Always a good visit each time we go to Adelaide. Be good to see the finished renovations
Adelaide Central Market is a treasure trove of all things fresh food. There are exotic fruits and veges, Asian staples, good old winter veges perfect for soups, pies and stews and tantalising nuts and sweets. You will find delicious small goods, cheeses, artisan breads, cakes, fresh fish, wonderful meat and pre-prepared meals to go. There's a range of organic and specialist produce for vegos, coeliacs and the astute gourmand. If it's a tea or coffee you want, a hearty breakfast or a salad bowl you will have many quality choices. Lucia's is an institution and has expanded to include a marvelous smallgoods larder. But you will find such a variety of eateries you could pick and choose for months!
It's easy to do a quick shop or wander for hours. You can pay top dollar or wait for the end of trade 'clean em up' special prices. Oodles of parking on-site and bus and tram close by. One visit to Adelaide Central Market will have you hooked for life.
Don't miss this. Take a big bag and fill up with fresh goodies, never mind the free tastings!!
Used to work in the markets and go there every week for brekkie and a shop! An excellent, unique place to go and a must see for anyone visiting Adelaide.
Great place to go for a wide range of fresh produce and delicious foods!
Would recommend going early Saturday afternoon before the stall close to get great deals!
Very nice market. Could be a little more cozy but totally worth a visit
One of the best things about living in Adelaide. Whether you want decent ingredients on a budget, or obscure speciality groceries, this place is always useful. Special mention for O'Connell's Meats. Always cheap but I can't beat their quality. Especially if you're after chicken.
Lots of fresh produce & wonderful seafood fresh from S.A. waters @ good prices, also lots of interesting eateries! Something delicious for all tastes!
What a fantastic, eclectic, fun market full of quality products and owner/operators. Being in tourism myself, it is a brilliant place to bring visitors from intrastate, interstate and overseas...I am so proud showing this iconic market place to the world. Cheers Jeff Teague Teague Tours, South Australia
A visit is a must. Fresh produce and a great place to eat.
Lots of variety, great to explore great food court. Cheap fruit n veg
I love market and Adelaide Central Market! We came to wander around, have a look and our had lunch. My favorite part is in fruit section. Smell so refreshing.
Good selection and great prices however the people here keep packing in like rats and don't consider their surroundings. Got back handed in the face by a woman remarking at how big the place was as we walked by (whilst being shoved by a massive dude trying to shove through and seperate my child and myself). Wouldn't return anytime soon and if I did, it would be to the outer stalls.
Variety of raw and cooked food.. it's definitely nice for weekend stock up
Amazing place if your in Adelaide you have to visit!!
Excellent markets. Full of character and atmosphere. Has great places to eat with a wide and varied selection.
The Adelaide central markets are always the best place to get meat or cheese or anything you need. It might be a bit more pricey than going to woolworths however you can't deny that the quality you get is superb.
Adelaide's iconic Central Market is a melting pot of sight, sense, colour, foody's paradise.
Best market in the world because of the quality of produce and variety. You can buy produce and groceries for any cuisine, Asian or European, the choices are endless. Also available is also high end and low end produce to suit all budgets. Here you can buy quality fresh produce at prices much lower than anywhere else.
Various kinds of ingredients are super rich and not too expensive
Fantastic market, love the variety and quality from practically all stallholders. Free parking (1hr) too.
I find great the market but quality price It is more a corner to tourism
Very busy. Could hardly move as it was nearly closing time.
Ordered Special pizza, was served burnt waiter ignored me, fed it to the dog.
A must if you visit Adelaide! It's the thumping heart of the foodies Paradise. China town next door... Fresh produce galore. The cheese....
Have been going there with my parents since I was a little girl. Would recommend to visitors to Adelaide. It's an institution. Still love it with wonderful always fresh fruit and veg as well as good coffee. Great array of meat, fish, chicken, florist plus Asian.
If you're a Foodie you can't skip a visit here, Amazing produce
The buzz and great local produce at market value huge variety of stalls fun place to shop
Freah vegetables and fruits. You can find different culture of stalls and food around
Nice market... Excellent camera store inside, a must visit for any photographers...
Probably THE most enjoyable market I have ever been to. And I've been to a few. There was very little evidence of 'selling out to cheap plastic mass produced stalls. And the paella at the Spanish cafe was a delightful experience!
Haven't been here in years. Very busy noisy crowded. Places to get coffee and sit. Actually air conditioned also. Made it quite pleasant.
One of the places to go in Adelaide. There are also a variety of fruits, fresh food and ready-to-eat rice. Access is easy because it is in the center. And cleanliness (this is important
Lots of fresh fruit, fish, meat and foods. Easy access from everywhere in the city. And it's really important, it's clean.
I really liked the market atmosphere. So much fresh produce and all at great prices. A lot of gourmet stalls and great coffee available too.
A much nicer way to do your grocery shopping that in a supermarket. Also nice just to soak up the atmosphere.
Super busy, but a fun vibe. Lots of eateries inside too and bustling with fruit shops etc.
Certainly the most vibrant, colourful and culturally rich food markets I have ever visited. Bustling, intimately crowded, noisy and eccentric blend of aromas, gourmet offerings and international accents - worth repeated visits.
Huge variety of foods, fruits; fish meats, coffee, teas, vegan options the lot basically !
Excellent fresh produce and a range of stalls to choose from. Great place for Saturday morning breakfast!
Amazing market! So happy to have a place like this is Adelaide. First hour of parking as free as well which is a nice bonus.
