I am currently fostering-to-adopt Manuka from AMA and they have been an absolute pleasure to work with from the beginning. From the day we sent in our application to foster Manuka, they have been accessible at all times, extremely responsive and highly professional. This is the third major NYC rescue organization we have worked with and by far the easiest experience.
What these miracle workers do for animals is incredible. Our (soon to be) pup, Manuka, was neglected by her previous family after being hit by a car. Her untreated wounds resulted in AMA swooping in to amputate her leg and save her life. Looking forward to Manuka spending the rest of her days care free and in a loving home

Where do I start. I found my new dog online while just browsing for a new pet. Simply going in thinking I was getting a new dog for me and my fiance. Little did I know I was about to save his life and introdce him as a new member of my family to a warm and loving home. Michelle stood by my side the entire fostering period, helped with vet appointments, follow ups, etc. They're doing this out of the kindness of there hearts, in between there normal busy lives. Anna handled the adoption efficient & professional. I can't describe how passionate these women are with there animals. He wasn't the only one who had his life changed, he changed ours as well. Would always recommend someone to go here, you'll get your companion & save it's life at the same time..

I came across a sick kitten (we named her Blue) who must have be just a few months old and she looked pretty sick and weak when I found her. Luckily I was able to get her into the hands of the angels at AMA animal rescue and they ve been so amazing and now this baby has another chance at a great life. I recently adopted a dog from AMA and the experience was truly seamless and wonderful, even with the challenges presented by the Covid-19 pandemic. The pup I adopted has congestive heart failure, so naturally I had many questions regarding his care. Everyone was so kind and answered any questions or concerns I had with absolute honesty. They truly care about these animals and want to ensure that not only is the animal ready for adoption, but that you are too! This is also the first time I adopted a pet and I would gladly do it again with AMA Animal Rescue. The process was so easy thanks to these amazing people. They have truly become family to myself and my husband. We still text and send photo updates to them of our Reesey, and they always answer with genuine joy and happiness! I highly recommend AMA to anyone looking to adopt.
I have worked with AMA in both a foster/adopter and in a professional capacity as a veterinarian, and I have been impressed by their willingness to take on difficult cases but also their respect for our honest recommendations. They have always remained accessible, responsive, and professional when I have worked with them. I am grateful to AMA for being the only organization that was able to answer our call regarding a very injured cat brought in to our facility, and it is thanks to them that I am lucky enough to now claim him as my own.
OMG, people at AMA Animal Rescue are amazing! I had few situations with abandoned and injured cats and a dog and Masha & Anna jumped to help immediately! I was a complete stranger who called/emailed the AMA and all my calls and emails were answered immediately! They also offered their help with posting the ads of my other rescued animals on their website. I have been rescuing cats for the past four years and had been dealing with human cruelty and abuse. And it feels so great to meet people like Masha & Anna and their team! Thank you, thank you for doing such a great job and thank you so much for all your help and kindness, I love you! So many innocent beautiful souls had been saved by your team , keep going!!!

We had the pleasure of working with the ama team in fostering, ama team are always upfront caring and helpful. I have also been to some of their events and they are always so helpful and caring of the animals they help. I was in a situation where I couldn t help this poor cat- I saw her on the street and she was all covered with horrible wounds, I messaged the hot line number of AMA and they responded instantly, give me tips how to trap the cat, and assisted me on the phone for 2 hours (while I was trying to catch her) and offered to rush her to emergency room, and give her the chance, fight for her survival I knew she was given the best possible, and her life was important as it is of any being I m glad someone was there when I needed the most!!! Volunteering at this animal shelter has been really great. Although it has not been long since I've started, I can tell they really care about what they do.
We got our amazing Yorkie-poo, Cookie from AMA over a year ago. They rescued her and twenty-something others from a terrible hoarding situation. They were fantastic to deal with and went to great lengths to make sure we were a good fit. They checked on us a few times and were just wonderful throughout. I recommend them SO highly.
I contacted AMA when I was looking for a dog and Anna took the time to help me by explaining my options and offering very helpful advice on adopting. I ended up adopting a puppy from someone that I found online, and the advice AMA provided guided me towards getting the pup checked out properly by meeting the previous owner at the vet and asking all the right questions.

