Gardens are amazing and well worth a visit. Water features are excellent. Very disappointed to find the potting shed and tree house closed on the day we went. Be careful in the restaurant in the gardens lots of delicious looking cakes and scones, they were uncovered so the flys and wasps were having a feast. We reported this at 11am and when we returned at 4.45pm they were still uncovered not very hygienic and shouldnt be allowed to have food exposed. Also ask about the annual pass unfortunately it's just for the castle but well worth it.

One of the most beautiful gardens I've even been to. I went there with no big expectations, haven't checked photos or info online at all. I was so surprised to see over 300 species of roses, a beautiful field of cherry trees with about 50 swings hanging there, so many different plants (even a garden of the most poisonous plants in the world!) and an absolutely stunning little houses in the trees with small lights all over the leaves. Absolutely magical! That's a special place, will definitely visit again! p.s. the ticket is valid for a year so you can come back whenever you want in 365 days!

Beautiful garden that has huge lawn and plenty to see. The children have different activities to do and they love the bamboo maze. It is worthwhile to buy the annual pass. We are staying in the area and have already walked over 3 times.
There are deck chairs available which are great to use on the lawn. The Poison Garden is fascinating and a great initiative for drug awareness.

We chose to visit the gardens when the cherry trees were in blossom and were rewarded by a wonderful spectacle. What a fabulous idea! The rest of the gardens was beautiful and fascinating and the staff very friendly and informative. They made the visit extra special. The staff in the cafe however seemed very depressed in contrast. This, together with the inflated prices - some items were ridiculously priced - made our visit to the cafe one which I would not care to repeat. I would, however, heartily recommend a visit to Alnwick gardens. It is a very special place.

Really had a good time with the family. Enjoyed doing the giant trail around the gardens with my daughter. Also crafty dinosaur hat was easy for her to do and she liked wearing it all the way round. The cherry blossom trees are well worth a look as the whole orchard is beautiful to wonder through. A lovely day out, enjoyed by all!

Very nice scenery and interesting plants. A little pricey in the cafe. Charging 2 pounds for a can of pop but I suppose it goes towards the upkeep of the gardens. You have to take the guided walk through the poison gardens the guide was very knowledgeable and you might be surprised at how close to poisonous plants you are back home!

Love alnwick gardens however the off duty staff who where drinking wine shouting at 3 year olds for chasing water chickens to feed them pieces off bread then being rude to the children's parents using bad language was a bit off a let down duty manager not having a word with them saying he would inform there manager was a let down to our beautiful day glad we only paid for day passes for castle and gardens as if these are the kind of people they hire we won't be visiting frequently that's for sure

Beautiful gardens. Especially the cherry orchard in full blossom. It was breathtaking. Had roast chicken dinner in restaurant but wasn't very hot & guy serving was miserable as sin! Surprised as first time I've ever experienced staff less than first class.

Lovely gardens with super cafe and interesting features like the poison garden. Also various water features which can amuse the children and get them wet. Suggest if visiting with kids either put them in swimwear in that area or have a change of dry clothes with you. They will love it! The toddlers will love the ride on toy tractors with front shovels which they can fill with water at the waterfall and tip it on your feet! Be warned!

Beautiful gardens and water features

Beautiful gardens and water features
They hold some lovely events throughout the year
The tree house is very impressive and houses a restaurant, the gardens have a cafe/restaurant within the walls too and a gift shop with some beautiful items and local produce
Plants are sold here to and there is much more to the gardens than just a tourist attraction, have a look online at what they do and support

Glorious gardens. Fantastic big water features. Poison garden very informative. Main feature is the cascade of water which you cannot miss. Presently you have to pre-book which gives you a time slot. Also the tree top cafe is not open.
