So far the quality has been decent. Not perfect but certainly acceptable for the price. Got no complaints there. Doesn't burn a hole through your wallet like Telus or Shaw. Tried Lightspeed but I decided to switch to AEBC. Haven't looked back. AEBC is considerably better than Lightspeed , which was also difficult to set up. It's much easier to make payments with this company than Lightspeed which didn't care about its customers at all. So AEBC is certainly better than Lightspeed which I'd rate as 1 star.

Just switched to AEBC from Teksavvy as they couldnt offer the 300mb package. so far so good, AEBC has been pretty on top of things. the only thing that I noticed through the whole setup is the follow up is a little slow, however Im extremely pleased with the Service Im getting in YYC. for the cost, a great bang for buck. the change over only left us with one day of down time.

I'm the almost 1 and half year customer right now, Internet is ok, it feels low lateracy with the naked docsis 3.0 modem to use the shaw's network but just no hotspots. However, the thing is let me more and more want to change the shaw 150m with hotspot for just about $400 more for 2 yrs, because I've already own the modem which I originally just want to be the customer for just few months, even I have to use the advanced modem, but at least I don't have to wait any MANTAINENCE time once or twice few month, I did this review when I don't have home internet but cellphone. I want to warn the new customers this who want to join, but sometimes if u don't mind u really require the internet like ip phone, reasearch or e-mail, it's really anoying and frastrated right? The dealer don't have to explain it too much, I'm sure yall lose a lot of customers by this.

Horrible customer service. We told them from the day we signed up that it was an rv next to a shop and needed a tech. They booked us nov 1. Then the day before after we took nov 1 off work to be available for the tech, they cancel that and switch it for Nov 6. Saying they put the address wrong. NOT OUR PROBLEM. DO NOT BOOK THIS SERVICE. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!

I am satisfied with the service AEBC provides even though I had some issues initially. They have been resolved to my satisfaction. Occasionally the the cable connection goes down as this is all due to Shaw doing some ongoing maintenance. The speed is very consistent. The customer service and the Tech Support is very knowledge and good. It is better to deal with 3rd party than the big boys. Only negative is that the modem does not have WIFI or additional out-put ports. Something AEBC can consider for the future. Keep up the good work.

Great price and internet works fine; however, the company recommended modem drops connection at least once a day and needs to be replugged.

Great to have cheap internet, but I recommend not buying a modem through them (it's pick up only, not by mail and it's low quality).

Also, customer service is very poor.

Worse internet service

Worse internet service
Customer care and technical support poorly educated.
One answer "Power off and restart your modem if didn't work leave it for 15mins and try again"
If they can't fix problem, than tough luck you have to wait for couple of days to get internet service restored.

Shaw internet (literally) at half the price. They provide the modem or modem/router if you sign up for 6 months. I recommend getting the stand alone Technicolor TC4350 modem and using your own router. Way better setup than the Shaw 2-in-1 modem/router. They offer a 2-in-1 as well but I never liked 2-in-1 devices. I'm running the TC4350 with a ASUS RT-N66U. Solid as a rock. Only catch: tech support is YOU so you need some basic networking skills or find a 15 year old high school nerd and bribe him/her with pizza. TekSavvy is also an option with better support but slightly higher prices.

I am using AEBC for just over 7 months now, overall the services had been stable.(1-2 down times and sometime may be slower in peek hours). The front end customer services is great, the ladies up front may be a bit green but any company will go through these phases, as long as both sides willing to work things out and I have no issue. The tech support is somewhat a 1 man operation and the tech has good feedback which keep you up to date if something goes down in the network. I believe this is one of the better 3nd party companies out there which is up front and no BS. Please keep up the good work :)

I have been using AEBC internet for 2 months now with no complaints. The switch over was incredibly simple and their communication is great. I work from home, we stream movies and my son plays online gaming with internet 75. We have no issues, and any questions are answered promptly. Thanks Todd and team.

It was bad, but it gets worse during last year! I almost have no internet and no one is responsive! I call them different time, they said they will call back, but it never happened! waste of money!

Applied new service on their web site (from Alberta), a page was shown that application was confirmed (or alike). However, no confirmation email, nothing at all. Not sure if this company is real or not.

