We had a fun time at Alyeska Resort. Wonderful staff, clean rooms and amazing weather for Girdwood. The kids enjoyed the pool for a few hours each day. The food prices were fair and good enough. Room service had some glitches like not bringing silverware and not having all that was ordered, but was fixed when called. Overall, we plan to visit a few more times over the winter. Small kids witha great pool for the win.

Well they neglected to tell us months in advance that the tram was closed, so the whole point of our romantic get away weekend was ruined. And their front desk people were rude. I give 2 stars because the room was kinda nice.

Very disappointing! Booked 7 rooms more than 2-3 months ago. Arrive to the hotel at 4pm check-in. Staff explained that our rooms weren t ready. For some of our group it took 2-4 hours to get our room keys. I have stayed at Alyeska many times and have never had such horrible service. After checkout all of our group then discovers that each of us were charged again for our rooms which were already paid in full when the reservation was made. Very frustrating!

This resort is just breathtaking in regard to views, offerings, staff. The room was very comfortable if a tiny bit outdated. The restaurant choices were great, I was grateful for gluten free choices on every menu.

Our stay was good, but the room seemed outdated, stains on the carpet, walls had tears and gouges all over. Tram was closed due to no snow so the restaurant on the mountain wasn t open. We attempted to use the hot tub and pool, a small child ran over and spit in the hot tub and ran away, so we left after 5 minutes of screaming kids. I felt the room was overpriced for what it was, needs updated for sure! Not to mention the walls seemed a little thin, our room neighbors were loud, kids running, stomping and screaming. So we weren t overly thrilled with our stay. Felt we could have got the same or better room elsewhere cheaper and less noise.

The Alyeska Resort is located in Girdwood Alaska. There is a lot to do here both in winter and summer, if you enjoy any outdoor activity this will certainly meet your needs. There is restaurants, cafes, fitness room, kids activity room, indoor saltwater pool, Spa and a gondola that takes you to the top of the mountain. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and the rooms are very nice as well and can range from affordable to luxurious. I would definitely stay here again.

Accessible room overlook parking lot not slope. Double has bathtub but no shower seat fit . King has roll in shower 36 inches dee . Handrails by seat and wall facing you but none by entry if somewhat mobile. Toilet very low standard with hand rail. Asian bistro had good unique sushi but small. Crave food was under seasoned and not impresse . Daughter asked for rare steak and I asked for medium- both medium. Potatoes purple and bland, brocchlirabe bitter. Tried fried brussel sprout appetizer, they were huge and tough. Room serve ran late for breakfast so order early. Can add items from online menu . Very disappointing. Ski school great and slopes in good condition.

My wife and I (and our six week old) planned our vacation to Alaska months ago and found Alyeska. I found a deal online that included tram tickets with the booking, so decided it would be a fun little extra. We arrived at the resort Friday evening and first impressions where good, the lobby kind of reminded us of Disney the whole place smelled of evergreens. We checked into our room and got settled. The room was a little cold so I turned up the heat but after waiting 45 minutes the heating vents where still cold. I called the front desk and they sent up maintenance who told us that the heating valves were manually turn off and promptly corrected the issue. We then used the bathroom and found that the sink barely drained which never got fixed (we are still currently staying at the resort). The next morning we ran out of bottled, water which the resort provides free of charge, and could not find anyone to get more, so I went to the front desk where I was told to go to the shop on the second floor for more. Thinking that the shop had free bottled water I went up to get some and found that they only had bottled water for sale Not sure why they would point a guest to buy water when they offer it for free, so naturally this was kind of annoying. Later on we try to get out tram tickets and they told us they were not included because I had to ask for them when making the reservation. They said we could buy them though! I wish I could say good things about the resort but the guest services are horrible.

