Disapointed in this place as not much that I would class as a garden. Should be titled as a pleasure garden and not simply a garden.

Beautiful garden, great staff, and a hood cup of tea. The guided walk was very informative. We'll be visiting again.
Currently at alnwick gardens just at the start of our day and currently rating it 1 star solely due to the rude member of staff serving in the gift shop. Very rude middle aged lady. Very bad customer service. Will try find out her name before we leave.
Great gardens, staff very nice, restaurant very good.
Outstanding garden development well worth the visit for the wide range of activities. A must see in Alnwick.
Rose garden superb with wonderful perfumes. Took ages to find it though as map hopeless and no signposts around garden.
Fascinating, quirky, varied and high quality. Much more to offer than just plants. Very impressive waterfalls and fountains. Lots of stuff for kids. Probably unique. However someone to talk about the plants themselves would have been nice.
Looks like she has already been in the poison garden
Beautiful. Its been a few year since I was last at the gardens and I have to say they are getting better with age. The cherry blossom was amazing.
Simply brilliant. A must visit if you have kids and are in this part of the world or if you love gardens
The gardens themselves are a lovely walk, my wife and kids love them.
The shop seems pretty poor to me however and the nearby treetop resteraunt has on both our visits to it been highly dissapointing, with very poor service
Love this place. Wish it was nearer and would visit it more.
Amazing place visited yesterday extensive range of flowers and plants lovely place to walk. Plenty of seats around the gardens
Beautiful place with lots to see. Had a lovely day here
Loved it! We were too early for the best of the blossom and won't be able to visit until mid-summer - we shall certainly return ASAP.
Beautiful place despite being early September and flowers not in bloom will have to return in summer
Absolutely wonderful, good value for money , lovely place to eat again very good value
Lovely gardens, well worth a visit. Really hot day we went but plenty places to chill in shade... treehouse was nice good cocktails...nice staff
Great place ! The poison garden is a must visit ! Guide was great, entertaining and informative. Fountains were a bit disappointing though as place look impressive.
In the day we went it was very sunny and I think this helped. The gardens are spectacular. Both adults and children alike lived our day here and we had plenty to do. It's a beautiful place with so many lovely things to see.
Great day out and much better value than the castle
We took advice to pay the extra on top of the castle price and see the gardens and it was only worth it if you join a tour of the garden. We had the excellent Jackie as our guide and she made it an enjoyable and informative tour. Her enthusiasm was infectious and we then went on to the poison garden. Although interesting our guide wasn't as good as he could have been and missed a few plants out like the deadly nightshade.
Overall it is the price that would stop us coming again, but Jackie was at pains to point out that the profits are ploughed (pun) back in to the gardens and the duchess charitiable work with the community.
Pleasant and pleasing, it is a good place for a weekend holiday
Lovely place to go for a walk round. Poison garden is a real eye-opener...
Decent food and very nice atmosphere. A bit on the expensive side
Great place to visit however the experience with the layout of the one way system, was confusing and poorly signposted. No staff to inform you of how their system works, especially as we haven't been back in a year. Some staff wearing masks some not. Overall they need to do some work to improve the covid safe way to visit and could learn a lot from national trust. Finally there were far too many people there for our liking, even though this was a ticketed event the car park was really full and there were the same amount of people that we would have expected prior to lockdown. 3 stars, sorry but you need to do some things better.
Love it every time. Good for kids to explore but actually enjoyed it with my grown up friends too! Discover something new every time
Great wedding venue, fantastic gardens and mostly nice staff apart from "Jaquie" who's purpose of employment it seems is to be rude and unhelpful.
Great day out lovely gardens and fun water features for kids
Alnwick gardens are great very disappointed with the parking, had a lovely day in the gardens only to come out and seen my car had been damaged by another car and nobody had seen it done there were parking attendants when going in and no parking attendants when coming out
Nice gardens to spend time looking around.cafe a bit pricey though
Beautiful gardens immaculately kept. Plenty for kids to do too with the giants trail and crafty cabin.
We went on the wizarding week which was fab and super fun. I think you need a really early start and a whole day to enjoy the beauty of this place and make the most of it.
Was at market in there found it hard to get around with wheelchair
Pure banging mate.
Best wedding venue ever.
