Very personable and helpful staff, and they did a fine job!

My kitchen cabinets now look great! It's amazing what a difference a new coat of paint makes.
The price was very competitive. They did an excellent job; very professional. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Action Interior.

I would highly recommend staying away from Action interiors as many competitors have similar positive reviews. We based out choice on that and the estimated time of completion. The work completed, after much trial and error was good but (15 days over schedule). The communication and their business manners were abysmal, not showing up on days we confirmed resulting in lost wages (and cancelled appointments with other trades) to which they did not attempt to help solve until the following day. They did not respond to subsequent emails or answer phone calls.

The tiling work done initially was extremely poor (see attached pictures) and when asked why they said our walls were uneven and that this was normal. They then attempted to fix some of the areas and grouted. When we communicated to them that the grout and finishing work was unacceptable, we were told that they had fixed up worse in the past.

The grout had no finishing work and behind the stove and under the counter, they neglected to complete tiling. We had to bring in a separate tiling consultant to communicate how shoddy the work was, which resulted in them having to remove their work and start over, to which they wanted us to pay for extra labour and supplies. Throughout their work, they would leave off cuts all over the deck, boxes of destroyed tile for us to throw out and neglected to sweep up after themselves.

In the end, the cupboards and the countertops looked good, and the work by a few of the individuals was lovely. Many were very polite and hard working. I say this with a significant caveat. Suzanne failed to inform me they had to reschedule one day leaving us with no plumber; she made no effort to help us figure this out. Every step of the way she treated us like children, not allowing us any say in hardware or fixtures our tap does not turn entirely onto cold because the fixture picked hits the wall.

I understand mistakes happen, and communication can break down from time to time, but this was continual disappointment after disappointment. We had to fight to get the work to a professional level. Going with Action Interior was a major mistake.

I am so happy with action interiors. We got our kitchen cabinets refinished and the results are absolutely beautiful. Suzanne was great to deal with and was on top of everything. They were prompt, professional and delivered when promised. Highly recommend them to anyone doing renovations.

From start to finish the Action Interior Cabinet Refinishing & Renovating kept us fully informed and up-to-date as the work progressed. They helped us plan the remodeling of our kitchen, made helpful suggestions and even sent us drawings that took our ideas and turned the them from conceptional to real. The various trades that did the work were professional, always on time, worked without supervision and they cleaned up before leaving.
We are very pleased with the work, we love our new kitchen and highly recommend the excellent Action Interior team.

Action was everything we had hoped for, they were our one stop shop helping us with our kitchen renovation. Suzanne was prompt and helpful with us in deciding colours, countertop and backsplash with great recommendations along the way. We were so impressed with the results that we are having them back to do our bathrooms!

If you want to avoid headaches and prefer to work with a decent company that deals with deficiencies promptly and professionally, avoid Action Interior. I have worked with many other contractors and trades, and the majority have dealt with any large deficiencies in a reasonable way, and I can usually deal with minor items myself. Action Interior is the second worst company I have dealt with.

After reading some of the other bad reviews on Action Interior, I see that those other customers had similar issues, especially with their behaviour and attitude.

A list of all their mistakes and deficiencies:

- Used the wrong color paint (gray white) on the cabinet frames versus the cabinet doors (yellow white) and tried to tell me that it was just my eyes, or that it was already the best match possible. They eventually admitted to using the wrong color, after I had other people and painters confirm my assessment and much arm twisting.
- Forgot to transport some cabinet drawers to their spray shop on multiple occasions, and tried to brush on a different type of paint to avoid extra trips to their spray shop
- Spray painted metal hinges, with wrong color, that failed within the first day of reinstalling them, because they did not properly prepare and prime. They could not admit that they might have made errors in preparing/priming.
- Extremely poor workmanship on mill work because Randy forgot to bring his putty and power sander, and had a hard time cutting straight lines on his power saw, and he did not want to make a second trip to get the proper tools. Left 3 mm gaps in some of the panels, other areas were not flush. Eventually they fixed after making a second trip with the proper equipment.
- Used the wrong sized screws when replacing the hinges, screwing too deep into the wood of the cabinet doors. Suzanne dismissed this as a trivial detail by saying, "screws, really?"
- Made many errors on timing of when they would arrive.

Some more examples of their behaviour and attitude:

When I told them that the paint on the hinges was failing, they replied that they checked with their painter and that they never had this problem before. I had other metal hinges of the exact same type, vintage and wear and tear, and those were primed and painted over a year ago with no problems. I also had other professional painters in my house doing the walls and they told me my metal hinges could be painted properly.

One month after they returned the hinges, the paint is still coming off when I apply a bit of light pressure with my fingers. This is a significant issue in a kitchen cabinet/food handling environment. I decided to replace most of the old hinges with some new custom ordered hinges, and properly prepare and repaint some of the old hinges myself, where it was necessary.

On Randy's second visit to the place, I informed him twice that some of the removable drawers did not have matching paint to the other sprayed drawers (because they forgot to take them to the spray shop). He insisted that he sprayed them. I had to yell at him to take a look with his own eyes, at which point he realized his error. The obvious solution would have been to take those drawers to the spray shop, but he decided to attempt to brush on the non-oil paint to save a trip. Needless to say, that did not match the other spray-painted drawers. I had to deliver those drawers to their spray shop myself at a later date.

If you are a home owner or general contractor and decide to use Action Interior, make sure you carefully check all their work for deficiencies and assess their explanations with a high degree of skepticism, and make sure you read all the bad reviews on google or houzz for details of what you can expect. Also, do not make final payment until you have allowed sufficient time to see if the paint has held or failed, and that all deficiencies were properly fixed.

My kitchen cabinets look great! I am so pleased with the quality of the refinish! I would definitely recommend Action Interiors. Highly professional and a pleasure to work with!

I found Action to be extremely professional and responsive and the quality of work was great. Action Interiors did a fantastic job at our clients home in north Vancouver. This dated gourmet kitchen was updated with all new countertops, cabinetry painted, new lighting, interior painting and all new plumbing finishes. In two weeks the whole job was done. Action Interiors has an excellent team that has experience in all aspects of renovating. Their finishing work for spraying the cabinets was excellent. Recently had our counter-tops, sink & faucet installed by Action Interior and their great team, from measure to install it only took 2 weeks. We are just loving our new marble quartz, now want to do all the bathrooms.

We have used Action Interior on two occasions in two houses. At the start of the process Suzanne provided a prompt estimate for the project. After we accepted the pricing, the process moved quickly and smoothly. The doors were removed and Sam picked out new modern looking handles to replace our dated ones. The on site painting was carefully done over the course of two days. The cabinet doors were installed with the new handles a short time later. We were very impressed with the quality of the work and the professional attitude of the company. Our kitchen looks amazing! The transformation is incredible - an old, dark kitchen is now a modern, fresh looking one in white Chantilly Lace. I worked with Action Interior to remodel my master bathroom and refinish my floor-to-ceiling fireplace. Action was a pleasure to deal with and produced excellent results. They were very responsive, always did their best to accommodate my requests and schedule, and kept me informed of any changes to budgets resulting from deviations from the original plan. I am very pleased with the end result - my master bath, even though small, feels like a spa; and my fireplace is now modern and stylish. I can highly recommend them.
