If you are in Adelaide it is a must place to visit. A free tram ride is available from the central train station. It is a different world, unlike Randall Mall. You go back in time when you go there. So many fresh produce (fruits and vegetables, cheeses, pickles etc.) outlets. Different prices different qualities, different varieties all in one place. You can taste what you are buying before you buy.
There is a food court and a Coles also adjacent to it.
If I visit Adelaide I will certainly go there.

Great variety of shops. Massive choice of produce and products. Even though it can get very busy it's a pleasant experience. Plus has a great food hall with eat there or take out options.

A haven for vegetarians, foodies and bargain shoppers looking for fresh fruit and vegetables. Lunch or a cafe stop is no problem, the variety is as plentiful as the produce. If it's bread, meat or seafood that you are after, there are also vendors to meet those needs.

South Australian produce available in one area at reasonable prices in a fun market environment. I catch the tram here and bring a large chiller bag which fills quite rapidly. I seek Organic food where possible and there is good selection available from various sites. You need to take your time if you don't visit regularly so plan ahead to rest with fresh juice or great coffee at one of cafes to pace yourself. Notice boards alert visitors to new events and there is an information booth for personalised service. The toilets are cleaned regularly. Bench Seating is available at some busy intersections to sit and take in the lovely market ambience. ATM's are close by and all stalls have Eftpos.

Always a great experience. Can be busy, but if you're not in a rush you can take your time and soak it all in. From italian small foods to fresh produce, to south american, spanish and marrocan... Even polish and japanese. If you can eat it and think of it, you can probably find it here!

I hate the city but love the central markets. Kids love the adventure when we do go. Lots of fantastic fresh meat, veg and much more. Paid parking close by for easy access. I'd highly recommend for people looking for good quality at comparative prices.

Great quality and range of locally grown and produced products. I love having an early morning breakfast at the markets and shopping for my weekly groceries including a few luxury items after. Vendors are more than happy for market goers to taste test.

This is the best market in the country. The freshness and locality of the food is the best I've seen anywhere, where else can you see at least 5 varieties of grapes. There are long established cafe's such as Lucia's, which is an institution to newcomers like Jamface cafe which is the child of tv chef Poh. Where else can you see a Chinese instrument shop? Lunch from a Latvian cafe? This place has everything.

Adelaide's grandest display of food and treats. The whole organic chicken from Vegas Chicken is the freshest to cook Tuesdays and Fridays when they get deliveries. Wish there was more organic produce there. Just one stall but not that affordable and sometimes not that fresh. We love the 40 cent old rides for kids too as makes the trip more fun.

This traditional market sells lots of fresh fruits, vegies, yummy foods and the price is great! The location is good, easy to get a car park or to go there by public transport, e.g. bus, tram.

A lot of business. There is everything to choose from: greengrocers, greengrocers, butchers, spices, bars to sit and eat, etc. It is a business maze. Around 1:30 p.m., fruits and vegetables begin to be auctioned, it is a great opportunity to take advantage of the offers.

....and for KHMER food and the BEST iced coffee that I've ever come across in over countries visited, go to SHOP 56 - LITTLE KHMER KITCHEN.
Run and owned by a delightful young Cambodian lady from SW Cambodia, also features great street food. And it is authentic, I've been to Cambodia 5x.

One thing I really like about these markets, when compared to most others I've been to around the world, and certainly in Australia, is the great mix of quality food outlets and coffee/quality food places. Very nice feeling with these markets, must be on yr itinerary.

Great place to visit. Unfortunately due to being on a tour there was no time to stop and take it all in. Would have been better if we were shown fewer places and given more time to enjoy the market.