My 8 & 11year liked it better than the castle. It was smaller than I thought but fun to wander around. The swings in the orchard were nice and relaxing, the shaded arched walkways by the fountain were a welcome break from the sun and serene. The pools and fountains were fun for the kids, just wish they activated more frequently though. The walled garden was fun for us to play hide and seek in too. We spent a good 5 hours there enjoying them. The food was a little expensive in the restaurants and they ran out of hot food in one of them. The car parking charge was an unnecessary addition to the day's cost, not expensive just a bit cheeky
The grounds and the garden still awesome as ever. Really appreciate it alot. There is always a good team that makes it lovley and special magic is always happening there. I do enjoy it every time I go. I can't wait to return.
Lovely gardens, lots of places to explore or just sit and enjoy some peace.
Would have been great to visit but not dog friendly
Beautiful well layed out gardens and a really impressive water feature. The poison garden is really interesting and there is a great fairytale inspired treasure hunt. The tree house restaurant is beautiful although I can't comment on the food as when we got there it was closing for a wedding reception. Entry prices are a little steep hence the 4 stars.
Always nice to wander around the gardens. Had gluten free options in the cafe. My 3 year old loves to run around the water features
Beautiful it's many years since I visited!Really should have purchased a yearly ticket to see it in all seasons!
Great experience! We went mid-may and the gardens were full of the most incredible flowers. We were there on a beautiful sunny day and it was pretty crowded but there's so much space and so many things to see, that you don't really notice the crowd after a while. There is a restaurant/bistro but we didn't order anything. It did look very kids-friendly. The gardens in general looked pretty nice to do with kids. Make sure you can spend a whole day here. You won't regret it!
This is a lovely garden with huge variety. It appealed to all of us in the family from age 6 to 40. Fountains and water features a highlight.
A fantastic castle featured in many films and TV shows, especially Harry Potter 1&2. Good tours of the castle showing the filming locations used.
Good exhibits in the museums. Price was a bit steep as you have to pay separately for the gardens.
Lovely visit to the gardens, sunny weather, ideal for a good wander around. The Poison Garden tour was interesting - it's surprising how many common plants can be so lethal! Enjoyed a little sit down on the pavilion terrace just watching the grand cascade and all the water jets. Plenty of parking and lots of lovely lawn to sit and have a picnic.
Lovely! It is a great place to visit different times of the year- see the plants in all their glory. Good facilities and staff are really friendly, pleasant and helpful.
Fabulous gardens with lovely restaurant. Very enjoyable visit.
A maz ing! Not many places where you can have family fun on a swing, a beautiful cherry orchard and a cow pie all in the same photograph!
I love this place, it is beautiful. I have so many memories running under the fountains and have such a great time. When we went on holiday this would be the place that I would so look forward too. Great activities and lovely people. So fun!
Had a lovely morning here with the family at Christmas have been before would recommend a family annual pass
This would be great for a family with young children but for a group of friends looking for a break off the A1 it seemed overpriced, small and dull...
Again families go, everyone else avoid... Go to the castle instead.
Such a lovely, cosy restaurant with absolutely delicious food and attentive staff
This is a beautiful garden and some lovely sights. Lots of interesting stuff to see, like the poison garden.
Facilities are top notch, but prices for food and drink are very steep!!!
It is a privilege to be able to view this private garden that's open to the public!!
Beautiful gardens with great facilities. The poison garden is fascinating and the interactive water sculptures are fantastic for the kids. Really family friendly place with loads for the kids to see and do.
Lovely venue for a wedding. The light show at night was really nice and the fountains in the background made it a magical place. Did not have the chance to explore the massive tree house but it looked impressive and we want to come back to explore it further.
An excellent day out for all the family. The kids will love it as you find all the bits from the giant that is spread amongst the grounds. It means you can look around and the kids don't realise you are seeing everything. There is the tree house restaraunt as well as a cafe and a gift shop. A must is the poison garden where it's an eye opener as to what is and isn't poisonous. When you buy a ticket it is valid for a year. Plenty of parking to
Good day out interesting plants and water features.
Beautiful experience for the whole family. Loved watching the fountains.
Beautiful environment. So proud to be from the North East of England and have access to amazing places like this. I last visited in 2002 when it first opened. It's taken me 17 years to go back (how silly of me) and to see it so well established is great. The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable - visited with my friend and her daughter who was in a wheelchair for most of the day. Thank you so much to the staff who went out of their way to help us and make our visit as stress-free as possible.