I wish there was no-stars option. They have the worst service quality and even worse is their technical support. It took them 4 days to figure out that my modem is not working (duh! I told you the first time I called that the internet is down) and then they wanted to book the support visit 2 days after. They didn't understand what it means for a tech business not to have internet for that long.
In talking with their technical team, they were not apologetic. They were rude and then told me that they services is "AS IS" (like IKEA furnitures!) and they don't care that it's been that long without internet.
Don't get any services from them. You would regret it.

Switched from Telus ADSL to AEBC cable internet 30 about a year ago. My network has free VOIP phone line for home phone and after market TV Box for watching oversea TV channels. The internet connection has ZERO issue since the first day. Now I don't need to worry about getting warning Email about over monthly data usage limit like I used to be with Telus. When the Cable Internet 30 monthly fee dropped from $47 to $39.95 this January. I contacted customer service to price adjust without any hassle. I have recommended a few friends switched to them. We are all happy with AEBC so far.
In conclusion:
(A)ffordable pricing
(D)ependable internet connection
(A)mazing customer services
ADA is awesome!!!

Stay Away

Stay Away
-Terrible Customer Service
- Promised internet speeds of 30mb/s but was less than half
- Internet would need to be rebooted once every few days as it would stop working
- Their business is literally run in a basement
- You get what you pay for with AEBC and Buyer Beware it is not worth it.

Garbage connection, basically never got the advertised speeds. When we cancelled the continued to charge us and made it a pain to fix. The "TV Box" they sell is also trash. It is laggy and barely could stream without buffering, and yes I used a wired connection to the TV box. Do not recommend. Edit: It was under my partners name.

I love this company! Zahid has been amazing since I got this about 2 years ago. Help me get all set up really easy. Better, faster service on the 25 than I had on Shaw 300. It's great to have a go to person for questions and no hold time. I had one outage in the entire time and that was because a traffic accident which they were able to tell me right away and I was able to monitor on the Shaw website to see when it was back up. Great price and great service. I recommend to all of my friends!

Thank you AEBC Internet, I was able to reduce the cost of my bill by half for the same quality of internet. I like the option of their modem without wifi because I connect myself with a powerful router and the whole house even the basement is well connected. With shaw I also used a modem without wifi because these modems with wifi are not powerful enough. At the moment I'm more than satisfied with the connection, the response is quick enough for a request by phone or email. How long it lasts!

Honestly the worst experience I have had with any service. I WOULD NEVER advise anyone to go with this company. Do yourself a favour and go with a different company like Tek Savy.
It took 3 weeks and my internet was still not hooked up. Calling about a dozen times I was told someone from my family cancelled the service. Another week went by and then I found that my service denied.
I have tried confronting the ONLY service rep ( literally called 10 times and got the same guy) but to be greeted by rudeness, VERY unprofessionalism and overall a really bad attitude. Comments like we don't have time for this back and forth. The rep barely let me even get a word in. There was not ONE email stating that our service was verified or even that we were customers. But the money was taken out already for the first bill a week into this s***storm.
The worst part, you try and call the Manager or escalation...you get the same service rep...
Honestly guys please do yourself a favour look for a different service provider. Absolutely HORRIBLE.

If it was possible to put Zero stars I would. This company was a disaster from the beginning and only got worse. I never got the advertised speeds, their service was very unreliable, the quality of what they offer is garbage and when I called customer support they were completely useless. They even had the nerve to charge me to fix issues they caused. While using AEBC I was overcharged, double charge, incorrectly charged...just a mess and once again good luck when it comes to calling customer service to fix any issues. If you think you'll save a few bucks by using AEBC you might, but you'll pay for it in many other ways...STAY AWAY!

HORRIBLE!! Unorganized company, communication was so bad no follow up, I have to call them to follow. After signing up with them, after 2 weeks of using it, I got disconnect for no reason before the long weekend on covid. I called them up, they say they close my account for no reason. Now the whole weekend without internet! I also gave them my email and they still haven't even send me my sign up info.. It's a gong show, I will stay away from this company. I guess I will just stick with Shaw and Telus for now, at least it's reliable.

UPDATE: After doing more research I ended up putting the router in bridge mode and running it purely as a modem. I purchased a router and hooked it up to the modem provided by AEBC. It's been running great for a couple weeks now. After much back and forth, AEBC has agreed to credit the $60 paid to upgrade to the modem/router combo to future payments. Overall I am satisfied with AEBC and would go with them again. My advice is to get the free modem AEBC offers and get a solid router for <$60.

