This mountain is really what it's all about. Perfect conditions, kind, delightful ticket sales persons. Im never in a rush at Alpine Meadows, just happy to be slashing some pow with the people i care most for. Well, unless its a powder day.

Great family atmosphere. Have been skiing here for years with my children and grandchildren. The ski school really takes care of your kids and really work with the kids to get them skiing or boarding quickly. Good variety if runs for all levels.

One of the better resorts in Tahoe, typically not as overcrowded as the others. But ticket prices are overpriced for the size of the resort and the food at the cafeteria is barely edible. Eat at the outdoor BBQ spot on the deck if it's open, much better food.

By far my favorite Tahoe resort. The mountain is beautiful, the tree runs along the best, and the crowds are small. It's probably not the best if you've never boarded before, but if you're intermediate or better, you will love it.

Really enjoyed this mountain as I usually only visit Squaw Valley when in the area. We decided to turn off last minute and come here instead, it was a good choice! Not super steep but a ton of fun terrain. All the lifts are high speed to get you up the mountain quick! Beautiful views of Lake Tahoe from the top with outcropped granite slabs giving texture to the Lake Tahoe canvas. Alot of groomers and the bowls give you alot of room to do your thing. It's part of the mountain collective so I'll absolutely come back when visiting Tahoe.

Skiing was great but they have problems with their lifts. Every time you pass a tower on the chairlifts you get sprayed with a thick black oil. It gets all over your clothes and face and doesn t wash out. We thought it was just the treeline cirque lift so moved to a different lift but the problem is present with all their lifts. If you look down on the snow you will also easily see the black oil stains on the snow. Best advice is to wear old clothes you don t mind throwing away because the oil stains do not wash out.

This is one of the best places around to ski or ride. coupled with squaw valley as a day ticket, it gives the rider a wide variety of terrain. If one opted to get the ikon pass, there's multiple resorts to choose from, in and out of the US. From an easy mellow ride, to cliff drops and black diamonds aplines got it.

Ski lessons for our daughter are great and she loves her instructor! The magic carpets are a nice alternative to the rope tows I grew up with and allows kids to be more independent earlier.

Mountain has very good snow, high variety of courses, from beginner slopes, to intermediate groomers and tree skiing, to chutes and moguls. Lifts can be quite slow, so expect lines at many of the smaller ones, but as long as you find your niche you can continue to hit that and get some good skiing in. Staff are always nice, ski patrollers are out for your safety, and are quick to help. Also their dogs are cute.

I only gave 2 starts because of the good terrain that's available. They take days to open chairs after storms. The lifts are slow/old. They put the chairs on wind hold for wind speeds that are relatively low, I have lived by mountains/ski areas for years now (Mt Bachelor is my home mountain now, 100 days a year there). Very crowded and long lift lines. Not at all worth $160/day. The only other positive is the friendliness of the staff that I got to interact with, even if they could care less about the issues effecting the patrons.

I know it's getting to be rather late in the season but come on we're still paying for the lift tickets please groom some of the runs and in addition you should make the Alpine burgers cooked to order so that at least they're hot for 15 bucks

Alpine Meadows, if you catch it in a good year is a romp. Frigid but often sunny with lovely powder and trails running down the backside of the mountain away from the main bowl all combine to make it a destination ski adventure. With Tahoe close at hand and the always exhilarating California 49 gold rush highway a little farther afield there's plenty to do if your vacation compels more than just skiing.

I've been skiing for over 50 years and would rate the pallet of groomers available off the Summit Lift as the best groomer skiing I have ever experienced. The Grooming done at Alpine Meadows is incredible and in complete contrast to its sister resort Squaw Valley where the grooming is very poor with clear bumps as the edge of every groomer pass, not to mention that the groomers available at squaw are all chopped up and short. The Chalet at Alpine is wonderful and welcoming with huge decks and inside space that invites you to enjoy the day and leave a backpack on a hook if you wish. If is hasn't snowed in a bit, skip Squaw and head to Alpine Meadows, hands down.

I wished we had more time and better weather here. Despite it all, they deserve a five stars. My wife loved our brief time here. It feels more laid back compared to Squaw Valley! Can't wait to come back and spend more time here next season!

Staff were mostly pleasant and helpful, with an excellent ski school experience for my sister. Facilities were the most surprising, though, generally much cleaner than I expect from a ski resort. Attention to small details, like tissues in the bathrooms, was much appreciated.

$30 paid carpool or free parking available. Save on lift tickets by buying online. Excellent food, $8 beer at the bar (cheap by Tahoe standards). Excellent terrain and good long hi speed lifts from the base.
