I appreciate the professional way this ski hill is managed. From the lifties, to the cashiers, to the condition of the ski runs, everything is well done. I never have a complaint about the employees, and that says a lot for management. I've had a season pass for 3 years now, and I'll continue to renew as long as they maintain their current high standards.

The snow was not great at all I get there hasn t been a lot this year but the hills I ve been to have way better snow. Also when getting off one of the lifts there were only ice chunks causing multiple people to fall and making it very hard to get down after getting off lift. Also the workers act like they don t want to be there based off of their expressions

I'm new to snowboarding/skiing but my experienced friends said the slopes were too harsh for beginners due to lack of snow and more icy conditions. But we didn't get hurt and we all had fun. Prices were reasonable and staff were friendly.

Me and my husband are beginner level skiers and we visited this resort last weekend. This Ski resort is very close to Chicago, the location is beautiful. They have different kinds of lift tickets depending on your skiing skills.
The staff was pleasant and professional, we had no issues getting our tickets and rental gear.
My only concern is the river that runs through the ski slopes which does not have any protective fencing around it. So it does pose a risk for beginners who are learning to slow down. If you can't slow down on time or make a turn there is a good chance of you skiing into the river. We did not see any such instance happening however there is a potential risk.

It would be great if there is some protection around the river, especially in the beginner areas.

Apart from that one concern, the slopes are really great, well maintained and perfect for newbies. They have a good training program which you can opt for and I saw their instructors at work, they are great!

They have a good cafe which has decent food and drink options and is pretty accessible from the slopes. We skied for 4 to 5 hours and had a nice experience.

Great time skiing there. Lines were never long despite it snowing and being president's day weekend. Got a little icy towards the end of the day, but overall still great conditions.

Could benefit from an "out of bounds" are with a little bit of tree skiing.

Alpine Valley is a good place to learn how to ski or snowboard as the slopes are not steep or long. However, this place is mostly a large hill and there aren't many runs, and these two factors cause a lot of congestion issues both on the slopes and the lifts. It is also very expensive for an all day lift ticket, especially considering that the runs are small.

This was not a good experience at all. My son was signed up for the learn to ski for age group 5-7 years old. They shuffled their feet the entire time. They were not taught to go down a hill. I could have taught him to shuffle his feet on skis. He learned nothing from this experience. It was also very poorly organized which people everywhere but no one could tell my husband where he and our son needed to be. I would not recommend a lesson at this place. Rock snow park in franklin was much much better at teaching skiing.

I went through all the trouble of making a google+ account just so I can write a review. I am a snowboarder who enjoys terrain parks and good customer service which alpine valley has neither of. They neglect the parks they have, no upkeep and compared to area hills just lazy and poorly set up, they close down the terrain lifts on weekdays now which is completely unheard of. Alpine has so much potential to bring in more riders but chooses not to, that being said the rest of the hill is alright fast quad lifts and a few runs. Customer service is by far the worst I have experienced anywhere, lift ticket sales were texting while with customers, the hispanic chefs in concessions use vulgar language in spanish ( I speek fairly decent spanish) towards customers, I am always polite when a guest, they should be as well. All in all for the price of lift tickets 44$ weekends / 34$ weekdays I would not reccomend it if you enjoy terrain parks, even then for the price its still pretty expensive compared to other hills in the dells or madison area. All in all very bad experience time and time again, I will not be returning any time soon.

tickets are over priced same as all Midwest "resorts". can't believe they don't accept credit cards, it's the 21st century not the 70s which alpine valley seems to be stuck in if you look anywhere besides the hill.

Ended up having a great time, but they seemed pretty unorganized. We were there for our small children to take skiing lessons. We were sent back and forth across the Lodge, from one desk to another until they could figure out how to rent us skis and have the kids take a class. If multiple people are going to say "go to the ski school", there should probably be at least one sign that says "ski school" somewhere in the resort.

Facilities and slopes are very good. Different areas as per your skill level. Could improve in shoe rental area where staff does not bother helping unless asked. Overall good place and experience.

