Beautiful place with a lot of space. Classical masterpieces were really unforgettable experience. Much less impessing was exhibition of modern art. But I think that everyone, at least once in his life, should see Picasso in own eyes.

For me the Albertina is more than just a place to go with guests to show off Austrian imperial decor. I am always looking forward to the temporary exhibitions as they are always of top quality, well curated and put in spaces that let the art speak for itself. Try to stir away from visiting on weekends as it can get very crowded.
You must buy tickets online beforehand. Otherwise long standing in line. The museum itself is a wonderful old structure. The exhibitions are always worth a visit. There are lockers at the cloakroom. For me a must on every visit to Vienna.
Vienna's favorite art museum. I come here once a year, and in 2018 I caught up with the Impressionist Masters Exhibition, and many of Monet s works are full of eyes.
Magnificent museum, too bad that the day I went there the whole top floor with the paintings of Picasso, Klimt and other great artists was entirely occupied by a gala dinner! I am forced to remove two stars, they More
World's best graphic collection, created and justified by the husband of the favorite daughter of Empress Maria Theresa, Albert Kasimir August Ignazius Pius Franz Xaver of Saxony, Duke of Teschen. The marriage with Marie Christine remained childless. A girl from whom she was released on May 16 died. Marie Christine fell ill, how many women in this time to childbed fever ... Albert remarried after the early death of his wife. By the way: The tomb of Marie Christines in the nearby Augustinerkirche is very worth seeing !!!
One of the most interesting art galleries. Have a nice breakfast just to get your ticket online. Don't forget to leave your jackets and bags in the gloves before trying to get in.
Museum of modern art with temporary exhibitions but most interestingly the second floor dedicated to impressionists, you see if you are a painting lover or you are more than three days in Vienna
Beautiful museum although a little small. By cons big black dot on the fact that there are many stairs and not necessarily ramp especially between the rooms.
I went during a temporary Monet Retrospective exibit, which was greately curated - I enjoyed the chronological and thematic sequencing, as well as the short and effective written explanations. The contemporary art gallery is thought provoking and challenging. And the other galleries also offered many artistic delights. The exhibitions are well curated, contextualised and set in such a way that one never feels lost.
When I went, there were exhibitions showing where the Habsburg royalty stayed, along with'Monet to Picasso', architecture related exhibitions, photography exhibitions, contemporary art exhibitions. The student discount was 8.5 euros, and there is no Korean guide. You can see famous painters at once, so even if you're not familiar with art, it's good to go. It is said that Monet will be exhibited from September. And I like the souvenir shop! It's 1 to 1.5 euros per postcard, and it's around 4 euros for magnets, so it's good to buy this and that! The balcony on the 2nd floor is a Before Sunrise shooting location, so take a picture too.
The profile of the ALBERTINA is based on three pillars: First, at the Palais, with its classicist rooms and original furniture; secondly , a modern museum building based on the seven main collections, and thirdly , an intensive and demanding exhibition program on the pioneers of art history from the Renaissance to the present day, based on these collections.
THE SEVEN MAIN COLLECTIONS OF ALBERTINA
The one million-piece graphic collection is one of the world's largest and most important graphic collections, with holdings of international art from 1400 to the recent present. Special exhibitions from the holdings of the Grafische Sammlung are constantly taking place in the Tietze-Galleries for Prints and Drawings .
Essential collections of this collection from Impressionism, Pointillism to Fauvism, Expressionism, New Objectivity, Russian Avant-garde and Surrealism to Picasso become permanent in the permanent exhibition Monet to Picasso. The Batliner Collection shown.
Essential collections of these ALBERTINA collections (26,000 drawings and prints of the present) and paintings by the Batliner Collection as well as donations and long-term loans are regularly shown in the Galleries for Contemporary Art .
The approximately 100,000 prints in the photo collection range from the beginnings of photography to today. Exhibitions from the collections of the photo collection and the history of photography are constantly taking place in the Galleries for Photography .
The collection of about 40,000 architectural drawings and plans, as well as models founded in 192o as an Austrian architectural museum spans the period from the late Middle Ages to the present day. Special exhibitions from this collection take place in the Tietze-Galleries for Prints and Drawings .
There is collection includes the acquired by repurchase equipment of the original equipment of the ducal or archducal Palais: these are in addition to the Louis-Seize furniture and paintings made for Duke Albert especially the 1822 commissioned by Archduke Carl at the workshop of Joseph Danhauser Classicist The equipment of his palace as well as the equipment commissioned by Archduke Albrecht and Archduke Friedrich in 1865 and 1895 respectively.
The most recent addition, above all to the collection of contemporary art, is the Essl Collection. The Essl Collection comprises about 5,000 works of art, of which about 3,000 are works of Austrian art and about 1,700 are international works.
Worth a visit for the staterooms. Found the permanent collection, especially its usual setup of periods and themes a bit underwhelming. Went for the Keith Herring Exhibition, which was fun, especially if you are not familiar with the artist.
Great place to see art. There are great exhibitions with tons of artworks! You can spend ll days just by walking and looking around. There is also nice souvenir shop which is not that expensive and there is a lot of different stuff. We enjoyed Egon Schiele exhibition so much!
Nice museum full of paintings of high artistic value. Classic exposure is not my favorite, it makes everything a bit boring. Still worth a visit. The outside structure is very nice, in the center of the city!
A beautiful collection (but don't expect the Louvre, a medium to small size museum) that includes pictures of many and varied artists, Monet, Picasso, Degas, Renoir, Moore, Chagall and more. When I visited there was also a collection of modern art including Andy Warhol's works, not knowing if it was a permanent exhibition. Highly recommended for art lovers.
Nice collection, this was our first museum to visit in Vienna. Liked how collections were structured by different art movements. A nice surprise was to discover famous works on paper by Da Vinci, Michelangelo and other big names of Renaissance.
This is a nicely sized gallery with several rooms of Impressionist and later pictures that won't exhaust you. This is also a historic building and you can take a look at some state rooms too.
My favorite art gallery in Vienna. Whether an exhibition or all. A couple of hours or just a morning or just an hour are worthwhile here. You meet great people. A place to be inspired. Drink cafe. To read and just be. I love the Albertina.
