Generally a good place to visit with family but was very disappointed when we came to visit Santa.
Always a favourite place to visit when in the area! So much variety and beautiful flowers and plants (:
Lovely place. Can spend the day there in the summer. Food is expensive so I would advise u to take your own xx
Just looked at the fountain which can be seen without going into the gardens
Superb well worth a visit check out the poison garden and all the fountains
Gardens are amazing and well worth a visit. Water features are excellent. Very disappointed to find the potting shed and tree house closed on the day we went. Be careful in the restaurant in the gardens lots of delicious looking cakes and scones, they were uncovered so the flys and wasps were having a feast. We reported this at 11am and when we returned at 4.45pm they were still uncovered not very hygienic and shouldnt be allowed to have food exposed. Also ask about the annual pass unfortunately it's just for the castle but well worth it.
Viewpoint super nice paragliding for those who want
Great day out for all the family but bring a change of clothes for the kids. The ride on tractors can get very wet!
Beautiful place, you pay into the castle then have to pay again to get into the gardens Mmmm not sure about that.
Gardens good but all food and drink and ice cream very expensive.
One of the most beautiful gardens I've even been to. I went there with no big expectations, haven't checked photos or info online at all. I was so surprised to see over 300 species of roses, a beautiful field of cherry trees with about 50 swings hanging there, so many different plants (even a garden of the most poisonous plants in the world!) and an absolutely stunning little houses in the trees with small lights all over the leaves. Absolutely magical! That's a special place, will definitely visit again! p.s. the ticket is valid for a year so you can come back whenever you want in 365 days!
Wonderful day out, loads of great things to see. You must do the crazy golf!!
First class, All staff extremely helpful,
Would recommend without hesitation!!
Beautiful garden that has huge lawn and plenty to see. The children have different activities to do and they love the bamboo maze. It is worthwhile to buy the annual pass. We are staying in the area and have already walked over 3 times.
There are deck chairs available which are great to use on the lawn. The Poison Garden is fascinating and a great initiative for drug awareness.
Beautiful gardens but very expensive , miserable staff
We chose to visit the gardens when the cherry trees were in blossom and were rewarded by a wonderful spectacle. What a fabulous idea! The rest of the gardens was beautiful and fascinating and the staff very friendly and informative. They made the visit extra special. The staff in the cafe however seemed very depressed in contrast. This, together with the inflated prices - some items were ridiculously priced - made our visit to the cafe one which I would not care to repeat. I would, however, heartily recommend a visit to Alnwick gardens. It is a very special place.
Really had a good time with the family. Enjoyed doing the giant trail around the gardens with my daughter. Also crafty dinosaur hat was easy for her to do and she liked wearing it all the way round. The cherry blossom trees are well worth a look as the whole orchard is beautiful to wonder through. A lovely day out, enjoyed by all!
Beautiful gardens, where kids are still allowed to have fun.
Maybe a bit overpriced but a beautifully kept garden
Beautiful and super care. I hope you like Harry Potter
Amazing place to visit. Gardens are beautiful. The poison garden is definitely worth a visit.
Very nice scenery and interesting plants. A little pricey in the cafe. Charging 2 pounds for a can of pop but I suppose it goes towards the upkeep of the gardens. You have to take the guided walk through the poison gardens the guide was very knowledgeable and you might be surprised at how close to poisonous plants you are back home!
Always a great place to visit for a day out or just a walk.
Nice and relaxing gardens that are peaceful to stroll through, especially on a sunny day.
Love alnwick gardens however the off duty staff who where drinking wine shouting at 3 year olds for chasing water chickens to feed them pieces off bread then being rude to the children's parents using bad language was a bit off a let down duty manager not having a word with them saying he would inform there manager was a let down to our beautiful day glad we only paid for day passes for castle and gardens as if these are the kind of people they hire we won't be visiting frequently that's for sure
Loved the place the grand kids found loads to do and i got some good tips from the poison garden tour lol definitely recommend
Castle and gardens well worth a visit but there are many references to Harry potter whoever he is.
Beautiful gardens. Especially the cherry orchard in full blossom. It was breathtaking. Had roast chicken dinner in restaurant but wasn't very hot & guy serving was miserable as sin! Surprised as first time I've ever experienced staff less than first class.
Really loved this informative tour very educational too
Beautiful place my daughter loves it here. Worth the money
Not worth it early in the season. Our trip was in early April and no flowers were out with not enough other activities on to make up for it. Poison garden was great though.
Lovely gardens with super cafe and interesting features like the poison garden. Also various water features which can amuse the children and get them wet. Suggest if visiting with kids either put them in swimwear in that area or have a change of dry clothes with you. They will love it! The toddlers will love the ride on toy tractors with front shovels which they can fill with water at the waterfall and tip it on your feet! Be warned!
Great at night with lights and always good to walk around but Christmas market was very poor this year compared to others. Could have been do much better!
Spent a wonderful day at Alnwick Gardens. Lots to see and the water features are beautiful. Would definately recommend a visit.
Child friendly, lots of space to run around, places for them to explore. Walled garden pleasant with unusual flowers and shrubs. Nice restaurant and shop.
This is really the very best @well kept gardens ever been to, all staff really know there stuff. Water fixtures are amazing, and the poison garden is a must. Spent all day hear. The tree tops restaurant is lovely must book for evening meals.
Wonderful place to visit. Plenty to see all year round.
Beautiful gardens and water features
They hold some lovely events throughout the year
The tree house is very impressive and houses a restaurant, the gardens have a cafe/restaurant within the walls too and a gift shop with some beautiful items and local produce
Plants are sold here to and there is much more to the gardens than just a tourist attraction, have a look online at what they do and support
Beautiful gardens, great for kids too with lots of interesting sections to explore.
Only downside is the price can be a bit eye watering if your in a larger family
Beautiful gardens, slightly over priced, hence the 4 stars. Absolutely loved the Poison Garden.
Beautiful setting on a summers day. I expected more gardens but it's more theme park with family activities, the bubble blower was fantastic! Enjoyed the whole experience.
Gardens were nice, waterfall really impressive. We did the Crazy Golf too, great fun. Castle closed for winter sadly but still views from a distance can be had from the grounds.
Very enjoyable and plenty to see the weather was brilliant so that makes all the difference , talking to a couple of gardeners and they were happy to tell us about the garden
Amazing gardens, really nice place to have a walk around.
We did have excellent weather which added to a very enjoyable experience, and as for the water features - amazing.
Great family day out, gardens looking lovely as always!
Glorious gardens. Fantastic big water features. Poison garden very informative. Main feature is the cascade of water which you cannot miss. Presently you have to pre-book which gives you a time slot. Also the tree top cafe is not open.
When I die I want to be sitting in this fabulous garden
Astounding Gardens. Highly recommended all year round for all the different bloods. Wheelchair accessible and they allow you to bring and eat your own picnic on the grounds.
Beaitiful. The poison tour was great. Everything is well maintained and trimmed. This eoukd be a beautiful location for a event. The war memorial water fall was very heart warming. I like the hedge tunnels. This is truly a magical place.
Beautiful gardens. Water features, poison garden, bamboo maze, rose garden. Cafe and gift shop too.
We thought this was included in the price of the castle, but it isn't, shame as it's lovely but price was a bit much
