I volunteered to work for AMA Animal Rescue for my internship from school. You can count on Anna, animals are her first priority. This will be an experience I will never forget!

AMA is the best pet rescue in NYC. They rescue truly needy animals, like our current foster cat Kento, and provide life saving measures through their care network. As a team, they re communicative and friendly, and always available to assist fosters and adopters. I highly suggest others work with or donate to AMA to help them save animals in need.

I introduced with this organization by a program at my school. I have always loved animal s and respected people who selflessly protect them and Anna is one of those people. Thank you for all that you do for animals, bring good and it will return to you. Unforgettable experience!

I am a foster for AMA and about to adopt my little guy. They do so much for so many helpless animals. They re awesome.

AMA is an incredible volunteer run organization with a true passion for helping animals. The team is honest, patient, and very supportive throughout the entire process and beyond. They put in so much effort to match pets with the perfect families. Not only are they 100% dedicated to the pets they rescue, but also to the families that are adopting to make the best experience. The knowledgeable team is always accessible to answer questions or concerns quickly with patience and thoroughness. They have been more then helpful from the first contact to months after adoption.

I'm so grateful for AMA, which helped pair us with our newest family member, Pepper! The the foster and adoption process we've met a group of wonderful, hardworking, and deeply loving people who are motivated by the well-being of the animals they work with. I've even made a few friends along the way and feel privileged to be a part of the AMA family! I encourage you to work with them and join their mission to improve the lives of vulnerable animals everywhere.

My husband and I TRULY LOVE AND SUPPORT AMA. The have changed our lives. We are in love with our kittens - First with Cheerio and now with Stormy. The have been supportive, always took time to explain things to us, they work with the best clinics and make sure the pets are 100% healthy and ready for adoption. From offering volunteer car rides, to sending us kitten food and medicine, to communicating and texting us back WE NEVER FELT ALONE. They also have the cutest pets and truly care for them. The interview process is lengthy but trust me it's worth it. Anna and Mariya are animal angels. They deserve your support too. I am planning to help them with anything I can for them to complete their shelter and continue to support them in their cause. ANIMAL LIVES MATTER.

I highly recommend AMA Animal rescue services to anyone looking to adopt a furry friend.
I recently adopted WILLOW, a dog that I was fostering from them. I am really happy with her.
During the foster time, AMA was in contact with me to make sure that Willow was in good condition, in a happy and safe environment.
They covered all medical expenses that Willow needed.
The adoption process was easy, but they were thoughtful, checking in once in a while to make sure that Willow s forever home was the perfect family for her.
They really care about all of the animals they shelter.

In a perfect world, all animal shelters would be like AMA. All their animals get the attention and love that they deserve.

I m sure this agency helps animals find the best homes, however their process does NOT consist of 100% transparency.I was told that it was just a matter of days that I would be a dog mom with the dog that I planned to adopt, but that was far from the truth.Unfortunately,this process took place during COVID-19 and precautions had to be taken.Unbeknownst to me these health restrictions were being used as a crutch to avoid an interaction with my cat and residential environment.This resulted in the dog going to another family, which apparently the same health restrictions did not apply.I m not knocking the good work that AMA does, but this was my first adoption experience and it was a horrible one.There needs to be better communication, transparency as well as consideration for the potential adoptees feelings.

There are not enough words to describe how amazing AMA Animal Rescue are. I found a hurt kitten and they were so on top of helping me rescue this poor baby and get it the medical attention they needed. They are professional, kind, empathic, and dedicated to their job because they genuinely love animals. I am beyond impressed with AMA animal rescue for giving so much of their time and compassion towards helping our fur babies. I cant thank them enough for their help. Truly miricale workers!!!!!!!!!

Ama is truly an amazing organization. I ve had nothing but the most positive experience fostering with them. Everyone I ve spoken with/met is kind and responsive and their love for animals is evident in all they do.

AMA Animal Rescue are true angels. It is evident when you meet them to see how much they truly care for animals. It not often I know of rescue organisations that s mindful of an animals emotional well-being and I m happy that AMA embraces them wholly. Anna and Michelle are awesome at what they do and I m so happy I encountered such an organisation that genuinely love dogs as much as I do. I was honoured to be a foster mom to will continue to a part of cause.

Our adoption experience was nothing short of amazing from start to finish. The have the most amazing volunteers who are committed to finding the perfect home for their pets. They have a foster to adopt policy and a zero pressure approach to permanent placement. They are openly available to shoot a text to for advice or to send a cute picture to gloat over. I can't imagine adopting any other way. I am so grateful to Anna, Mariya, Michelle, and all the other AMA volunteers who are truly angels here on Earth.

I ve found a VERY injured cat outside of my job. He was in terrible shape. I ve been calling shelters & hospitals since I ve found him at 8 am. AMA were the first ones to take my call for help seriously. They offered him medical attention RIGHT AWAY! I am so relieved & so thankful !!!!!