Terrible customer service, if I could give it a zero rating I would! We had a credit due to having to reschedule because of family emergencies. The customer service agent at time of booking/cancelling failed to inform us of the policy of having only one year to use your credit or you lose everything. We tried to book again and now they inform us that we no longer have a credit. Jenna the original agent I spoke with even said they just changed their policy. I then left a voicemail for Kristin the manager and I never received a call back. Maria the supervisor of booking was not at all sympathetic to the situation and just kept reiterating the current policy. She states that their policy has been the same and they recently just changed it to you lose your money/the room after the first cancellation. Their staff on the phone was rude and their policies are ridiculous. We now lost $365 for the two night stay. Save your money and time, I do not recommend this hotel at all.

Awesome ride up the tram! Did the ride and dine deal for the whole family but only needed to buy for the two adults. Kids ate too, but didn't need the extra funds. Deal works on drinks too...just FYI. Wedding that day was fun to watch, even though a little overcast and sprinkles.

Beautiful hotel in a beautiful setting. Great place to stop even just to grab a coffee and go for a hike (yes I saw a bear while hiking from the hotel....so bring your bells/noise maker so they know you are on the trail). Very exciting!

The hotel itself is beautiful. The entrance has a gas fire pit for warming up or a late night gathering. The staff are very courteous and helpful. Rooms seem adequate, we upgraded to a room with a view. However this is the only hotel I have ever been in with full size beds instead of queen/king size.

This was our 7th time staying here, every time it gets worst
1. Outdated dirty rooms
2. Grumpy, Unresponsive staff
3. Old uncomfortable mattresses
4. Sorry excuse for a "duvet" you end up figting it all night. Its 2 sheets with a blanket in between
5. Missing necessities in the room
6. Yellow water in the shower, plugged drain, broken toilet
7. Bacteria in the pool, kids got a bad itchy rash all over
8. Housekeeper dropped tea bags on the floor in the hallway, she picks it up and puts them in the room. Happened right in front of my eyes
9. Undercooked food resulting in bad indigestion
10. Cooling fan is not Controlled from the room. When we arrived i asked for it to be turned off, they did. On the 3rd day it went on again at 7 am after calling them 5 times asking them to turn it off, they did nothing. So we got up and left. Not a pleasant way to start your day after suffering indigestion all night long.
NEVER going back here again.

I have now stayed at Alyeska in every season (coming up during a warm winter week was very saddening but I cannot take that our on the resort). This hotel is always top notch! I love the package deals and the summer rates are amazing. You don't need a car to get around and there are plenty of food choices on site. Easy access to Girdwood, easy access to the slopes in the winter or MTB/hiking trails in the summer. This is my go-to stay in or near Anchorage.

Alyeska has the type of terrain and snow pack that all of us skiers and boarders in the lower 48 and around the world dream of!! The views on a sunny day are breathtaking and the snow during storms is outrageous!

Will be going back!

My heart sank. Amidst all this Alaskan majesty we'd booked ourselves into this corporate cruise ship destination stop off. 150 rooms taken by seeming vagrants, children running wild in the cocktail bar, elderly people sitting on scattered dark brown leather sofas, waiting to die, and a staff too busy to care. The rooms are dark wood, cramped, ours overlooked the car park offering unrivalled views of the busses sat outside with engines running at 4.10am. It has the most extraordinary toilet that flushes first with a hiss and then an explosive bang as if jettisoned into the mountaintops. This place may work as a ski hotel, but as a summer stay it made me want to cry and regret that I'd paid upfront for 2 nights. I suddenly so want to go home.

I went here on a ski vacation with friends and stayed in the Lodge. The facility was stunning. The views are the very best I've ever seen from the top. Amazing place in an amazing location. Be sure to check the snow conditions before booking.

Ceiling above the bed was crumbling, water never got above warm ish and when I ordered room service for breakfast it came 15 minutes late, they didn't include all the food I ordered and one of two dishes they sent up had food crusted on them and a black hair on the plate. Complained to the front desk and was totally brushed off. Last issue was I turned in a piece of winter gear I found. When the owner came looking for it I told them I turned it in a front desk. Then they told him they never had a record of that item being turned in.

