Hotel is actually really nice however the staff is exceptionally inept. Was told I had a upgrade to find that person did not record the upgrade. Next day again offered upgrade staff offered to send bellman to move me, but then never did. I guess it's ok hotel as long as you never use email or the app to communicate with them.

Nice hotel. Company placed me here for a few nights during an event. Room was fine.

Hotel is definitely over the top and a bit much. Elevators take way too long to come up or down given the foot traffic.

Sure the hotel looked nice but was there anything that it offered over a decent Hilton or Marriot? Probably not.

Would I pay to stay here? No there's no need.

Beautiful 106 year old hotel. Staff was great got. Some communication issues but that's typical for Texas. Food was absolutely delicious at my friend's wedding... We had butternut squash with chorizo, Lobster and avocado salad, delicious sirloin and pan seared tuna. Really is beautiful venue.

The only place I will stay in Dallas. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Otto s is must stop for breakfast or a coffee. This is a great spot for a weekend getaway. The hotel has plenty of character and the rooms are fantastic with great views. You are close to any downtown destination by foot or a quick car ride.

Great location downtown. Fast valet. Great food. Very nice people and great service. The hotel has quite a bit of charm and I love it. It does need some extra cleaning here and there, but from what I understand, it is only 5 weeks in as the Adolphus.

When I hear words like "Classic Charm" I get scared...but...don't be nervous 'cause this place is Fabulous. You immediately feel like you've stepped into the Biltmore house...it's lavish, floors walls, fixtures...it's all Vanderbilt style. The hotel was apparently build by the Anheuser Busch family and has relics to show it's worth.

They literally have a Steinway piano commissioned by the Guggenheim family in a sitting area. The piano is 1 of 2 pianos commissioned by the Guggenheim's, the other one went down in the Titanic, yeah very cool. Also they have a portrait of Napoleon Bonaparte hanging in the first bar in the lobby...Napoleon had the painting commissioned when he became king...what...yeah really. The huge chandelier hanging over the steps to the main lobby is also one of two, the other hangs in the family's Clydesdale stable...yeah it's BA.

To top it all off they have an AMAZING bar called The French Room...it's not so much the bar as the staff that make this one great. The bar tender (Morgan) is a Mixing Guru, for real just ask him to make a drink for you, tell him the base liquor and let him go. AMAZING. Best drinks I've had outside of Tokyo. Also the coffee bar has some kid baristas that really know coffee...they have taken the time to hire good staff.

Overall the rooms are well appointed, as you would expect in a hotel like this, nothing new to see there - the halls are nice and well kept as you would expected at a hotel like this; I'm throwing a video of my room on YouTube just google Adolphus Two King Bed Suite. This place is an Oasis in downtown Dallas and I'll be back for sure!

Historic hotel in downtown Dallas with a nice old world vibe to it. Rooms are renovated and comfortable. There is an outdoor pool on one of the lower rooftops with a bar and fire pit. It is a great place to get a drink or relax. Restaurants are fancy with good food, but expensive. Portions were also noticeably small, so do expect a large meal. Elevators have not been renovated recently and were flimsy at best.

Beautiful, historic hotel in the heart of Dallas's original downtown. Hotel service was good and the hotel was clean. We did have to switch rooms upon check in, due to a spent hand towel and used soap being present in the original suite. Unfortunately the concierge lounge was out of commission, but the hotel offered a meal voucher for their restaurant; the wait for brunch was 45 minutes, so we ate off-site. Well done in some areas, but others need attention.

A gem and all class. Not the all the way Perfect hotel, gym is really small and the investment Iain the spa which is very nice. Rooms are big and nice, bed is fantastic. It's a 4 1/2 for me. Restaurant is great as well

The renovation has been amazing. While it's still under a lot of work you can barely tell! The rooms were beautiful. The staff were all incredibly friendly. Loved the pool bar staff. This is a place you could spend a weekend getaway and never have to leave with all the places to hangout.