I had such a great experience adopting with AMA! For one thing, they are uniquely responsive compared to other rescues - they make a point of always getting back to you within a few days, and are really helpful and friendly. The volunteer who interviewed and worked with us went above and beyond to make sure we got matched up with a dog who was the perfect fit for us, and we couldn't be happier with our sweet pup! AMA clearly cares so much about the animals in their care and work hard to make sure they don't go to just any home, but to the right home.

I've been volunteering at AMA and have been really impressed with the shelter. The owners are very sweet and genuinely care about the animals. Everyone is very clean and organized, and give guidance to the volunteers. The animals seem really happy, and the shelter gives the dogs lots of space to roam. I highly recommend AMA if you are interested in adopting a pet or donating your time/funds to a good cause!

So excited to be volunteering with this awesome organization! I've worked with others in the past and this one has blown me away. The facility is spotless and you can tell their animals are so loved. I can't wait to continue working with them!

We adopted our dog Julian through AMA. Throughout the process, AMA was very responsive and it was clear that they really cared about the welfare of both the adopter and the pet. Since our dog is a pitbull who had a history of animal aggression but had been trained earlier by a professional trainer, we were connected to the trainer and were provided 2 free training sessions when we adopted him so that we can keep up with his training. We also went through a foster-to-adopt program with AMA which was aimed at making sure both us and the dog were comfortable. They were also very transparent about our dog s history and took care of his medical charges during the foster period. We really liked their approach towards the adoption process and would highly recommend them to anyone interested in fostering/adopting an animal.

On Dec 20, 2019 my dog Raj passed away. he was my 1st dog I ever had. I was convinced that I was not going to adopt another pet. But life had other plans. On October14, 2019 AMA rescued a very severe case of neglect and abuse, she had a broken tail, hole in her leg, no hair on her body, and weighed 3.5 lbs. They named her Waffles . As a volunteer at AMA I reached out to my network of friends to foster Waffles and my good friend took the task on. I was also on hand to assist when he traveled. I ended up spending lots of time with Waffles . As the months went on my bond with her grew stronger, she weighed 11lbs and was learning to be a pup who was loved. After my beloved Raj passed away in December I was not ready to adopt a dog BUT life had other plans for me. On February 29, 2020 I officially adopted Waffles She saved my broken heart in more way that I can express. Thank you AMA Animal Rescue for saving helping the healer of my heart, my everything, my world Waffles

They are the only people who responded in a crisis. They are AMAZING. They referred me to a hospital all the way in Queens but it s okay... my cat ended up dying within minutes of handing it over to the doctor while I waited outside. My wife cried the rest of the day.

I've been following AMA's work for a while and thought highly of the organization for their work. However, my respect for AMA was taken to the next level after working with AMA directly by fostering a kitty. Mariya, my AMA contact, made me feel supported through the entire process. She was always responsive, caring, professional, reliable, and when we couldn't keep the foster kitty due to a conflict with our own cat, Mariya was understanding and worked to find another loving home for the little guy. Big thank you to Mariya and AMA for their hard work!!

Definitely have an amazing leader, one that is willing to give her all for the well being of the animals. The clinic is very clean and provides a safe space for all of the animals. It is amazing to see the progress of the mistreated animals with the help of the dedicated staff of AMA Animal Rescue. I'm looking forward to helping them continue all the great things they're doing!

AMA is a truly special organization, staffed by amazingly dedicated workers and volunteers. The adoption process back in April for our lovely Luna was very well organized as AMA thoroughly vets prospective adopters. After the initial meet and greet between Luna and our previous rescue Jaco we had a home visit and our references were contacted right away. It is very important to them that their rescues are not only adopted but find their true forever homes. Anna and the other AMA members were available during the entire pre-adoption period and they are always here for us if we have any questions or concerns. If you are looking to add a doggy to your family please consider adopting through AMA - you will be glad you did.

From the beginning, AMA was an incredible help and resource for anything I needed. I was able to foster, fall in love with and adopt a new member of the family.

Their network of vets is top notch. It s difficult if you live in northern parts of South Brooklyn, but so worth the time and travel if you do. Just adopted my boy this week and everyone was so incredibly helpful and accommodating through foster to adoption. Couldn t recommend this organization more for their care, flexibility and thoroughness.

I have seen some of the most severe animal rescue situations with AMA. They do amazing work and are making a huge difference in NYC and even bring in animals from other countries. I can t say enough about their dedication.

We are so thankful to have found AMA Animal Rescue. We found our wonderful senior Pomeranian with them. We could tell she was handled with so much love and care before we adopted her. They are extremely thorough, very organized, and so so loving to all of their fur babies. Their care didn't stop when we signed the papers. They check in on Snowie and how she adjusted to her new life. We couldn't recommend them more!

AMA treats every animal they rescue as if it is a beloved member of their own family. They go above and beyond to do everything they can to make these animals not just survive but thrive. Each rescued soul has not one or two Angels, but an army of dedicated, effective folks working to better the animal's life. Many thanks to all they have done, specifically for Junior who had a Florida "vacation" where they fixed his lymphatic chylous effusion. He's still alive (and THRIVING), thanks to the tireless research and efforts by this group who found and paid for this cutting edge treatment.

