Ron/Dave you are truly amazing and we thank you so much for fitting us into your busy schedule at the last minute. We live in California and we were in the process of purchasing a used Land Rover LR4. Even though we had the CarFax reports, we wanted to have it thoroughly inspected before we pulled the trigger. I'm so glad we did. They ran complete diagnostics, test drove it, and did a full visual inspection. Then they provided us with a thorough and comprehensive report of what they found. The car was out of warranty and there were a couple codes that pointed to possible transmission problems. When we approached the dealer with the issues they denied that they were actual problems. In the end we decided it was not worth the risk and we backed out. I truly feel we made the right decision and saved ourselves a lot of money and grief with the help of Advanced Vtech. These guys not only fixed my car but also saved me thousands of dollars. After another "expert" convinced me that I needed my transmission rebuilt I took my car to them after I saw the high reviews. Yet instead of unnecessarily "fixing" my transmission for $3000 or more, they diagnosed the problem as lying elsewhere and offered to correct it for less than $500. Needless to say I am a very happy and probably soon a returning customer!

I just came back from advanced V tech. Cant begin to say how overwhelmed I am with their service. Dave and his team did a wonderful job explaining what the problem might be in my car and how to go about it. What struck me as outstanding is that they did not try to give me huge numbers in $$ saying this is wrong and that is wrong. Very honest and trustworthy. At the suggestion of my son-in-law, I brought my car to Advanced VTech for an oil change and to find out what services I would need to take me through the winter. Imagine my surprise when I was told that I should wait on certain services for now and that there was no extra charge for the diagnostics they performed. Advanced VTech has earned my trust and I will be returning again.

When my belt broke 65 miles from home, at 5 o'clock...I knew it was going to be a long shot at getting home. The people at VTech went above and beyond to do what they could. Unable to get a tow until the shop was closed. A mechanic opted to stay, not even knowing what he was in for. Due to CoVid, I was not able to Ride with the tow operator. Ron from VTech drove to my vehicle, and gave me a lift back to the shop. Despite every effort, they found a more severe issue, and had to order a part. Again, they went way above my expectations, and helped me find a hotel room nearby. Ron then dropped me off at the hotel. They fixed the car the next day, and the cost was very reasonable considering the effort they put forth. I would have never expected service at this level as a new customer, but I will not hesitate to return, hopefully for less demanding service!

Had major work done on my 1966 Mustang and I am extremely happy with the results.

Dave and Ron were happy to welcome the work and Rocco, the mechanic who worked the project has to be
a miracle worker. I ve had the Mustang since 1976 and it has never run as good as it does now.

The total bill was very reasonable considering all the work that Rocco had to do.

Had my car towed over to replace a bum alternator. Spoke with Ron over the phone and he gave me a very fair estimate and also a tentative time to get the wok completed by. Also, their workmanship and service were A grade. Would recommend to family and friends.

The owner and the techs were very helpful during my first visit with my Harley. However, when I came back the second time to replace my Corvette's tires, I felt somewhat cheated.

I called the owner several times to discuss makes, models, and prices of tires I should get for the car. I did this because Duxler in Libertyville had very competitive pricing. The owner was helpful and assured me that Continental ExtremeContact DW tires are a good choice for me and that for $1100, they can mount and align the tires. Happy with the result, I chose to come here because Duxler quoted me the same price but is considerably farther.

After dropping off the car, the owner called and said the tires came but the front tires ordered were the wrong size. He said I gave him the wrong size (which is possible, so no complaint here), and the correct size will cost $30 bucks more per tire and will have to be next week. I agreed.

Afterwards, he called and said one of the tire sensors is broken, and it'll be an extra $70. I agreed.

Then he contacted again and said my car is too low to be aligned on their machine, and that it'll be an extra $30-40 to do it on another machine. I declined and was a little frustrated by this point. I decided to go somewhere else because I was sick of these extra costs.

When I finally picked up the car, the car looked great. I signed the receipt and happily went home. But then when I looked at the receipt more carefully, I realized the tires were Goodyear tires and not Continentals. Not only that, the front ones were All season and the rear ones Summer Performance (Eagle F1 Supercar). I contacted the owner right away and he said he didn't remember us talking about Continentals, and thought we were talking Goodyears this whole time. I reluctantly asked if these tires are comparable to the Continentals and he said yes, which I found out through my research that Eagle F1 Supercar tires have terrible reviews.

I texted him later and asked if he can switch them out due to my extreme dissatisfaction with the tires, he ignored my texts and had not replied.

Very disappointed. I was extremely happy to have met a local shop with a friendly staff. I will now take my business elsewhere.

