Have been to the markets every time I've been back to Adelaide these last three years & it always brings me great pleasure to see the eclectic range of stalls, smell the aromas of great food and produce, grab a bite to eat, buy up on mettwurst, cheese, breads, cakes etc etc and generally indulge in something that is totally unavailable in Sydney. It must be said, and this is not to diminish how great it is here, that there is a price to pay for visiting the markets. Parking isn't cheap, you can pay a premium for some produce, & some of the better stalls are no longer there (for example the Russian pirogi shop seems to have gone). However even with these issues it's still one of my favourite 2-3 places to visit in Adelaide, and I would certainly visit repeatedly if I lived there.Definitely a place to see and will return when next in town

Funky vibes, amazingly fresh produce and a couple of great brunch spots here. Plenty of parking within the complex as well. Great spot for purchasing coffee from around the world in here also. Worth a look around if you are visiting or live in the area!

Lots of small food stalls full of fresh produce, meats, baked goods and many many more. Decent parking facilities at a decent price. Good spot for a visit, shop and to go out to nearby restaurants for a feed.

My first job ever was at a little kiosk run by my aunt inside Adelaide s Central Market, in the Chinatown area. Technically it wasn t really a job as I was helping out my cousins and it was before school starts. But it was an eye opener for me. Gave me new perspective to work.

Great produce, great market, with a wide array of foods from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds. Some of the stores are very artisan.
The market tours (don't opt for the breakfast or lunch option - choose your own after) are really enjoyable and good value giving you some insight into the market and it's relatively young history.

Always love going to the Central Market, late week is best as some of the vendors are closed during the week. Check the website for more details. If you are after a great coffee or some beans for home look for the "Perfect Cup" they have a great selection of coffee beans and tea's. My personal pick is Supa Crema, but if I could afford it Hawaii Kona is all so great.

You can find fresh vegitables here. Even for some type of vegies you see the same price as in stores but it takes edge on freshness. You can also find meat in this place at better price. For onions and patatoes you can choose Indian store where you get more for less price if you take 10kg bags.

Adelaide Central Market is supposed closed on Monday but I guess Asians are too hardworking to leave their stalls closed for two consecutive days. Which is wonderful because we got to visit it, and we got ourselves mini kangaroo soft toys for AUD2.5 each? It's crazy how cute and cheap they are. That's probably my only souvenir from Adelaide but you know it's good enough.

Definitely a must visit whenever you visit Adelaide. It is a local market to get everything in one shop. A lot of fresh produce and great variety of Deli inside. Market is clean and very neat, made easier shopping for customers to go around. Some nice and long standing restaurant as well in the market. Free parking for 1 hour on market trading time.