Really a cool high class hotel. Everything about it is top notch. My only complaint is the windows do not keep the outside noise out well at all. Lots of street noise at night and construction noise during the early morning during a Friday and Saturday night stay. Just bring your own white noise. Inside noise is not an issue.

Great hotel... but my God.. fix your elevators. 10-15 min to get on one of the 2 working elevators.. have to ride with others or you d be there all day.. social distancing is impossible.. ridiculous

The room was great. The front desk however was rude. I called requesting a later check out (1 hour) and I was told they would not accommodate me. My husband was here for a state bar council meeting at the hotel on Saturday morning which ran past the 12:00 check out time. I have never been to a hotel that would not accommodate a one hour later checkout time and I travel a lot for my company. BAD PR....won t be back nor will I recommend this hotel to anyone. I will only tell them to stay away.

First let me say, I likes me some Dallas. The Adolphus played a big part in this. Upscale, but personable. Every single person there made me feel comfortable and at home. Answered any and every question with respect. Three restaurants, food was very good at the Cafe and the Coffee shop. The bar, you're not going to get Happy Hour prices, but service was excellent. Shout out to "Holla"(sp)(name)the bartender that made me feel like I was in my house having a cocktail. She's the best. Rooms are very spacious. Long walks to the bathroom, lol. Elevators are slow, but you will not forget your stay here.

Really nice and fun hotel. They did try to charge me for some items on the bar that we didn t eat, apparently without really looking. And they approved and then cancelled several credit card charges over the course of our stay so it was hard to track what we were being charged for.

This historic hotel has been well restored, and the lobby areas are beautiful. Earlier reviews mentioned trouble with construction at the site, but that is all complete. We had no trouble. The staff all did an excellent job. Our room, a standard room with a king-sized bed, was adequate. The bathroom and shower were excellent. The only complaint is that we could not get the temperature in the room below 73 degrees (F). I suspect it was a combination of old duct work and the fact that the high in Dallas hit 103 that weekend. We called maintenance, and they came up, but there was nothing they could do.

Friendly staff but in the midst of renovations. Many technical glitches. The bathroom floors get dangerously slippery from a steam shower. Perhaps once the renovations are complete the hotel will be in prime condition. Staff gets an A for effort but falls far below the mark in terms of execution of expected service. They should be trained that given the renovation conditions they should extend greater helpfulness in removing renovation obstacles.

The hotel is nice, the staff were great, the rooms were nice and I loved the shower... that being said; the first night the A/C in my room broke so the next day after working 12 hours I had to move to another room. The A/C in this room broke as well and maintenance had to come work on for 45 minutes at 10pm. While I stayed there I had laundry service (wash/dry) on gym clothes, however they dry cleaned instead of washed. Who has a gym tshirt dry cleaned! Asked several times for management to call me never heard from them, so I am stuck with a $39 bill for laundry that I had to rewash when I got home. Finally, I left the base of my electric tooth brush charger in my room when I checked out and when I called the hotel they stated it was not in the room. This could have easily been a five star review but unfortunately between the issues and lack of response from management I will never stay in this hotel again.

Stunningly beautiful lobby and seating areas throughout. Great for casual business meetings. The coffee shop is amazing to sit and work in as well. I did not stay in the rooms or taste the food, so note that this review does not reflect those areas.

We did a stay-cation for our anniversary and decided on the icon that is Adolphus. It was a fantastic stay. The service was friendly, and prompt. All the food we had at the bar or room service was phenomenal. The best Old Fashion in town, and one of the coolest places to have a drink before heading out for the night.

If there were more than 5 stars they would get them all. Beautiful everything and unique experience. Perfect location. Most comfortable hotel bed Ive ever slept in. Decor was comfortable. Made you feel like you were a guest in home not an hotel.

The Adolphus Hotel is a wonderful experience for anyone visiting Dallas. A great location with a beautiful interior and nostalgic regal look. The rooms are very comfortable and the staff are very attentive. A special thanks to Mickaela. Her charm and beauty only makes the guests smile.