I went to Alpine valley to go snowboarding. It's a pretty nice hill and even though we haven't gotten any snow in a while, they were making it and the conditions were pretty good. All the lift workers we encountered were nice and helpful.

This ski resort is the one I go to most often, its close to were I live and its an overall nice place. Its a little hard to go to the park spot but they have a nice amount of both big and smaller jumps. It is a little scary to go down if your a starter since there is a river right under all the hills with no fence.

Great place to ski and snowboard. The ski patrol is very helpful if you ever need anything. Don't go expecting mountain skiing, but the runs are well groomed and they have high-speed lifts for each part of the hill.

I went there for some snowboarding. It is fine to do couple runs there as a warm up for the season. However, there is no way to compare it to big mountains. With that said, if the snow condition is right like having 4-6 inches of fresh snow, it's not a bad place to have a little fun.

Came here on a Sunday to ski with a few friends. Was not expecting many crowds on a Sunday but was I surprised. The lines were awful, not only in length but in organization. Many people there were clueless to how a ski lift worked and the employees did no good to help with that. There was no structure to the lines, basically a moshpit of pushing amd cutting infront of people. At one point I lectured a group of kids for cutting approximately 20 minutes worth of line. To make matters worse, it takes about a minute or two to get down the mountain. Runs are pathetically short and there are only about a handful of them. The terrain park was maintained kind of well, except for the small terrain which was absolutely neglected. Only giving it two stars because of the resorts convenient location.

We were there for a wedding. In the family suite one of the Windows had no curtains. You could see where the rod had been broken. The wedding turned out beautiful, but dealing with staff was less than ideal. Yes, they agreed to host a wedding during ski season, so yes, it was a busy time, but the wedding were paying guests as well.

Way too expensive for a mediocre ski hill. Head north if you are looking for better conditions and a more reasonable price. A major upside is the quality and quantity of lifts. They are very fast and lines are rarely excessive. Also good amount of runs with a good variety of skill level.

This is a 27 hole property with a ski hill and a lodge. The Summit Nine is really the only good nine but you'll face a 100-foot drop a par three with the smallest green ever with an additional 20 foot drop behind the green. Its like 150 and it only played like 120. The other two nine hole courses are okay but not too special but it's got a river running right through the middle of those courses.

We went to snowboard for the day. The runs and terrain park are fairly nice. However getting onto the lift was a bit of a chaotic mess. Also the restaurant was terrible. We sat down to have a drink at the restaurant. Two of my friends got makers double shots on the rocks. When we got the bill we noticed we had been charged $8.00 for ice. We had never been charged for ice, especially that much so we asked the waitress about it. She didn't know the answer so we asked to speak to a manager. When we spoke with a manager he said that because you get more alcohol with ice they charge $2.00 per drink. First of all, you get less alcohol with ice because it dilutes the drink. Secondly the manager was very rude about explaining the charge to us and when asked if he has ever gotten this complaint he said that he often got it but didn't care. The customer service was extremely poor and the hidden ice charge was ridiculous. I have never paid $8.00 for ice.

Was there for a wedding. Great food. Some staff was helpful but overall it was very disorganized and some things throughout the day had to be taken care of by wedding party members rather than staff.

Good runs, quick lifts, large parking and lounge area to take a break. They can use some benches on the top of the of the trails, so snowboarders (and skiers) can take a brake while tying up their bindings-and not just sitting on the snow, in the way of others who are ready for the next run.

First time snowboarding ever so I really don't have anything to compare to. But boy I had such a great time. The weather was just right. The check-in process was simple. A bit pricey for the lift tickets and about $24 bucks to rent equipment without the helmet. They have several hills to choose from -- ranging from easy to hard. I stuck around in the easy slopes and it was just fine.

The staff were all helpful and nice. They also have a pretty large cafe if you're in need of food or drinks. I came here on a Christmas Eve so there wasn't a huge crowd which was good for me. I was able to maneuver down the slopes without running into anyone.