David is a very smart, energetic, kind boss. He is a bright chemical engineer. David and Ron definitely know how to manage both car repair and business in an efficient way to meet long term customer needs. Not only they really understand car repair techniques, have extensive hand on experience and are able to communicate complex issues in a very clearly and simple way, but also you can trust their professional advice and works. They are very responsible for what they did and asked me to come back just for assurance and peace of mind. Their location and office hour are much better as well. David even offered driving his car with me to pick up my son at nearby high school when my car needs a little bit more time to be fixed and I was nervous to drive his loaner car in the evening. Talked to the owner, very nice and extremely informative. Called on a Sat afternoon after hours, received a phone call back even though it was the weekend at after hours. Setup for appointment for the following Monday. Very easy to communicate with and setup the appointment. Had an oil leak above the engine, diagnosed quickly with again very detailed and informative response, and friendly and trustworthy manner. Great pricing and work. Very professional all around from the owner to the mechanics. Thank you for the help! Will def be bringing my vehicles to you going forward.

Ron was amazing. Stayed open late to help fix emergency flat tire, went out of their way to make it quick and accurate.

I came in for a routine oil change and a couple concerns about the vehicle. Mentally, I was prepping myself for a few hundred dollars in repairs but was pleasantly surprised when I was told one of the issues was a little corrosion they cleaned up and the other issue could wait due to low usage, but should be monitored. They also replaced a bulb free of charge to add icing on the cake. I've been using this shop for a year now and this kind of service is what brings me back to them. Thank you Dave and Ron!

Came here for a wheel alignment based on the good reviews. Front desk guy was friendly and polite. After an hour of waiting they told me they couldn't perform the alignment because my upper control arms and lower control arm was bad. They quoted me $1400 for the parts and labor. I bought new bushings for the upper control arms ($20 total) and replaced them myself. As far as the lower control arm there was nothing wrong and another shop did the alignment without a problem for even less than what Advanced Vtech quoted me. I will not come here again.

I was referred to Advanced V-Tech by owner of Lambs Auto who had to close business because of some personal reasons. I spoke with David and pleasantly surprised to see his friendly attitude, trustworthy and honesty.
Advanced Vtech team is very knowledgeable on cars. I feel they charged me reasonable and stopped me from making costly repairs. On the top even though they were busy, they repaired my car in few hours because I needed car faster.

Quality and affordable vehicle maintenance. Impressive shop involved in state-of-the-art fuel conversion for fleet vehicles. Talented staff also perform routine maintenance on older vehicles. Drove my 2001 family vehicle over 800 miles the following week with no issues. Recommend phoning them in advance so they can schedule and plan. Bonus: Long Grove Chocolate Factory outlet is across the street.

I found this place based on its proximity to my apartment and its high rating but I've probably never had a better vehicle maintenance experience. Dave was extremely helpful and took the time to explain the mechanics of what needed to be done and did so without using diminutive pet names or being condescending, which can be the norm at other places. I went in for a thwocking noise from one of my tires and came out with my new regular maintenance shop. Couldn't be happier!

Time and time again they have always been fair and honest and when I thought I had a big problem and it turned out not to be I was happy and they didn't do anything to try and inflate it.

Car had grinding noise when making sharp turn. Plus needing oil change. Came here as 8 am as first customer. Owner Dave not only had his man fixed the noise problem, throughly inspected my old car, and changed my oil, but he also showed me around his shop. Total price around $100. In addition, Dave explained to me what was wrong and other things that might be potential problems to watch out in the future. Very happy. Will tell friendship to come here for car problems.

From talking to Dave, I found he is an engineer with decades of experience. Very impressed with his knowledge and easygoing manner. However, I hope to not see him too soon.

This is my 2nd review. It's about my visit to Dave's shop on June 13, 2019. These are the details. I wanted to buy a 2017 used Camry from Craigslist. On June 13, 2019 the seller (who is local and happens to be mechanic himself) and I together went to Dave's shop for Dave to inspect the car. Dave was thorough. He checked the car's computer code. His man lifted the car for inspection. He confirmed that the car is in good shape but told that the spark plugs needed to fixed now. There are potential issues to watch out down the road, but engine, transmission, brakes seem to be all good. I ended up buying the car but having the seller fix the spark plugs and deliver the car to me this weekend. The seller seems to be an honest guy. He reduced the price slightly. Dave's expertise is assuring so I know that I didn't get a lemon.

I know nothing about cars. I knew Dave before and trust his opinion. Were it not for Dave's shop, I would never dare to buy a car from Craigslist. Thank you Dave!

I was in for an alignment on my lifted 2019 jeep wrangler and Dave and the rest of the staff were very helpful in getting the job done. He was straight up and communicative throughout the process. I highly recommend Advanced VTech and will definitely be going back for anything I may need in the future. The shop is clean and you can tell they take pride in what they do.