ORIGINAL: Internet is basically non-functional. One of the modem/router combinations AEBC sells has a know hardware which causes poor performance. In our case the internet works for about an hour then stops. We need to reset the router each time this happens. Rinse and repeat.

After doing my homework (should have done this before buying the modem/router) this hardware issue has been known for over a year. Will update review when AEBC provides a resolution.

there was a time I really enjoyed AEBC. Picked up a modem from their downtown location, went home, plugged it in, wala. cheap internet. who cares about fancy office and fancy website. i am no gamer or heavy streamer, i dont need super fast and reliable internet. Who cares about friendly customer service and tech support if they are providing the service like they're supposed to.

two years went by and I am moving. a REQUEST to move the service is $25. But apparently the new place I am moving into needs some work done, so my bill for a technician would be $89 instead. Cancellation is $0. In that case, i could very well sign up with another budget ISP. but Todd the sales rep lowered the activation price. so i thought, oh well. it's cheap ISP, i can't complain.

Todd gave me a 2-hour time frame where a tech was assigned to arrive. Well, no one showed up. Gave him a call and he told me a Shaw technician might not be on site but ensured me a tech is somewhere working on a pole and doing some wiring work. He could not locate the tech. A few hours went by, no internet. Few more hours with a few emails and phone calls later. Still no internet. no updates either. Very poor communication from AEBC.

They are affordable especially during this Covid thing but it's an oldschool wire so I'd only get it outside of an apartment complex cuz it's a shared connection. Good for townhouse or house cuz it works fine then. Plus im on there lowest quality connection and I'm in a townhouse complex by myself. Hope it helps but ya they are affordable obviously.

I have been with Qlink/ AEBC for a number of years. I have found their support and customer service staff to be very helpful. I don't know a lot about computers but found they are always willing to help me through the steps to solve my problems.

Terrible. Support is toothless, at the mercy of upstream providers. Modem not configured properly, credentials not provided until requested, speed is less than half of what we're paying for. IP changes by day which makes being on call near impossible as incoming connections to employer require IP whitelisting.

Poor service all around, 30 Mbps plan might actually give you 5mbps if you're lucky which means the tv app won't work, so low price isn't actually of much value (if you can't watch tv or use the internet then why pay anything)

Was there today to pickup my modem. Wow customer service 0. The girl at the counter has no idea how to treat a customer. I have no faith in this place..I hope my service doesn't suck as bad as their customer service.

STAY AWAY. This place randomly charges you for other peoples accounts. They're an absolute mess. We had 3 weeks of active internet service before everything was abruptly cut off. According to them, our payment information was somehow connected to another person's account, so we were paying for their service and not our own (???) Took them more than a week to even look into the issue because they don't work on weekends... and apparently not weekdays either. A week after our service was cut off, they were still no closer to a resolution.

Canceling and closing our account is even more troubling. Services ended and our final invoice was paid but they've charged us 4 additional charges since then. After the 1st fraudulent charge, they refunded us the amount and I requested they remove all payment info from their system. They assured me they would. Come January 2021 and we're charged again to the card they supposedly removed from their system.

This company steals your money so keep an eye on your bank statements.

Great third party SHAW internet service provider. Initially the only draw backs were that one has to purchase the modem and router and pick it up from their office. But totally outweighs the monthly charge of the big box providers. Like anything these days you have to shop around for the best deals.

Been a customer with them since 2014. The only and sole reason I am with them is because of price. I did learn a few things over the years I like to share.

1. The CipherTV Bar is absolutely garbage and 4-5 year old technology (for $200), recommend if you want to buy TV service from them, use your own apple or android device. Their TV service will not work fluently after a few months on the CipherTV bar as it is designed to run on the oldest software (KitKat) and as soon as all the apps update the device is simply overloaded. Sadly they do not support AndoidTV and will not do so otherwise it may erode their own outdated device.

2. If things go bad, their customer service is trained to lie to blame Shaw. Since it took forever to resolve my issue, I actually called Shaw and got on the phone with their business unit and the team where AEBC is a customer off. They said that my issue was solely in the hands of AEBC and that it is not the first time they pass on blame.

3. Internet can sometimes be spotty. This is because these are AEBC servers, not Shaw.
