Adelaide Central Market is a treasure trove of all...

Adelaide Central Market is a treasure trove of all things fresh food. There are exotic fruits and veges, Asian staples, good old winter veges perfect for soups, pies and stews and tantalising nuts and sweets. You will find delicious small goods, cheeses, artisan breads, cakes, fresh fish, wonderful meat and pre-prepared meals to go. There's a range of organic and specialist produce for vegos, coeliacs and the astute gourmand. If it's a tea or coffee you want, a hearty breakfast or a salad bowl you will have many quality choices. Lucia's is an institution and has expanded to include a marvelous smallgoods larder. But you will find such a variety of eateries you could pick and choose for months!
It's easy to do a quick shop or wander for hours. You can pay top dollar or wait for the end of trade 'clean em up' special prices. Oodles of parking on-site and bus and tram close by. One visit to Adelaide Central Market will have you hooked for life.

One of the best things about living in Adelaide. Whether you want decent ingredients on a budget, or obscure speciality groceries, this place is always useful. Special mention for O'Connell's Meats. Always cheap but I can't beat their quality. Especially if you're after chicken.

What a fantastic, eclectic, fun market full of quality products and owner/operators. Being in tourism myself, it is a brilliant place to bring visitors from intrastate, interstate and overseas...I am so proud showing this iconic market place to the world. Good selection and great prices however the people here keep packing in like rats and don't consider their surroundings. Got back handed in the face by a woman remarking at how big the place was as we walked by (whilst being shoved by a massive dude trying to shove through and seperate my child and myself). Wouldn't return anytime soon and if I did, it would be to the outer stalls.

The Adelaide central markets are always the best place to get meat or cheese or anything you need. It might be a bit more pricey than going to woolworths however you can't deny that the quality you get is superb.

Best market in the world because of the quality of produce and variety. You can buy produce and groceries for any cuisine, Asian or European, the choices are endless. Also available is also high end and low end produce to suit all budgets. Here you can buy quality fresh produce at prices much lower than anywhere else.

Probably THE most enjoyable market I have ever been to. And I've been to a few. There was very little evidence of 'selling out to cheap plastic mass produced stalls. And the paella at the Spanish cafe was a delightful experience!

I really liked the market atmosphere. So much fresh produce and all at great prices. A lot of gourmet stalls and great coffee available too.

A much nicer way to do your grocery shopping that in a supermarket. Also nice just to soak up the atmosphere.

Certainly the most vibrant, colourful and culturally rich food markets I have ever visited. Bustling, intimately crowded, noisy and eccentric blend of aromas, gourmet offerings and international accents - worth repeated visits.
