I was very surprised that no elevator works. I had never seen it in any museum in this category. So, right now, no one with a disability can visit this museum. The answer they gave me was that as soon as they are going to change the elevators because they have blocked all that exist in the museum. Simply incredible. Otherwise the museum is not bad, it is rather small. What I liked most was the plant that corresponds to the old palace.

Very beautiful museum, with lots of interesting art pieces. Free entrance for under 19, which is also a plus. I had a good time trying to understand what each peace wants to transmit. Definitely recommend it!

One of the most beautiful museums I have ever seen ... a journey into art and how it has changed over the years to the present day .. for those who still have the opportunity do not miss the exhibition on Keith Haring

They could be more informative when you enter. Most people que to leave their coats, which you must, but they had lockers down stairs for 1-2 euros. Good to know when it's crowded.

I was disappointed with the poor organization of the Rafael exhibition. The 1st floor was completely overcrowded, poorly ventilated and not air-conditioned. Artistically good, but certainly not an atmosphere to enjoy. After 5 minutes this part of the exhibition was over for me. The photography exhibition was also below average. In contrast, I found the exhibition of contemporary art interesting. Also not tingling was the fact that the admission control forced me to use the shop exit. It was not citizen-friendly.

great art museum

great art museum
The traveling exhibition is particularly interesting - this time the pictures by Keith Haring.
But the connection with the state rooms on the second floor and the "older" artists is also worth seeing.
The Expressionists on display made the greatest impression on me.
We recommend.

Great museums with little but impressive collection. Check their events but they usually have some Picasso and Monet. Walking through staterooms was a bonus.

Don't forget a grab a quick bite and drink at the food stand just outside.

A small Great Museum for which you need enough time to see its works of art .... It has a part of the Palace and another one the art gallery. Due to lack of space, from time to time they change the works for those that are kept in the basements. A gem of a museum, it is not wasted, I will return for sure!

A superb gallery of mostly modern and contemporary art, with a special focus on high modernism (from Impressionism to Cubism). And now they have one of the most important painting exhibitions in the 21st century, namely Claude Monet's "A Floating World". It was an extremely intense pleasure to trace Monet's development, from realistic beginning, through impressionism, to almost non-figurative abstraction in the mode propagated later by Cy Twombly...
A comment made on February 07, 2020: I and my wife have noticed that Albertina's repertoire hasn't changed much in recent years: Herbert Batliner's collection is presented in different configurations, which is OK. The only problem is that they change a couple of paintings and they announce it as a new exhibition, which is the case with the current "Warhol to Richter" show: basically, thay added a Warhol's picture 'Mecedes Bens W125' to an earlier exhibition of Katz's, Richter's, and Helnwein's works and they sell it as a new event! I don't think it's honest...

Always presenting world class exhibitions. Anytime worth a visit. You can even buy yearly entry ticket which is a good deal if you come often to Vienna. You have to be prepared for big crowd most of the time and for a queue to get in. Also inside can get crowded.

Art Gallery with 3 sectors: 800-900 art, modern, architecture. In addition, you can visit a historic wing of the building. In this museum you can photograph the works, of course with due precautions.

Great selection of art displayed. I was here during "Lange Nacht der Museen" and of course it was totally overcrowded - but you could still manage to go where you wanted with little hold up.
Four instead of five stars because climate was terrible. Way too hot and humid inside when I visited, perhaps also because of the amount of visitors.

Temporary by Claude Monet simply superb
An unmissable path in the research, in the work and in the life of a giant of the art of the 20th century
Some neo the typical Austrian organization seemingly precise but in reality pedantic rigid and inefficient ... with officials and staff eagerly busy in bureaucratic schemes devoid of rational effectiveness and customer care
Row of kilometers but only one open box on 3 ... from the row to the cash register you go back to that of the wardrobe and then you go back to the entrance ... even on days when it is expected and there are thousands of people the closing time is urgently set at 18 ... and you let people in until 17 and 45 ... time that they do the ticket and then go to the wardrobe that when they return at the entrance is now to go out .. .

Exhibitions of contemporary paintings is always fun. Maybe they need to take more risks to present current young and elder painters. To show central-east european painters would be great help for them.