The skiing is great but the hotel is filthy, dishonest and couldn't even fake wanting to be better then subpar. Side warning, don't eat at 7 glaciers got husband got food poison there. What a nightmare.

Amazing views, and great local beers on tap. Our room view of the mountain was an awesome way to wake up each morning. The food in the onsite restaurants was reasonably priced considering the location, and of very good quality, the Kobe burgers at the bar and grill were fantastic.

There is free ice-skate hire for the frozen over pond outside the spa, limited sizes here, and the ice is uneven, so if you can't already skate, it isn't the best place to learn (no barriers!) - I enjoyed it, but the wife wasn't keen on having not safety net to skate to!

The not so good parts are, limited equipment hire sizes at the main resort shop, no size 10 available only 9 or 11.5, so no skiing on this trip unfortunately for me.
The room has no thermostat controls, you get the house temperature, which is pretty hot, we had the plug in fan going - but we only slept in that room, theres so much to do - but it all requires travel.

The Wildlife Conservation Center is only a 30min bus ride away, in the snow months you won't see much other than Bison and Wolves, but still worth it.

An hour out to Whittier for a boat tour of the glaciers is a must, you can stand for hours (or until you start to freeze) staring at the glaciers!

We took a long ride out to Talkeetna (3 hours) to try our hand at mushing a dog sled, this is way more fun than other tours where you and in a big group sled, here you mush in pairs a 6 team of dogs and get to play with the puppies afterwards.

We'd love to visit again, maybe in summer next time so we can do some of the non-snow activities.

Winter or summer, this is a place for adventure and epic journeys in the Turnagain arm area. From mountaintop restaurants and epic views to the skiing, Alyeska resort and the surrounding area are a home to endless fun and excitement. With a pool and spa, some good resturants in the hotel and community, and a local shuttle bus to get around the valley this is an excellent choice of place to visit for wildlife, sightseeing, and Alaskan adventure!

When we were in our Room it was very quiet. One of the quietest hotels we've stayed in!! Had lovely salads in the restaurant and Adam was our server, he did a fantastic job. The lobby was warm inviting and welcoming each morning for quiet journaling and reflection and conversation.

Not a skier? That should not stop you from visiting this amazing resort. The tram to the near top was quick and safe. There are many trails one can take from there to cover the mountain. Spectacular views!!! The lodge is a four to five star hotel. Staff was friendly and very accommodating. Highly recommend.

We went to Alyeska just for a relaxing getaway and we weren't disappointed. I wanted to take our bed home with us. It was so comfortable and it was nice to go swimming and not have my eyes burning because of all the chlorine. Cannot wait until we can go again. The next time it will be for the weekend and not just one night.

Rooms are spectacular and the view is amazing. Received a couples deep tissue massage with my girlfriend from Sondra and Rizzo at the Spa. They were very professional and we both left feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. Room service in the morning was prompt and delicious. Will stay again in the future.

Great view. Lovely rooms. Kind staff and they are working so hard to keep things clean and wonderful. First time we'd seen the gift shop and it's awesome, actually! (And who's ever said that about a hotel gift shop!?) The mountain is spectacular and with the Resort, you're able to get the best of your time in Girdwood - on the mountain, in the pool, eating at great restaurants.

Staying at the Alyeska Resort is a great addition to an Alaskan land based summer vacation (July). The lodge is very elegant, and is surrounded by world class hiking trails. If you are looking for a strenuous hike, you can climb up the mountain to the top of the Tram. Don't forget to look for blue berries on the side of the trail. Rides back down are free of charge. Also, don't miss the hike out to the Hand Tram where you get to pull yourself across the river in a small basket suspended on a single cable.

The service is great new owners are still cheechakos however learning the sourdough ways. Ski rental service and system is awesome. Tips, think about the crowds don't be in a rush to get breakfast right before the lifts open and expect the pool to be packed when the lifts close.use the stairs.
