Alpine meadows is a terrific ski resort for intermediate to advanced skiers. It has a ton of natural features that keep it interesting whether you're looking for technical or more playful runs. They have a small park but if you want to do larger tricks and jumps it's better to look for rocks or small cliffs. I would not recommend this resort for new skiers - Squaw has a wider variety of green and blue runs.

I used to LOVE Alpine Meadows but my most recent experience wasn't quite as much fun. First off, now that they are affiliated with Squaw, their pricing is outrageous at $159/day for an adult. The day we recently skied, there wasn't a single Intermediate run with nice grooming. The snow conditions were still good but I expect stellar for that pricing.

Lots of skiable and rideable terrain accessible from high-speed lifts and scenic ridgelines with north exposures make this the ideal location for winter and spring wintersports. Crowd favorites are the Lakeview and Sherwood chairs near the mid-mountain Chalet for lunch. For a more interesting day trek out to Gentian Gully at Scott Chair or hike up to Keyhole from Alpine Bowl to the Saddle. When the snow is fresh, Palisades, Our Father, Waterfall, and several other runs and bowls to the north west offer ample terrain for those who get there. Get there early as parking lots often fill by 830 on Saturday's.

Limited to no plant-based / vegan food.

Although less expensive than its neighboring mountain (Squaw), it s still very expensive making it unattainable for most. When asked about programs to help make the sport more accessible and/or less homogeneous, I was greeted with unknowingness and unwillingness to want to understand.

Giving it 2 stars since it s slightly more affordable than Squaw and, since they have indoor seating areas (although not much to eat) with fireplaces.

Very nice resort. When I went there they had lots of snow and quite a rush.

Just like many other resorts in the area, they offer ski and snowboard classes. Highly recommend them for anyone who wants to try it for the first time.

One of the fun and less tourist driven ski resorts in Lake Tahoe. It feels like there are three types of ski area, the mega developed areas, the fun ski resorts that don't focus on accommodations and keep with the skiing, and the mom and pop operations. This would fit in the middle category. There is some fun access to terrain and great lift operations with a nice but less developed accommodations selection compared to Northstar, Heavenly, and Squaw.

Ill never come back here. The entire mountain was ungroomed and the powder was choppy everywhere. Hardly any lifts either for so much terrain. I havent fallen in years and I fell twice. The food options are the worst and most expensive. Tater tots and chicken patties. They need a serious makeover for these prices.

Not much to the lodge. No village to speak of. Before alpine was associated with squaw Valley this was the best value ski resort in the area, having several high speed or high return lifts and lots of area to explore and get away from the crowd. I only wish I didn't have to pay squaw prices to go there.

It's a great mountain with varied terrain, plenty of challenges for experts. The lodge has a homey feel with many people bringing their lunches and gear and hanging them on hooks all around the tables. The deck on a sunny day is unparalleled.

One of the best ski resorts out there. Great for all levels of skiing, many different lifts for greens, blues and blacks. It rarely has lines and the new lift has allowed it to be open everyday. Even if the winds are 60mph+ this lift will be open and it access' a lot of fantastic terrain. One of the best places in tahoe to go skiing.

The resort is nice but the disorganized staff... Will make you loose patience. The parking situation is ludicrous. We paid a high fee to go to Squaw and never made it there. Staff made us wait several times in line in the car for no reason other than their incapacity to coordinate signage and logistics across both resorts. As a results we wasted hours stuck in traffic they were not managing actively. A trying experience... Too bad, we were coming a long way to go to Squaw. They are sold as two joint resorts with Alpine but unlike Park City they are not connected other than by the bus shuttle so you can't go from one to the other.

The north lake gem and alternative to squaw (although owned by the same crew). Great tree runs and backbowls, with powder a great playground, vertical drop modest but I dare anyone to not have fun here riding when the snow is fresh!

Great mountain, lesser lines on lifts than sqaw valley. Car to lift with ski gear is short, frequent courtesy shuttles, food quality has massively improved with lot of healthy vegetarian, vegan options, great place for beginners and to learn moghuls blues are fun and challenging. Loved this better than sqaw.

I was extremely lucky to have my first skiing experience in a group lesson with Mr. Rolland. I knew what I m capable/ not capable of but he made me feel so secure, like a rock star on skis :-) which filled me with confidence. And I started skiing on my very first group lesson. Everything seemed so easy. If I began to be afraid of height or speed he could point that fear out and explain the origin of it, and what to do next in order to succeed. I followed his instructions And nothing really seemed scary anymore. He shared a lot of knowledge and taught how and when to apply it. I enjoyed every moment and I m definitely going skiing again. And look forward to taking a private lesson with Rolland for my husband I to improve our skills.

Nice place to have an experience of sking. But if you are not going for sking, you can still visit as witnessing the snow wind will be a nice experience. Also need to wear proper warm clothes as the winds can be nasty sometimes. There is a coffee shop as well as some food outlets if you are hungry.

This place is amazing!! Love the more local vibe that does not give off the feel of a large resort! Totally feels like a back country location right at Tahoe! Beautiful views of the lake from the lake view Chair!

Place totally needs to get with modern times. To go to a resort that's the same price as Park City, yet still have 2 seater lifts from the 60s, is ridiculous. Also, when it's stormy and windy they shut down 2/3rds of the trails (or the whole mountain) because the old lifts can't handle it. Resorts with lifts built even in the 90s do not shut down with similar conditions.
Beware travelers, if your ski vacation might have bad weather, that dumps amazing powder, sorry you can't go skiing.

I didn't ski at Squaw Valley, so I don't have any experience. But Alpine Meadows is definitely a very good place for skiing. Administrative staffs are cooperative and friendly. Emma, my ski instructor, was an enthusiastic lady and very kind to me. Her enormous patience and constant inspiration were the reason behind my awesome skiing experience from no prior knowledge to end up with a sense of achievement. It was a really nice time I spent over there. The natural beauty and wonderful terrains made this place very special to me. This great experience I want to remember for a lifetime.

Ridiculously expensive everything ($12 for a bratwurst hot dog, $6 for a can of beer; tickets at the counter are $179!!). I paid the advance purchase price for a single day ticket despite having only about 25% of the area open...I was happy to ski with my friends for a day but kind of a joke of a ski area I'm sorry to say.

Used to be a nice place. Sadly, prices have doubled while value has remained flat. There are cheaper resorts that offer comparable snow and runs. The last time I went there will be the last time I went there.

Great skiing.during the week minimal lift lines.Alot of terrain away from the groomed trail makes skiing fun. There are trails and areas that there are not another skier.Plenty of groomed trails if that is waht you like.Employees very friendly. Maybe a kittle disaapointing when it comes to getting a good cup of coffee on the mountain.