I ve been supporting AMA for the last 5 years and experienced how they treated animals that they rescue from terrible mistreatment as well as sheltering and help adopt those same animals into loving homes. Nobody does it better. They also have super fun events and galas and a chance to meet and hang out with people.
AMA rescued our future babies in June of 2018. They were found in an abandoned Bronx garage by ACC. AMA pulled them from ACC and found them a foster home to live in. The first foster family took care of them for about four or five months. The second foster family were able to take loving care of them for about five months. We met the second foster family (Jessie and Joanne) in February 2019, when we became interested in taking over their fostering, with the intention to adopt these two little angels from AMA. While bonding with our babies, before fostering them ourselves, we become very close to Jessie and Joanne, as well, and became a family. We started to foster our babies in March of 2019. Shortly thereafter, they were both found to have numerous tumors by their mammary glands. Surgery was performed to remove them. Some tumors were found to be cancerous. Due to the re-occurrence of these tumors , we and AMA thought it best to remove all of their mammary glands, as a precautionary measure. That required two more surgeries each. Michele from AMA, Jessie and Joanne were all there to support and guide us through all of these surgeries and recovery periods. Whenever we had a concern or question, they were quickly there to respond to them. After all their surgeries were completed, we were able to adopt our babies. We have named them Mary and Peanut, formerly known as Mookie and Pooch. Our babies are the most precious gift AMA could have ever given us. AMA paid for all of their medical bills while in foster care. That is why it is so important to make a donation to AMA, so that they can continue rescuing these abandoned precious animals, tend to their medical needs and find them a loving forever home to live in.
I had a great experience working with the AMA team! The communication was always quick, detailed, and frequent. I really appreciate how thorough their process was. I think it helped make our dogs transition into our home go a lot smoother. I highly recommend adopting from AMA!
I would highly recommend adopting/fostering/volunteering with AMA! This was our first experience adopting and the team at AMA was incredible. They are very thorough with ensuring the happiness and wellbeing of the animals they rescue. Throughout our foster-to-adopt time, we texted photo's weekly, they answered any questions we had within minutes and the vets they work with are reliable, and very knowledgeable. I found my dog with AMA and I'm so in love. He's a great pup with minimal training necessary. His personality is really coming out! Although there were a few bumps in the road, the adoption went smoothly and we're a match for each other. Tanoopa, who I worked mostly with, is fantastic. Personable and truly looking out for the best interests of both the animals and potential adopter. There are a lot of shelters out there but if you find your animal through AMA, they will respond and work with you. Thumbs up!
I found AMA online when I was looking to foster a dog. AMA was super helpful in finding my new addition to my family, this loving 4yo Pitbull Mix named Junior .Not only do they provide the best care for their animals, but they provide you with all the information they have on them. If your new addition needs anytype of care whether it is medical or training or a crate, etc. They help provide that to make the fostering that much easier. I fell in love and decided to adopt my Pitbull mix and I couldn't be happier! They helped make the transition easy and i know AMA has the best interest in these animal's lives. 10/10 would reccomend fostering and adoption to everyone! 10/10 would recommend adopting from AMA! Anna, Michelle and Marija have all been such a big help!
AMA is truly the most amazing animal rescue that I have ever visited. You can see how the staff really loves and cares for these animals. One thing that really stuck out to me is how clean the place and the animals were. Maria is very helpful and friendly.

I was introduce to AMA Animal Rescue when I was at Noah's Ark Vet. I was looking to adopt one of their kittens. The Vet tech said she wanted to show me a very friendly kitten name Mary who, was recovering from a broken leg. I liked Mary and was told I would have to go through the rescue.
I contacted the AMA through e mail on their web site. They contacted me within a day. They were very easy to deal with and answered all of my questions.
They did a through check to make sure she went to a good home.
I have to say Mary is a great cat and am very lucky to have her. The rescue takes a great interest in all their rescues even after they are adopted.
Mary was in excellent health when I adopted her.
I recommend if you are looking to adopt a cat or a dog check out this rescue organization.

Found a stray cat in our mechanic shop, hiding out from the cold weather, took him to the this place and they took the poor fella right away, no questions or unnecessary paperwork very easy process. Hope he feels better and finds a new home.
I ve been lucky enough to get some volunteer time with this organization. They interviewed me via email and in person so it s obvious they care about who they allow to spend time with their animals. The facility is clean and organized, all animals are clearly well cared for. I m excited to get more involved in this women-owned organization, they seem to take on some really difficult cases of abuse and neglect of animals.

We are currently fostering a cat with AMA. They have been so kind, professional, and helpful. The process was super easy and we received a lot of support in navigating it. Everyone there is also so responsive, which is great for us as first-time fosters. We feel really comfortable that any questions or concerns we have will be immediately addressed. It s clear that everyone at AMA truly cares about the animals and the people caring for them, whether it is as foster or adoptive pet parents. We applied with and spoke to a few different fostering organizations/shelters over the past few months, and we are super glad we are working with AMA. Today I volunteered for the first time. My overall experience was great ! Faculty was super friendly and helpful. Everything was spotless, cleaned and well taken care of. I highly recommend coming here and helping out 3 hours out of your day is definitely worth it. All the animals are adorable. It was very therapeutic taking care of them. I will definitely be a returning and be a long term volunteer!

