Great deals and most importantly fresh products. They have a range of different produce and if u ever get too tired walking around, there s heaps of cafes, juice bars, little exotic restaurants and even oyster bars. Great way to spend your weekend and to just get your everyday produce there.

Perhaps the heart of Adelaide's food culture, the Central Markets are a sensory extravaganza in the best possible way. You will encounter a variety of fragrances while navigating through the laneways, trying to avoid bumping into people while you find yourself gazing at yet another stall filled with delicacies. In your ears you will hear shopkeepers yelling their daily specials, and you will also find plenty of places to take a seat, enjoy a coffee and take five.

Remember to talk with your vendor, they're super friendly and full of interesting and useful information to help you get the most out of your experience such as cooking methods and recipe ideas.

Fantastic grocery, meats and goods available from numerous stalls. Some can be more expensive than normal stores such as woolies but there is often a bit more variety and better selection. It's like tinder but has absolutely nothing to do with tinder
To note:
There are stalls that sell all types of cheese, which is ideal for cooks, wine buffs or one thousand mice in a trenchcoat
There is a stall called wild things which serves game meats, there is a distinct lack of emu meat which disappoints me; as a veteran of the emu war I wish to relish in the satisfaction of feasting on the corpses of my foes
There are sometimes stalls for books. I am not sure why these are here as the books they serve are often very old and hard to cook.

Oh my gosh I love this place. Been coming here for years and always make time to come back when I'm in town. Sadly some favourite vendors have moved on, but it has and always will be a fantastic place for cheese, bread, meats and fresh produce. The atmosphere is unlike anything else I've experienced around Australia and well worth the time to check out.

Totally unexpected in central Adelaide. Mostly fresh food but enough cafe or takeaway to keep you happy and going. Wide variety of local produce and many things you wouldn't expect to find elsewhere.

Always been a massive fan of the markets. How could you not be if you love your food. Especially fresh, local produce. It's a great experience for young and old. Some of my best memories are going to the markets with my eldest daughter when she was just an infant, pushing her in her stroller, she loved the smells and buzz of the markets. I love everything about the markets
