This park is quite similar with Universal Orlando Resort since it also contains selected attractions from Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood. The most popular ride in this park is 'The Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey' which anticipates many visitors from both Japan and overseas. Unfortunately, all the attractions are dubbed in Japanese language without any subtitles.

I have a really.. really good time there. Great views, great service, great atmosphere.. Even though we have to wait in a queue for a quite long time, it was worth the wait! There are vending machines everywhere so you won't get thirsty.. For sunny day, I recommend you to use sunscreen and use sunglasses or hat. The map was quite helpful so stick to that so you won't get lost. The merch are beautiful and unique. HEAVEN!
It's a bit less organized in the locker area for the Harry Potter the forbidden journey. The people from entrance and the people leaving the exit are totally mixed in the locker area, it's kind of chaos, but the game was very interesting. In addition, there is no English subtitles for the 4D show and Terminator show, etc. It's totally not foreigner friendly. Overall, it's quite expensive as compared to the Universal Studios in other places. The express tickets we bought earlier were wasted as during non peak season, it's OK to go with no express ticket (only worthy of using for flying dinosaur.

A good place to go for holiday makers, young and old. You can spend a whole day here. My advice is to get the express pass so that you don't waste time queueing for rides. I like the butter beer and turkey leg here. Amazed at the buildings in the Harry Porter place. Love seeing the cute minions too
Hi everyone - We went to Universal Studios yesterday and i just want to recap the events so to save others from frustration. First off there is no one in the park that works there that speaks english so you better have google translate ready. If you buy the express tickets, everytime you go thru lines you have to scan them, enlrage them, reduce them, go to the next ticket. IT is a pain. We bought the most expensive ticket and the expense ticket and were still excluded from 3 rides that you have to buy individually. That is all great but they dont tell you about that until you are in the park and you cant buy it there. The problem is not the Japanese, they are extremely percise, intelligent & sophisticated, the problem it is an American company running the place. I would never go here again!
The amusement park made for adult. Everything are good. The best one is the one in Harry Potter area, i was lucky to only queue around 1 - 1.5 hours, otherwise would be best to use the VIP pass
I hate queues. Most of the big attractions were around 120 minutes on the sunny August Saturday that we were there so by rights, this would not normally get five stars. However, the rides are really good and, with research, preparation and flexibility, those waiting times come right down. We arrived around 9:30 to reasonably small ticket queues but we had already bought and collected tickets from an online service (Klook). We had also bought a four ride express pass for Harry Potter, Minion Mayhem, Jaws and Jurassic. The first two came with fixed ride times but the others just gave access to the much shorter express queue. Various express pass options exist for different ride combinations, usually as single, four or seven rides so choose carefully. The above four were definitely the best value for money for us. Picking some of the other rides with shorter queues and the occasional 'single rider' queue meant that we never waited more than thirty minutes! I think that meant nine rides in the day which we were very happy with. Food is better here too, compared to most other theme parks I've visited, with a wider range of options (meaning smaller queues again) and better food at lower prices. I know that's not what you come to a park for but it makes for a much more satisfying day! Altogether this is a great day out but definitely worth paying extra for those express passes.

The lines were nothing that we expected, so much shorter. There are always going to be lines but nothing like Tokyo Disney. And the rollercoasters are really good. Harry Potter area is excellent.
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter was the most enjoyable aspect, especially for someone who s not into roller coasters. However I wish they had firewhiskey available at the Hog s Head (but the highballs were good too)
incredible amount of shops & restaurants, beautifully designed streets, but nothing to do. We are here on Tuesday afternoon, no school holidays, just a notmal Tuesday: you are lucky if you wait for "only 60 minutes" for a crappy ride. Their fairly average looking roller coaster ride estimated wait time was 170 minutes! Outrageous! You pay $70 entrance fee and all you can really do is to line up for hours or browse shops. Hard to imagine what it looks like to on weekends and on holidays. Do not go. Waste of time, waste of money.
Awesome, I will summarise my experience in that single word. Each ride will leave an impression and some will be there in your memory due to that adrinaline rush it created. If you are in a trip to Osaka put this as your priority 1, sure you will never regret. Also consider purchasing the express pass, otherwise you will loose a lot of time in queue.

Smaller than Florida Universal but had different rides (backwards and belly down roller coasters) and featured character areas (Sesame Street, Hello Kitty, Snoopy). Japanese visitors are always very excitable and give the park a unique atmosphere. Enjoyable but always busy with locals, even on weekdays -- expect a minimim 1-hour wait for any ride. Arrive early as park opens by 8am,and take singles line when possible as wait time is usually much less than the estimate.
We had a great time with our nearly 3 year old. The indoor play area in the kids (snoopy, sesame St etc) was great. Harry Potter world is a little disappointing but the butterbeer is good!
Of course the Wizarding World of Harry Potter is a must visit spot! Prepare your wizardian item to be use here.
Some of the best hours of my life were spent here. A lot of the interactive/theatrical rides are in Japanese, but they will still blow you away. They usually have parades and other events during the day for special occasions like Halloween and Christmas so take advantage of that. This is one place in Japan you definitely need to visit.