I'm not sure why this place has such low reviews... I had an absolutely fantastic time. The service and staff were very polite and helpful. The aesthetic is unique but still upscale and posh. The hotel has a ton of different areas and shops in the bottom floor so I recommend walking around before you leave to appreciate the decor, architecture and beauty of it.

The room was larger than a standard king-size bed room usually is. The only complaints I'd have is that there's a weird step going from the elevator to the hotel rooms (it's about 3-5 steps tall, and can be difficult if you're carrying heavy luggage). Also, the location is kind of strange. It's on a weird... empty street and there was a ton of construction going on when I was there. So, it's a little out of the way and you have to walk a few blocks before it starts looking like an actual downtown area. All in all, I'd probably stay here again as the hotel itself was beautiful.

A beautiful historic hotel! It's so stunning after the renovation! The staff is amazing and if you get to dine at The French Room, you will have the most incredible experience if your life! It's the most beautiful restaurant I've ever seen & the food is utterly sublime!

I don't know how to rate this place. When they first opened they were a solid 5. Jose was running the Elite lounge and making things happen. Now funny things are not managed (locked doors, blocked doors (lobby) , a new resort fee (for having a gym and coffee in the room???) Staff training seems uneven.

Food was excellent.
Only negative was the very long wait for the elevator

This hotel was alright. The front desk staff were the single rudest group I have ever encountered. A blow dryer was not provided in my room, so I called down to get one. Waited 20 minutes. Called again. Nothing. So I went downstairs at 11:30 pm to get a blow dryer and was treated like I was a burden and the scum of the earth to these two front desk employees. I stay at around 100 Marriotts a year, this behavior is not on par of what I normally see. Absolutely wont be returning. Not that Texas hospitality I ve always seen in Dallas.

That Adolphus is a wonderful hotel! My wife and I got married and celebrated our one year anniversary here! The rooms all have king sized beds and are super comfortable. The staff were extremely courteous and helpful. We would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a place to have an event or stay in downtown.

Rooms were beautiful and clean! Really enjoyed staying here. The only complaint we had was that the elevators weren't working properly, so waiting for one took an incredibly long time - that happens, so totally understandable. But, it would have been nice to receive some type of courtesy compensation for something that affected so many guests (Maybe, a small credit for mini bar maybe? I don't know, just something to show consideration.)

What really made everything so incredible was the staff - so thoughtful, so friendly and just really personable. Y'all made us feel so special and made the experience a five star experience - everyone from the valet to front desk staff, and ERICK (sp?). Erick (not sure what his position was; bell hop?) was so kind and so friendly and went out of his way to make us feel welcome and appreciated. We really appreciated his outstanding example of customer service. We will come back, because of you, Erick. You are what we will remember from the Adolphus the most.

Beautiful rooms, large and spacious, bed was beyond comfortable. The concierge lounge for qualified members was large, well stocked, space for small meetings etc. Pool on the 7th floor is a big open area for a downtown property, very impressed, great fitness room with ample machines. The shower in my room was nicely done but incredibly small. Great old school feel.

Mostly positive. Beautiful hotel, rich and historical. M8ght have achieved 5 stars if it weren't due to COVID-19. Much of the hotel was closed which was highly disappointing. Other than the the only other complaint is the noise in the rooms. Too much street noise to get a good night's rest.

We went to the hotel for a night out.

Unfortunately, the promenade was outside our window. Loud music, cars peeling out, etc. until 2 AM.

When I mentioned this to the manager, he said I should have known better staying downtown!

When Hurricane Harvey hit Houston, we evacuated to Dallas and came here. I was out of town on business and arranged for the travel for my girlfriend and the dogs. They would get there one day before me. I set up the reservation and called the hotel with the request to let me pay for everything online which they did. They could not of been nicer, especially when my girlfriend arrived. The valet attendants were very helpful in getting her, the two dogs and the luggage inside and into the room. The front desk was expecting her and got her checked in without any problems. The room was perfect and the service throughout our stay was stellar. Top marks all around. It has a beautiful lobby as well. Highly recommended.

