This is one of the best hotels in the United States, bar none. The rooms are large and every one has a great view and a sitting area with a fireplace. Incredible spa, incredible restaurant (JORY), and the staff is eager to please. A must stay place if you're visiting the Oregon wine country.

Love staying at the Allison. The rooms are quiet and spacious. Jory has great food, and we always enjoy a trip to the spa. A great getaway from Portland and a short trip to wine country.

I had lunch with 6 other people. I ordered the beef hash meal with brussel sprouts, and the meat was the most tender I have ever had. No gristle at all. Overall the service and food was worth it.

The Allison is a very nice hotel tucked away in wine country just outside of Portland. In the winter months the place is a little bit sleepy, but the rooms are very nice and the staff is very helpful. Visit during the summer and you'll find the place bustling with outdoor patios and a nice restaurant. Best reason to stay here are the quality accommodations combined with quick access to dozens of nearby wineries.

Rooms are nice, but definitely overpriced. Stayed in a penthouse suite. Was spacious with 2 balconies and nice views. Had massage and pedicure in the spa and the atmosphere was nice, but was nothing special. Were staying overnight, but couldn't get into the restaurant because they were booked out for weeks. Overall, not impressed

We had an amazing experience there. The staff are professional and efficient. The property is so beautiful. The room is spacious with beautiful view. We love the welcome basket, bath salt, essential oil and everything.
The only small complaint: it would be even more perfect if there is a coffee maker in the room with coffee and tea bags. it would be nice to be able to enjoy a cup of tea/coffee and relax.

I spent an afternoon at the spa with my wife and had a wonderful time. My massage was great, I only wish it had been longer. The gentleman's lounge looked nice but I spent most of my time relaxing beside my wife in the co-ed lounge, enjoying tasty drinks and treats while reading magazines, reclining on comfy chairs and chatting. The staff was very attentive and I would definitely return.

Great long weekend gateway.

Great long weekend gateway.

The facility, staff, and food was consistently excellent. IMHO, in the same league as a Four Seasons property.

The two mistakes we made were:
1) Not allowing more downtime to just hang / enjoy the property (vs wine tasting, etc)
2) Not pre-arranging for spa treatments ahead of time. (Staff had reached out prior, but I figured they'd have last minute availability)

First class hotel.

Perfect location to explore Oregon wine country. Will return!

(We got lucky with no overlapping large corporate group, but might want to inquire to make sure you have excellent experience too)

Awesome staff, facility and amenities. Did not stay overnight but took my wife to the spa and to get dinner. The spa was excellent, clean, and the staff was top notch. Jory is one of the best restaurants I've been to in quite a while. Everything we ordered was a hit. I would definitely recommend this place and can't wait to go back.

WONDERFUL SPA STAFF!!!

WONDERFUL SPA STAFF!!!
We came with a large group for a spa day with our office ladies and had nothing but top notch treatment from the first phone call to walking out of the spa after completion. Amanda was our spa event coordinator and was so very easy to work with. We had a few changes here and there and she was always very informative and helpful as well as accommodating when we needed to adjust things "day of." Our staff had everything from massages, and facials to body treatments and hair masks. NOT ONE PERSON was disappointed.
I would highly recommend The Allison Spa for anyone looking to have a luxury experience. Although the initial cost can leave you with a bit of sticker shock... this place and staff are worth EVERY PENNY!

This is the BEST hotel I've stayed at in this area!
The staff are so helpful and welcoming!
Use the valet service...its free, but do tip your runners as they do actually RUN to fetch your car.
They really have thought of everything.
The rooms are sublime, the views are great and the grounds are beautiful!
It's a 5 star experience so let them treat you, just don't for get to tip the valet attendant and the bell hop. Those services are free with your stay, but tipping is nice.

Went here for an anniversary dinner, and it was fantastic! Everything - the service, the food, the wine - was wonderful. The pinot noir chocolate cake was a highlight! Definitely recommend for special occasions.

Jory restaurant at the Allison is high class yet not out of reach. Prices are on the higher side, but worth the premium for the experience. We went as a group and had an excellent view of the stormy Oregon weather. I ordered the beef hash (breakfast/brunch menu) and it was superb. Tender beef, well seasoned, not overcooked vegetables. I definitely recommend it.

Beautiful hotel. Jake at the front desk is wonderful. He and I had chatted prior to our visit and was helpful in making some accommodations for wineries and restaurants. I agree with another reviewer the beds were not that comfortable and water did not get super hot for the shower.

