If you want a relaxed atmosphere, with the best customer service, Alyeska is the place. My husband and I went for a couple days, and I've never felt so happy in my life. I love that everybody is so nice, and the rooms are also very nice! Must go.

I reserved a room for two nights in a spa king with sweetheart package for my anniversary. I had to cancel the first night due to flight delays. When I checked in the had my whole reservation messed up. They had me in a regular room. After I explained this to the receptionist she got defensive and rude. She tried to tell me I requested this room even after showing my email confirmation. She explained to me this was my mistake. After waiting 30-45 minutes waiting on her talking to reservation department she changed the room, however offered no apology. On top of this I had to go back to the desk and ask for the tram tickets and explain we did not want wine/champagne for our package we wanted beer instead. They brought us wine anyway. Also they charged us for the breakfast that was in the sweetheart package. It was an overall bad experience and I was especially displeased with the behavior and attitude of the receptionist. We won t be returning.

UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT

UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT
And its bad... really bad...

Life long alaskan who booked two nights for my seven year anniversary. When we arrived we were placed in a small room at the end of the hall in which had no air conditioning.
Also the pool and spa is closed due to covid but that was fine by me.
Room service was the worst I've ever had and was burnt. We had several issues but it basically came down to me feeling embarrassed that I took my wife here.
Sundry Shop added three items we never even looked at on our bill, while we got a few other items which was extremely strange. Checking your receipts here is a good idea.
All movies including older on demand movies are 20$ which is insaine for movies that came out 10 years ago.
The room bill was 110$ more then i was quoted for when i booked my room a month in advance.
The whole thing felt shady and just plain bad.
Since the new owners seem to care only about making as much money as possible.
This hotel has gone down hill in a big way and I will never book here again and told my friends and family about their business practices.

Reply: Did you read my review? Specifically the room service was horrible and I wanted to treat my wife on our anniversary but I couldn't because of the quality of service you provide. secondly I came to spend money but didn't have to because my bill was marked up. Thank goodness that coast pizza existed or we wouldn't have had anything decent to eat.

Fun family ski trip.
Excellent hotel. Kids love it here. Very easy to get on and off the mountain. Nice restaurants, a little pricey. But good food. If you like pizza, you will be impressed. Excellent rental gear. Fun for the whole family.

I had to cancel my reservation because my daughter is in the hospital. I ve been staying here for the last 20 years off and on usually 3 times a year but never again in the past even though it s after the cancellation deadline they ve been accommodating they would not refund my money but would give me hotel credit and allow me to stay a different day later in the year but I guess after the new sale of the hotel they change their policy even though it s spring break this week and they will probably be able to rent that room out. And it wouldn't. Really cost them any money to let me stay a different night but instead they refuse to do anything. I couldn t help that my daughters in the hospital. And I guess the new hotel owners don t really care about their patrons

When my husband and I showed up for our reservation so how we got booked for the following weekend instead of for the weekend we were there for. The gal who checked us in was extremely nice and she was able to still get us a room and she even threw in an upgrade because of the confusion and the fact that the room i originally booked wasn't available.

Its always so clean and peaceful there. I can't wait until we decide to take another mini get away. Alyeska is where we are going.

Hotel sells a room with 2 beds as if it could accommodate 4. When one complains, they request $25 for extra beds and rudely state that their beds are double beds when they are nothing of the sort. Staff are not terribly friendly. Do not recommend

Beautiful lobby, room, great valet service at entry. Then the linguine bolognese arrived. A thin, greasy tasting , mess and then I was told, "well it is a meat sauce ". Sorry, bolognese is one off my favorite sauces and although it can be made with a piece if fatty pork, it should not be served thin and greasy, but thick and tomato flavored. Fortunately, the smoked salmon pizza was very good.

Over rated. Over priced. They don't have a terrain park most of the season and when they do its the same old rails and boxes that they had 20 years ago. Where do all the profits go? Not back into the resort or improvements because they have no halfpipe. A weak park when they do have one, small jumps. Tracked out powder in 1day after a storm, very limited hiking and crap tree lines. Save you money and go hike in turnagain pass.

$30.00 ......Really??? Poor service

$30.00 ......Really??? Poor service

They told us check in wasn t until 4 pm. We showed up and our room wasn t ready until close to 4:30pm. I explained to Shawn at the front desk that our kids wanted to go snow boarding tonight. We were there on a promotional which was room plus 2 lift passes promo.
My kids received their lift passes and hit the lift at 5pm. After an hour my two 15 yr olds called and said that they were walking down the Main Road and asked for us to pick them up.
When we asked why they were walking they said that they shut the lift down at 6.

When we checked in we were never told by the front desk that if we used the passes they wouldn t be able to use them for more than an hour.

First of all, I m pretty ticked that my kids had to walk almost an hour back to the hotel.

Second, I went down to the front desk and they said that they were sorry but they could give us a 50% off lift pass but that s the best we could do.

I spoke with the Manager Michael Gray. He proceeded to explain to me that that it s not the hotels fault that I didn t understand that the lift was going to stop in less than one out and that it s not the hotels responsibility to explain it.