Gorgeous property! Right smack in the middle of downtown Dallas. I went during December where they have a huge Christmas tree in the lobby. Well done! Service was excellent as well. Only odd note here is the elevators don't make a sound when they arrive so you have no idea which one is going to open or even when it opens. Not a big deal at all. Just odd. Overall very pleased. Can't wait to return.

The rooms & staff are great! Love the new updated rooms. The bed was very comfy & the amenities in the rooms were awesome! Areas for improvement are the elevator s, people were stacking up waiting for the one out of 5 that were working. Need more staff working the valet & the bar. We had breakfast the next morning in the bistro, food was cold & over priced. I miss the times when they had the piano player serenading you as you relaxed & enjoyed good conversation. This hotel has the look & feel of old Hollywood, I will return!

Absolutely one of the best hotels in the US! I spend about 150 nights a year in one. The customer service was world class! I was a great historical hotel that made all off the difference with each of its little special touches. There is clearly a ton of attention to the details here and it is much appreciated.

The staff are very nice and room is spacious and decorated well with decent materials. The bed is comfortable and everything seems clean.

Unfortunately the HVAC in the room is very noisy, and my room overlooks the front of the hotel, which is across the street from a construstion site that starts work before 6 am during the week. This might be OK if the windows had better sound proofing but I could hear every sound. The sound proofing between the rooms is also very poor, I could hear phone conversations and people simply walking around in their rooms. Also, the floor of the bathroom floods during the shower since the curtain doesn't go down to the floor and there is no real threshold between the shower enclosure and the rest of the bathroom. The controls for the shower while looking nice, were also very difficult to control since there was no handle to grab for leverage and instead you have to grab and twist a slippery knob that you can't get a grip on. There was a desk and chair in my room, but they obviously weren't intended to be used for very long as they were very uncomfortable, but look nice enough at least.

My overall rating is considering the price for this room. If the room was considerably less expensive my rating would be a little higher.

Beautiful historic hotel in downtown Dallas. I found the lobby and other public areas very nice and palatial. The Check-in was friendly, we paid for an upgrade to a suite on the exec club floor. The suite was spacious and beautifully appointed. The club was a bit disappointing as was the tiny pool that felt like an afterthought. Service is hit and miss and I was going to say not 5 star. But it is a 4 star rated and as such, excellent property for the price.

Old hotel but renovated now.
It has an old charm and from valet to door handler to front desk to just about everyone is kind and professional.
The room small but was clean. And then there was a downpour and the roof had a leak. They were sorry and got me an executive suit!! Some parts of building are old and so....
The elevators are old with wood floors, narrow but that s how a 1912 building is, I guess. They took their time but didn t bother me much.
The bistro food was great try their Brussels sprouts!! Too good.
I was busy with work so didn t go to the French or the high-tea but colleagues told me it was amazing- long wait list, so book ahead.
I just liked the hotel because it has a certain grandeur of old mansions, something personal about it.
I like that feeling.
I don t want to walk into an Omni, or Four season and see the gigantic grandeur. I liked that feel of the slightly faded warmth and glitter of olden times but still of this day and age.
I loved their scent when you enter it so bought the adolphus candle!
I ve feeling in future I ll stay here again.
And within walking 10min distance of everything!

The overall stay was nice, the front desk staff was great. I had one issue with housekeeping touching my toothbrush and throwing out an inexpensive piece of jewelry, I still haven't heard from any manager to settle this, which I was told that someone would contact me in regards to the matter.

Exceptional in almost every way. The lobby exudes old world luxury and historical elegance so take full advantage of the experience and all the amenities so you can appreciate it for what it is. The guest rooms have been updated since my last visit a few years ago and seem just modern enough. The concierge lounge, pool, spa, and fitness facilities all exceeded my expectations. The barbershop was a bit disappointing, but I'll save that for a separate review.

