As far as I'm concerned, this is the best undercover market in Australia, if not the world! Fresh produce, delicious meals from around the world, smallgoods galore, sourdough breads, cheeses, organic foods, live music and a wonderful friendly energy with people gathering there with friends for an end of the week catch up and shopping on a Friday evening or Saturday morning.
Give yourself the experience of Adelaide Central Market! You'll be so glad you did!

Hands down Australia's best fruit and veg markets. Great range, top quality, even great poultry, seafood and kangaroo. Also fairly well priced and locally sourced. Attached to Adelaide's China Town (laneway) and Asian restaurant district.

Warm people, great produce, each time l go l think, why do l buy fruit and vegetables from Supermarkets. Lots of free samples.
Even the avaricious Adelaide Council charging $100 because l didn't notice the Motorcycle park was temporarily changed and l and the other 3 MC's couldn't park there for an event happening next day.

After all these years, it still feels like an event going to this almost ol' world experience. It's so rustic it personifies ambience & atmosphere like no other in or out of this town. It has everything to ensure an enjoyable experience, from quality fresh fruit & vegetables, bakeries, seafood, butcher, your cheeses, various cafes, especially Lucia's, a Coles & an arcade in close proximity, even licenced facilities. Excluding the extremely busy peak periods, parking is relativel easy as is getting in & out. I love a Friday night or early Saturday morning atmosphere best. Chinatown around the corner & a host of eateries on Gouger street. I find it impossible to stick to my budget, I always buy more than I intended, many specials aplenty & that incredible market aroma. Haven't been? I don't believe you. Haven't been for awhile? Do yourself a favour & visit this unique Adelaide venue, bring any interstate guests or tourists with you, this place is highly recommended. There is something special about the market people that propagate the various stalls & add to the wonderful atmosphere. Go, visit! Cheers.

A wonderful market with good fresh products.

A wonderful market with good fresh products.
The building is very pretty and typical of Australian markets.
There are many products: cheese, charcuterie, vegetables, etc.
There are many cafes around, I advise you to stop for a brunch at Zuma Caffe.
The market is next to Chinatown which is nice to visit too.

Get here early. A fabulous market with amazing fresh produce from fish, meat, vegetables, fruit and cheese. On the outer perimeter are some nice quirky shops selling crafts, clothes and wines.
Definitely worth a visit.

What a spectacular wonderland in the heart of the city! There is nothing quite like the smell of the markets - its homely and a blend of fresh produce, coffee and delicatessen foods. You can get lost in here for hours and put on a couple of kgs if you're not careful

I was really bored on day after work and thought about visiting the market. To my surprise I bumped into a friend from college and my marketing trip just turned into a hangout session! there was a live band and we tasted some oriental snacks here and there, totally reminiscing our college days!
