Visited the Central Market on a Saturday. Took breakfast at Zuma Cafe, which has a good coffee and breakfast, comprising eggs, mushrooms, and bacon. A lot of fresh market produce, with a number of fruits stores and coffee stalls.

Unique place, no other Australian city has market located in the very centre of the City. Good selection of stalls, local produce and plenty of places to eat. Any future alterations or developments should be carefully planned as they may destroy the uniqueness of this place.

We went there just after it had opened on Saturday in November. It is a really lovely market with lots of produce to choose from. We got fantastic breads, cheeses, fruits and cooked meat for our lunch.
Also plenty cafes to sit down.
It is located in the city really easy to find.

Wide ranging fruits and fresh produce. It says open at 7 but less than half of the he stalls were opened at 9am. Not sure if this is because it's on a Monday. Only ground floor has stores, upper levels are just carparks, no need to go up. Cafes and coffees are Available too adjunct to a small mall.

Great source of fresh food. There s heaps of veg and fruit stalls, including organic and a stall that has lots of spray free produce. Also lots of local eggs, cheese and meets etc. There s also some health food stores that sell a great selection of alternative foods.

Lively place for shopping and hanging out! You can find anything from fresh fruit to bakery, cheese and meat. There are a lot of places inside the market or nearby to eat or grab a snack including two food courts!

Just great. Fresher than you can get anywhere else and cheaper than ALDI. Supporting local SA employees and businesses too. Win!

Open early on sat morning so you can nip in on the 1hr free spaces and be out before it gets super busy. I should have started doing this ages ago.

LOVE this place! Literally has everything: Stalls with fresh cheese, produce, chocolates etc. has a bakery, butchers and a fish mongers, Coles, asian supermarkets, food court and if you walk through Central Markets from Coles side to the other side the street is just LINED with restaurants of every kind available - Asian food, steak houses, sushi restaurants, desert and ice creams, pretty much everything! Central Market also has stalls which are constantly promoting their wares via free taste - testing etc. for you to sample and try on passing. Always a fun day out just to go exploring either by yourself or with other/s to get actual shopping and to tantalize your taste buds with whatever is on offer!

The Adelaide Central Markets is a cultural icon in Adelaide and a must-visit for any tourist or local within the area. The space can be very crowded during peak times, but it's always a vibrant community of people offering local goods.

If you're shopping for produce - go on a Saturday, where all produce is cheap to account for the Sun-Mon closure.

If you're looking for something to eat - go on a weekday when the market is significantly less crowded and you can find a space to eat.

Compare the food quality and prices at the market with some European deli, the market is become tooooo expensive.
It feels a lot more like a fashion
Place to shop, to be seen there

It's a shame all is commercialised and numbered

Still a nice place too look and carefully check on prices before you buy anything!!

That's my advise

An excellent city market, whilst not to the scale of it's Melbourne and Sydney equivalents, makes up for size in the quality of outlets - there are no weak traders here letting the reputation down. It's simply brilliant.

Highly recommended! Coming over from Victoria and having been to pretty much all the major markets in Melbourne from QVM to SMM, I really feel like the freshness, quality and the prices are exceptional. Initially I didn't think it's worth visiting with the mentality of it being similar to the other ones but I'm glad we checked it out. There is a food court adjacent to the main hall that had lots of Asian food outlets which also looked VERY good. Didn't try anything but it was absolutely packed. Overall I would say ACM is a must visit even if you frequent other markets in your own town/city. Check out some of the pics... BTW if you are looking for GREAT coffee check out Lucias, I had a large coffee at almost every outlet in the market and that was the best!

Great energetic vibe. Prices are pretty good too if you shop around. Also can snag some bargains if you wait to the end of the day when vendors are trying to get rid of fresh produce. A couple cafes located in the markets to grab a bite to eat. Large variety of stalls: butchers, fish mongers, green grocers, coffee bean stall, old style lolly stall, baked goods, delicatessen etc. Also located next to China Town so you can walk from the markets to China Town if interested in exploring that part of Adelaide.

So much fresh fruit and vegetables to pick from! Support local and get yourself a bargain at the Central Market. Wide variety of dine in and takeaway food, as well as unique flavours from across the globe.

No matter where you've come from its absolutely a must to visit.