A beautiful old hotel with charming details and an impressive history. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Valets were great. Room was comfortable and spacious. Furnishings throughout are lovely and the Marriott has done a nice job of maintaining the architectural and decorative integrity of this most famous landmark. Classic!

My stay last month at the Adolphus Hotel was great. Everytime we walked into the lobby the staff behind the desk spoke and smiled. Christmas decor was so beautiful. I really like the location. How you can just walk across the street to the AT&T entertainment outside.

We had a great experience here...until we were leaving at 11am. We waited at least 10 minutes for a down elevator and finally gave up and walked down with all our luggage. There were obviously multiple out-of-service elevators, but no signage or apologies. Not cool.

Fantastic historic hotel that balances its many years of history with modern touches for today s traveler. Lovely lobby. The coffee and pastry shop in the lobby is a must visit. I wish I had time to go to the restaurants and lobby bar. The rooms were very comfortable and the bathrooms had early been renovated.

The Adolphus is situated in a great location central to a lot of downtown Dallas. The staff is friendly and the rooms have been renovated. They've kept a lot of the early 1900s charm, although that includes the tiny, scary, antique elevators. There were a few issues... Dirty shower floor, broken phone, no microwave in the rooms. Still, a decent stay.

Came here for our anniversary weekend. The rooms have been updated in a modern but still elegant way. Timeless experience every visit. The pool side parties get a bit loud but the rest of the hotel is elegant and stately.

The hotel was far too expensive for the overall value it gave me. That said, it is a beautiful hotel and property and was very, very nice. I am a native of Dallas and my family has spent a lot of time over the years in the hotel, dating back to the depression era. Therefore, I know the hotel's history and have memories of times eating there and attending meetings, weddings, etc. at the hotel. My wife is new to the hotel and she wanted to stay there, and we did. The eighteenth floor corner room we stayed in was nice, but was not very clean for an elite hotel. In general, the experience was very good, but for the Adolphus, it should have been better for that price.

I should have known by the look of the attendant's face when they asked me about the room next to the elevators that is nie a smart choice. Room has random noticed and a view of a construction site. Will know better next time!

Nice historic hotel in downtown Dallas. Room was large and clean. Check-in was fast. Had a nice dinner at the bar; the restaurant was closed for a private event but the bar served a full dinner menu so served its purpose. Trendy coffee shop adjacent to the lobby with solid breakfast nibbles on offer.
I did have to wait upwards of 10 minutes for an elevator to the lobby. This happened more than once and in one instance I ended up on a service elevator that thankfully made it to the lobby (couldn't control it!). The antique elevators are a nice touch but the main purpose of an elevator is to bring people to their desired floor...something that has improved over the last 100 years.
Also I was on a business trip so not focused on a night out but did briefly venture out to the 7-11 on the corner after dark and the neighborhood felt a little rough at that hour.

Absolutely Wonderful, Tea in The French Room at The Adolphus, Dallas! The ambience is just gorgeous. The food was very delectable & very filling. Judith Carter, Maitre D', just wonderful! I highly recommend Tea in The French Room at The Adolphus, Dallas.

Been to Dallas 4 times this year and this was by far my favorite hotel I have stayed at. The room was clean, bed was comfortable, and the lobby is an awesome place to hangout by the dual fireplaces, which created a space to make new friends. Otto's coffee is delicious and the bar has great drinks as well. I will definitely stay here again when I am in Dallas.

Rooms are great. Beds are very comfortable and the bathroom is clean and bright.

The valet parking is a nightmare when busy. They allow cars that are double parked and blocking the road to be serviced in front of the people who are in the correct line. Makes no sense. They should send them away and tell them to join the line correctly.

Bar staff are rude and just not enough of them. I ordered a drink 3 times and never got it finally I just left once the bar keep decided that it was more important to unload the glass washer before making my drink after I asked him for a third time.

Complained to the manager and he did at least comp my drinks at another bar in the hotel.

Interesting hotel with an historic feel but they really need to work on the service.