It's a must to visit and enjoy the rides and attractions of Universal Studios whenever you're in Osaka.
It was a cold day when we arrived. We planned to go be here as early as 8:30 so we could line up for the rides in Harry Potter. Surprisingly, a lot of people had the same idea Nevertheless we enjoyed our visit specially with the kids in tow.
You can download a studio map in klook (where we also bought our tickets) so you could plan ahead what ride to take and where to have lunch. The restaurants are scattered along the area so you have to pick early on what your kids will enjoy.
Make sure you have the right outfit to match the weather and not freeze to death like we did
Amazing place for children and family. The only thing is that the rides are not in English which makes it hard for some of the foreigners.
You can get an English map to go around the amusement park which is really useful as many of the staff cannot speak English.
The information center representatives do speak a little bit of English which makes it your life a little easier.
To get there, make sure you know that the parking will cost you 3000 yen. Doesn t matter who you are and what time you leave, it will cost you 3000 yen so be prepared.
Lastly the one day pass is more than 5000 yen for adults, but you can always pay with your credit card.
Food wise, obviously it s not cheap... but mainly it s the standard Amusement park price.
If you are in town you should visit here.
If you visit osaka, then you have to visit usj
The 1st thing after enter the usj is go straight to harry potter zone... swing your magic wand and definitely try the 4d
Also try the jurassic park roller coaster lol... oh don't forget to take a bite of turkey leg over there, it's really delicious
Must go to Universal Studios Japan if you are in Osaka ! Spend 1 full day here for full entertainment. The staff here are always smiling and is very contagious. I suggest you purchase Express Pass for Harry Potter & Minion Mayhem. These 2 rides queue are about 2 hours long even during weekdays.
Apart from the rides, enjoy the park with its wonderful snacks.

Had a blast at Harry Potter and Jurassic Park. The world of Harry Potter is amazing, loved atmosphere and even took the ride twice. The Jurassic Flying Dinosour rollercoaster was awesomely terrifying.Didnt like the Terminator 4D, so outdated and needs to be replaced. Overall qeues are moderate, lesser crowd at dawn. Foods nice. Souvenirs quite expensive..Would like to go back again
Went on a Tuesday, was very cheap and not too much people. Waited between 10 and 40 min for most rides.
The longest lines I have ever experienced in a theme park coupled with the highest prices I've seen in a Japanese park made USJ a slight disappointment.
The seasonal Halloween attractions were fantastic. Biohazard The Real 3 was an interactive haunted house-style attraction where you shoot zombies played by actors. I would find it easier to recommend the park if they had more unique attractions such as that. Otherwise you're just spending a day waiting in very long lines for attractions that are in America anyway.
Glad that it wasn't crowded when we went here. Better to go here around January and weekdays!
Fun! 2 days wasn't enough. That's right, 2 days. Will return. Harry Potter zone was a fun, but wished it was a larger zone.
Everyone is lovely. It's very clean and full of all kinds of fun. Do yourself a favor and go on The Flying Dinosaur as many times as you can. Incredible.

One of the better Universal Studios that I've been to. Nice Harry Potter world and if you're a Minion fan, this is a theme park to go to.

Such a fun place to visit I really enjoyed my time at Universal Studios Japan. The staff are extremely friendly. All stores inside the Theme Park have their own individual theme and it s such great fun shopping in them as they are very interactive for children also. My toddler is completely obsessed with Minions we had the best time here. I did expect the park to be a lot bigger then it was but other than that it is well worth the visit. We went mid-week, which I heard is the best time to visit to avoid crowds, avoid weekends and holidays if you can as it can get very busy.
Even if I'm here for 1 day, I don't get tired.

Not as big as the one at Los Angeles but a good experience. There is a Hard Rock shop and cafe nearby and a marketplace outside the park.
Staff are friendly. Weather is a factor here. Most of the area are open space without roofs. Day of your visit here is also a factor due to many people are visiting during the holiday. Most of the rides are in Japanese language so you can experience the rides but you can not understand it fully.
The best experience in my life, love everything there, the sailormoon show, Harry Potter and food was great. I need to go back ASAP

Very nice, not very big park. The Harry Potter world is amazing with a lot of little details and some cool attractions. You need to get a timed ticket at one of the ticket machines to enter Hatry Potter world though. The waiting times for the rides tend to be quite long in the early afternoon but in the morning or evening you can get on most rides within one hour or less.