Animals injured, lost or abandoned finally can have some hope, owners or people who find these cats, dogs, etc. Can finally rest assured should they stumble upon an animal who needs help that there are wonderful people right here in Brooklyn who are waiting with open arms to receive and help in which ever way possible these poor animals.. The AMA animal rescue team wear their huge loving hearts on the outside, their devotion and warmth can ignite all of New York and beyond into a flaming fire ball of love and compassion!

We suddenly found ourselves in a crisis situation with 2 little kittens. They were found outside without their mother. Both extremely sick, but one had a severe eye infection. We reached out to AMA and they responded right away by coming and trapping both kittens. We can t thank them enough for being so responsive and caring. Thank you again.

AMA is absolutely amazing, we found a sick cat on our doorstep, contacted AMA, they responded immediately and sent someone to pick up the cat and take him tot he vet I have been following them on FB for a while and I know they are absolutely incredible at what they do. So very thankful for the help we got!

I volunteer here and it's such an amazing experience. The cofounders Anna and Mariya are wonderful and care so much about the animals under their care. It's a great place to volunteer and even therapeutic because you get to play with the animals!

They make sure to go the extra mile giving each individual animal the utmost in cleanliness, food and environment. I am currently in my first foster experience with AMA and I cannot be more impressed by their passion for animal care. From the moment I picked up my mother cat and her four kittens, Mariya has been by my side (virtually of course) answering all my questions and getting them the health care they need. The poor kitties have had a heck of a time health wise with some URI issues but the dedication Mariya has in seeing to their needs has been out of this world. I would 10 out of 10 recommend working with this rescue, they're incredibly professional and make for a fun and stress free foster!!

Will love AMA forever for bringing us our Curley! They were so great to deal with throughout the process communicative and helpful. You can tell they really love animals. A great organization I recommend wholeheartedly.

AMA is an amazing group of individuals who do an amazing job with the rescues.

They gave my sons and I the best kitten ever. The staff is really patient and caring about the animals. You also get to meet and pet the kittens in a private room before deciding on the animal to bond with. Both my sons loved the experience. Now we have a beautiful black kitten named Fabienne.

This organization is run with the best interest of the pets in mind. DON'T shop, adopt from AMA. They care about the animals with their heart and soul.

Wonderful team and effort here, the heart and soul behind this organization is top of the list! Anna puts so much love and dedication to what she does, she is a magical soul and a major blessing to the cause :) Volunteering here has been a great experience as a result and I highly recommend it, your resources won't feel wasted here as you will see the cause is really all about helping animals that are voiceless left abandoned and severely mistreated. I am so glad I found them and everyone should check them out and see what they are about!

I ve adopted from them and there are no words to describe how happy I was with the adoption. They will help you pick the best pet for you and help you with anything you need. Very excited about volunteering with the group here

I recently volunteered here and had a wonderful time! I was given a brief intro into the shelter and what they do. I love the fact that they rescue all animals regardless of age and condition. After a brief intro, one of their other volunteers worked with me to teach me the ropes of cleaning the cat/kitten area. Duties included cleaning the cages, changing the litter, switching out fresh water and cleaning their water/food bowls. After that a bit of general tidying up and cleaning, I was given time to socialize with the animals. You can tell that they are a great organization as every animal that I encountered there was super affectionate and playful.

They do ask that volunteers commit at least one day which unfortunately I won't be able to do for a while. But just beware, you'll be in danger of adopting all the animals here! They were wonderful and super affectionate and would make amazing companions!

I started following AMA on IG and every time I would see a new fur baby my heart would sing! Once we finally decided we were ready to adopt we saw the perfect little boy in one of their posts and reached out! You could immediately tell from their adoption process that they make every effort to place these babies with the right families. They are diligent in their search for loving and safe homes for their fosters! During every step of the process the volunteers were helpful, responsive, caring and accessible! They were true to their mission from the very first contact! I would definitely recommend AMA if you are looking to adopt or to foster! I wish them well and hope they are able to further expand their work finding homes for all of the animals they rescue!

Ive never been more excited to be involved with a rescue. AMA takes such a great care for their pets and puts so much work into securing the best possible homes for them. Everyone is so nice and friendly here! Definitely recommend

We adopted Penelope from AMA about three years ago, and they were so great to work with and you could tell they truly care about all their animals. this animal rescue had over the years helped countless animals , i have been involved with them for for over 24 months and can personally vouch for their integrity and commitment to animals that are in desperate need of help.

I have volunteered here for the first time, and I am extremely impressed by this amazing facility. These people truly care about the animals' well being, the facility is spotless and the care they provide to the animals is just outstanding. I contacted this rescue to help with a stray dog by my job. They replied immediately and got an appointment for the dog right away. It is nice to know that there are people in the community willing to help on such short notice .