Absolutely loved it. My go to girls hang out or could be a romantic getaway too. Wonderful spa, housekeeping, room accommodations. We were treated like royalty. Food changes regularly so very interesting choices. They have their own vegi garden too. And talk about a beautiful ornamental garden and grounds to explore. Need I say more, you won't be disappointed.

The Allison is awesome. The staff was extremely helpful. I'm not really a luxury spa kinda guy, but I will have to admit that I enjoyed my stay. It's going to be hard to go back to a life where I don't have a turn-down service included. The grounds are beautiful, I highly recommend walking their sidewalks and gravel paths to check out the art and amazing landscaping.

My experience at the The Allison was primary with Jory, the restaurant. It was a beautiful morning for breakfast. The staff was attentive and responded quickly. The food was delicious. I chose the buttermilk pancakes. Before my order arrived I seconded guessed it, but once it arrived I knew I made the right choice. The pancakes were divine. Looking forward to another opportunity to dine and visit The Allison Spa & Inn and Jory.

Beautiful hotel in Newberg, OR. They really do it right there and its obvious the staff is well trained as the service is impeccable. Having a hospitality background it was nice to stay at a place where the staff treats you like they should. Everyone says hello, everyone smiles and everyone obviously knows hospitality. The restaurant was amazing for the meals we ate there and the spa was extremely relaxing. The grounds around the hotel are also kept up nicely and my wife and I enjoyed walking thru the hotel's vineyards and around the grounds. Lots of great spots to just sit and relax around the property. Newberg is a quiet little town with not a whole lot going on but you are in wine country with hundreds of vineyards to explore. Portland is also not far (less than an hour) and is a very cool city with great bars and restaurants. We explored the area around Mississippi ave and really loved it. We also took a ride out to Cannon Beach which was beautiful.
Erin at the concierge was excellent with communication well prior to us arriving and she steered us in the right direction for our Portland adventure which included brewery recommendations.
The rooms at the Allison were exceptional. Each had a little balcony and a gas fireplace which was a great touch. Overall this is a place to recommend for any wine, nature enthusiast or if you just want to go to the spa and be pampered. Hard to miss at this hotel. Keep up the good work.

FOOD POISONING. Don't trust the food. We were food poisoned at The Allison and the management didn't do anything about it, they didn't even apologize. Went for a Mom's weekend getaway and spent the whole weekend vomiting in our room. The way they handled this event was unaccommodating. We will NOT be going back.

We paid about 500 bucks for a room with beds so bad we couldn't really sleep. I have had better beds in cheap hotels. The room was nice though, and the view was not bad. When my wife tried to take a bath and me a shower, the water was barely room temperature. I called down to the front desk and they had to send engineering to fix the boiler. However it was already 7 am the next day and showers and baths were already done. I will never stay here again.

The room and the Jory restaurant were both outstanding. The spa however has very limited and basic options especially for a manicure. Make sure you ask specifically if they can accommodate...they do not do SNS or acrylic and don't have the ability to remove those polishes. Plus they have very limited polish options available. If you want a good experience stick to the restaurant

Beautiful place, the staff is fabulous. Had a family Thanksgiving there, great dinner. The spa personnel are very accommodating. I had a broken foot and it felt wonderful after being gently touched. The only surprise was that there was no on-site beauty salon. I asked about this and it seems that their clientele is mostly local, thus using their own hairdressers. Bad for me, I had a clay head to toe masque. I needed professional help. The grounds are gorgeous, the room amenities are to die for. I want to move in permanently.

Wasn t sure what to expect with knowing it was a highly ranked spa, but we were so happy with the experience ! The staff were all kind, friendly, welcoming, professional and knowledgeable! The food at Jory was outstanding, we shared some meals and there was no hesitation to split them up with lovely presentations! We truly felt pampered! Hoping to partake again with daughters and granddaughter!!!

The hotel is not managed professionally. It is managed by the internal rules which seems to ignore the hospitality to guests. When they made the wrong booking after confirmation by the phone, it took them forever to confirm the details and the hotel manager kept on making inconsistent execuse and worse - he pretended he is making try but never try to make our stay better. I never had this experience before anywhere in the world and will never recommend this hotel to anyone I know. To be fair, the restaurant is good quality and good Oregon wines and other hotel staff are friendly.
