:
1)Breakfast is very nice and good quality.
2)The bed is very comfy.
3)Very fast room service.

A Wonderful Beach Side resort & Spa.
This 5 star, newly renovated Resort has it all! It is located on a secluded part of the 7 KM long "Chewang Beach"... and also has 2 swimming pools. The professionalism of the Resort is indicative of the Management's commitment to serving their clients at the highest level! The nearby town also has lots of action which is appreciated by many travellers--- what with great restaurants, "funky bars" and a variety of services such as massages, water sports, touts etc. The (free) breakfast is a wonderful way to start one's day... and the beach is wonderful for both walking and swimming. The Resort was also awarded TripAdvisor's "Certificate of Excellence". Its a fine place to experience Koh Samui's many delights!