EXCELLENT, HONEST, PROFESSIONAL, SKILLED, and FAIRLY-PRICED!
We were a bit hesitant to believe all the great reviews on Advanced Tech - but in our experience this Summer trusting them to fix our Honda CRV -we are SO happy that we would give it 10 stars if we could. We had a complicated engine issue with our Honda CRV that my husband did not even trust the Honda dealerships to do after reading the user experiences/reviews about the issue on the Honda blogs & the fact that we got price quotes all over the place from the 6 dealerships we went to)!

Dave and Ron, the coowners are honest, friendly, and knowledgeable and they have an incredible team of mechanics there - quite a wonderful team of people! We went in and talked with Dave this July - who after consulting with one of his Master Mechanics (Gary) - understood the issue and put together a detailed, reasonable price quote. Seriously - this was a complicated issue but they were able to get it done for us within the week & it has been running absolutely perfectly again!

Ron & Dave kept us posted on the progress of the fix. Gary - the master mechanic that worked on our car - is a miracle worker - seriously! The quote was the price we paid - no upcharging. They truly did care about delivering good, quality, friendly service. I would NOT hesitate trusting any car to these gentlemen! Thank you so, so much!!!!!!

Emissions rejected my car because of a "broken" connector. These Gentleman took care of the issue right away, all it turned out to be was a broken clip on the housing of said connector. Even though it was almost closing time they applied a temporary fix free of charge. I made it back to Emissions center and passed. Saved me an hour trip. Thank you so much!

Everyone was very courteous and professional. I would not hesitate to bring my cars here for anything. I wish they were closer to home, but I will still make the drive for major repairs.

Refreshed review a couple years later... , still absolutely 5 stars. Dave and the team here stand behind their work like no one else I've ever seen. Reasonable prices, good work and unbelievable customer service it's the only place we take our cars.

We've been taking our cars here for a couple years now and they're terrific. I try to do the simple things myself (brakes, oil changes) but our 18 year old, 170k+ mile car has needed some bigger projects and they are really great at understanding what we really "need" to do to keep it safely on the road without breaking the bank. Work usually comes in at or under the estimate given. I really feel like they care about our car and about us being happy with the work done and they give us advice we can trust. I'd highly recommend Advanced VTech to anyone looking to get work done on their car.

If you need an oil change or have a mechanical issue, check Advanced VTech out. They are off of Lake Cook Road on Lexington in Buffalo Grove. Locally owned, they ran diagnostics on my 2005 van and told me what issue was and it should be covered under warranty at a dealership. If you live in Wheeling/Buffalo Grove area, please try them out and tell David you saw on Google review!

They have another happy customer. Ron and Dave are phenomenal proprietors and their crew run a great shop. Side story: while my car was being diagnosed, Dave let me use an empty office to work remotely on my laptop. Another time, when I was getting new tires and my car was out of commission, he even offered to drive me to work (nearby) that morning since I didn't have any other transportation. And of course their actual work is great; my car rides so much quieter with the new tires and alignment. Above and beyond!

Im newer to the area so when my car started driving erratically I was not sure where to go. I ended up at VTech because they were the first on the list and could fit me in.

When I first got in I was very impressed by the cleanliness and professional demeanor of the guys I spoke with. After I explained the problem, they showed me and my son to a private room with a nice couch and toys for kids to play with. While we were waiting I got into a conversation with one of the owners. He explained to me exactly the parts of the engine that could be causing the problems I was expirencing and told me more about the business.

After about 40 minutes they had diagnosed the issue and sent me home with a loaner. My car was finished by the time I got off of work the next day. All of the work completed was done at a great price, and honestly after the conversation I had with the owner I have complete trust that my car had been in good hands. They also let me know about something they had noticed but was not quite an issue yet and how to tell if it did become an issue.

I can say with complete confidence that I have found my new local mechanic and highly recommend them to anyone who reads this review.

You're lucky if you've found this shop to repair your vehicle. Honest, efficient, clean and professional are the first words that come into my mind when I hear this co. mentioned. I give em 10 stars on a five star scale. I needed them in a jam, far away from home. With my future car repairs, i will eagerly drive the 50 miles north in Buffalo Grove just to have them take care of it. I never even met them face to face, instead, I had to have my van towed there and just trust what they told me over the phone. in a time when you wonder "are there any more honest car repair shops any more?" yes there is, and its Advanced Vtech.

I own many cars and have gone through my share of mechanics, and I can spot an honest one when I see it. I was stranded 2000 miles from home in my road trip and Dave took care of me like you wouldn't believe. Didn't charge me an extra dime and even drove me to a local motel. The shop is extremely well organized and taken care of, and that says a lot about its owner too. You won't go wrong with this place. They will not lie to you.

The men here have been professional, honest, and treat us like family - everything we expect from our mechanics.