I called AMA today when I found a kitten on the street in 18 degree weather. The kitten was lying on top another dead kitten which appeared to have frozen to death. I was at work and couldn't do much, but when I called, I was given support and told what to do to help. Mariya texted me through the entire process. I put out a box and waited for her to crawl inside. I told her I cant take the kitten bc I'm at work and I rent a room, but I didnt know what to do. I had called 311 and they couldn't do anything. None of the other shelters responded. Mariya was so helpful, she was able to find a volunteer named Marina to come get the kitty from my job, and stayed in touch with me the whole time. I am grateful to have been a part of saving this 1 kitten, which would surely be dead right now, if it hadn't been for these 2 amazing, caring people. I thank them, and AMA, for being there, for me and the kitten!
I love this place. The animals are adorable and they really care about the well being of them. They are also looking for volunteers. I love that it Is a no kill shelter and they are all about finding the best match for these animals.
Been working with AMA Animal Rescue for the past few months as a photographer and it has been an absolute dream. Anna and Mariya are a joy to work with as well as the whole team! Could not say anything but good things about my experience I hope one day I will be able to get a fur baby of my own from the rescue to give a forever home!
We are currently fostering Bambi from AMA. She s a blind kitten that AMA found and took care of. She is the sweetest little girl and AMA has been there for all of our questions and concerns. They guided and eased us throughout the entire process of fostering her, thus far. When we thought Bambi might be having a medical problem, Mariya got us a vet appointment the same day. My roommate is seriously considering adopting Bambi and I know part of that is because of how seamless AMA has made the process of taking care of her.
AMA is an outstanding organization, I have seen their work first hand with several animals. They mobilize their staff the minute there is an animal in need. Their efforts offer hope to many suffering creatures . I have fostered 3 animals with them, they all are found homes. Their work is truly at the forefront of saving abused and neglected animals .
Salem was found in the streets of Sunset park...he was in a very bad condition. We reached out to so many rescue groups for help. AMA was the only rescue group that helped us. They took Salem under their wings and paid for the surgery to remove his tumor at his ear, while other vets had said to put him back on the street or to put him to sleep! I'm forever grateful that AMA stepped in and helped Salem to get a fair chance to live
Had to call them for a an abandoned female pit bull that was tied up to a fence. They were more than helpful in coming to get her and help me get her to a safe place. A great organization all around!
AMA Animal Rescue is an organization that goes above and beyond. We have found a cat, scared to death in a container with couple of cans of wet food and water. Unfortunately we could not keep the kitty so we tried to call couple of organizations that could help. The only ones who have responded were AMA, and we are so thankful they did. They immediately sent someone to pick up the kitty and found a foster home. Everything was done so fast! This organization is filled with people that care about the well being of animals and I am so grateful for connecting with them! If you would like to adopt or foster an animal connect with AMA. If you for some reason cannot take care of your animal connect with AMA as well, please do not throw out your animal, do not be cruel, I am sure the good people at AMA would be able to relocate your animal. We knew of a cat living alone for a couple of months in an extremely filthy apartment and we contacted AMA. We got in contact with Mariya who was so helpful and sympathetic to the cats unfortunate situation. Once rescued AMA did not hesitate to provide care for the cat and share the cats story on social media. AMA provided the proper care and love that the cats previous owner could not provide. They are truly a gift to abandoned, abused and neglected animals everywhere
There is so much dedication and love for animals of all ages, that comes from everyone apart of this rescue! They've changed so many lives for the better; both humans and animals. They are saints!
AMA Rescue is the most amazing and genuine rescue organization I have come by so far. The people working here are angels and devote their time and effort to all the helpless animals. I picked up a dying feral cat on the street and called Maria for help. She took the cat immediately to the emergency room and AMA covered the huge vet bill in full. These people are animal angels. They don t give up even in the most hopeless cases. They nursed the dying cat back to a healthy life and he is now in a foster home looking for adoption. There are not enough words on earth to describe my love and gratitude towards them and all the help they have provided. I would give them 10 stars out of 5 because I have never come across people so willing, devoted, and loyal to saving voiceless lives. Thank you for your amazing work!!!!!

I fostered for my first time through AMA Animal Rescue. From start to finish they were so hands on, friendly and professional. I had Spanky for around 4 weeks. He was a beautiful, sweet and playful pup. Not only was it fun, but it was extremely rewarding to be able to give an animal a temporary home. I was definitely sad to see him go, but at the same time so happy to see him go to such a wonderful forever home. I highly recommend adopting/fostering from AMA!
One kitty was stuck with the fence today and AMA was the only organization that was willing to help. I was crying and helpless by watching the kitty suffer until they showed up. Many thanks to AMA!
They are very good but overprices that they don't have feeling for the dog or the animal that they want to help because of the person doesn't have money it doesn't they cannot help at all just mean they no feeling of helping
They are an amazing group, reach out to them if you have an emergency with an animal. I rescued a cat 11/11/19 and the next day I was contacted and I was able to bring the cat to an emergency hospital with a very nice staff of ama animal rescue. They are really Angel's helping out with injured animals, they treat animal cruelty and strays. I can say they are really an amazing group of people. Please message then when u need an animal in pain or see animal cruelty in NYC they'll meet with you and treat the animal as quick as possible,
Mariya and Anna, the founders of AMA, are extremely passionate about what they do and it shows. As a volunteer, I've been put right to work to make sure that the animals had a clean living environment, and felt loved and cared for. Mariya and Anna do a great deal to make sure that the animals feel safe.