I told him that we were not avid skiers and were just coming for a fun family day and asked very kindly if he could just extend the use for a few hours in the morning and we would have been totally happy and appreciative with what he could do for us. He still stood his ground explaining that it s not the hotels fault and the hotel was not willing to accept responsibility.

Honestly with the coin that I am about to drop with the Jr. Suite that we rented, the dinners and extras that we were about to spend at the hotel you would have thought that 30 bucks would have been an easy drop in the bucket to make a family that would drop over $800 for the night happy.

I asked to be connected with his Manager, he told me that he was the highest that it goes. I asked to speak or be connected to an owner and he refused.

I think it is pretty poor service, and they definitely put the dollar before the customer. I won t be back and am going to leave this review on every hotel review site I come across.

Did not stay at the resort, just traveled here for the trails. There is ample parking (although when there is an event you may have to park farther away). The trail that we took has a second entrance, where it may be easier to park (and easier to find than on the resort area itself). The hand tram to the trail was broken, so we had to go the same way back, but it was a beautiful forest hike so not much of a problem.

It smells bad on the second floor. 2/3 of the mountain is closed. The rooms are very average. The staff is nice. I don t think I can come back. I do like Alaska, though. To add, the posts prior to arrival make it seem like the whole mountain is open.. the first big lie. 5 days before said all was open.... I would have cancelled if I knew the truth. They are understaffed on the mountain. The ski patrol are scarce. No cannons, no urgency to open up the mountain.

A bit on the smaller side as far as hotels go in the lower states, but filled with museum worthy art and sculptures with a uniquely homey aesthetic and atmosphere. Has a built in tram connected to the nearby mountain range and multiple nearby dining options with traditional American food and good prices.

Super disappointed with the service. We came down with a special rate that included ski passes. Couldn t check in until 4:30 because the room wasn t available. Staff that checked us in didn t explain that ski lifts close at 6. Got on the mountain at 5 and found out we wasted our lift tickets to ski for an hour. Talk to manager but they refused to extend pass to next day. Super disappointing since we told the attendant at the front desk we planned to go ski today. He knew we were getting out with an hour left but said nothing. Manager said it was our fault we didn t know the mountain closed after an hour. Just really disappointed with the way this was handled. We used to come here all the time when our kids were little, like 10 years ago. Has the ownership changed? Seems like the service has really gone downhill.

Nice place to get away, and exciting to see so many families enjoying time together skiing and otherwise. Room was a bit stale and could use a bit of enhancing, especially for the price. Seems there's also a lag in checking guests in due to a shortage in housekeeping. The staff, valet and housekeepers were hospitable. The fitroom, sauna and pool were enjoyable, and the casual areas and lobby were cosy and welcoming. The tram was awesome on both trips. Unfortunately, room service left much to be desired and was very costly. Also, the last night's stay was unfortunately full of beeping due to snow removal and maintenance, allowing for only a couple hours of sleep... and I was wearing an ear plug. Overall, I give the hotel a 4 because I'm generous and I believe I experienced issues not typical of a stay at the Alyeska Ski Resort.

Rip off! They charged us on the days we didn't stay. The manager made us pay again after we arrived. By doing this they spoiled our family's holiday spirit. Please be careful when you make phone reservations with them. Very poor hospitality.

The hotel is half way to a 5 star the rates were off the chart expensive. It will be our last stay after 11 years of coming. Hatchers pass is growing, we are going there and let the Canadians suck it up.

They advertise if you need something just to text them...however they did not respond to my texts. When I ask them at the desk for something they said they would send somebody up to the room but they did not.. They do advertise a few things that are in the rooms but they are not there like slippers, etc. Beautiful place but it's kind of like they're trying to save money.

My father worked here as a baker. What a delight it was to visit here and try some of the baked goods. All of the views from here are stunning and well worth whatever travel it takes to get here. I can't wait to go back with my family and relive some memories! Also Alaska is awesome.

Professional and clean hotel, I was there for the CPG heli skiing but also hung out at the bar there. Above average bar food with a really fun crowd and always fun events like the Cornhole tournament I think every Monday.

One of the best aces we stayed at during our Alaska vacation is stay g at this resort. The views are breathtaking, specially if you take the air tram and go up on the mountain. The service is amazing and a the restaurants have delicious food. This resort is located perfectly to go to Nchorage, Seward or Sanctuary. You will love your stay and love the views even more.

We loved staying at Alyeska resort (July 2018), didn't find it anymore expensive than other lodges, cabins or homes we rented in our travels around the Kenai Peninsula. The food was slightly above average at the different restaurants/cafe. But the setting, going up the tram, hiking in the area was gorgeous. Rooms were clean, comfy and had nice amenities. Valet parking was free since their lot is busy.

Outstanding hotel with Oriental touches. We were fortunate to get a corner room which gave extraordinary views. This resort offers challenging skiing in winter but we were just off our cruiseship & enroute to Denali National Park to see the site. This was a wonderful stop along the way- complete with tram from hotel to restaurant at top of mountain.

Please be very mindful of Alyeska s price structure for Alaskans. The $100 on site credit is not a deal since room price is $100 more. It is a better price deal to stay in Anchorage and drive there for day trip. Pool is not open and Spa only on weekends.
