A must-try speakeasy in the basement of the Armstrong Hotel. Great cocktails pretty good food. Great place to take an intimate date.

Probably my favorite bar in Fort Collins when I want to feel fancy, which is most times. Sam is the best waitress in town, bar none. Excellent quality food and drink. Live jazz is a plus.
This is one of my favorite hangouts, especially when live Jazz is playing. Both the food and drink options are some of the best around.
Came for a wonderful lunch at the Cafe outside under the awning. Great staff, and had a nice tour of the updated lounge area with with Samantha the manager. We'll be back for dinner and (dj spun) music (hope live music isn't too far off).
Cool place, wish there was a place like this where I live...
This is the place to go in Fort Collins for the absolute best cocktails and jazz. Don't miss it. Shout out to our friend and favorite bartender, Ray H. Cheers!
This is a cool bar that is pretty hip with good live jazz playing. They have a wide variety of drinks that are all awesome. The food is top notch and the service is excellent!! A definite must if you are out in Ft. Collins bar hopping or to take a date on. You will not be disappointed.
Great food, friendly service, reasonably priced. Was looking for a casual place for a meal and some live music while visiting Fort Collins on business, and this place fit the bill.
If you want a mellow night out with live jazz good wine and tasty appetizers I would recommend this place. Reasonable prices are an added bonus.
a very comfortable yet high quality jazz bar and restaurant, with top musical talent on a very consistent basis.
Great service and atmosphere. My waitress was amazing, suggested a perfect sweet drink, One Eyed Joe. Delicious. Definitely going back
Great renovation! Lots of space for COVID distancing. They were packed. Check out their new menu! We were fairly regular customers before they renovated. First time back was tonight. New drink menu is creative and forgiving (they will refund drinks if you don't like it). Staff very friendly. Only down side: kinda spendy.
We had the lunch special A Hamburger and a Beer. OMG the best Burger I have ever had really the flavor of the meat was incredible I wished I lived close I could go once a week . It came with a side I chose the tots everyone else had the salad it was a great deal all for less than $10. Did I mentioned the flavor of that Burger OMG
Best cocktails in town. My go-to bar for great food, great music and the best bartenders in town.
Amazing food, and fantastic service!! Defiantly coming back!
Very well kept and clean it is always a great and amazing experience. They have been closed due to renovations. Which didn't need them because it was amazing the way it was.
My absolute favorite place in town. 2-3 drinks price range kind of place, but you'll be here for a couple hours and when they've got music, no other place I'd rather be.
I love coming here. The atmosphere is great with a speakeasy vibe. The bartenders are truly top notch. The service is always cordial. Every menu item I've eaten has been very tasty and a pretty good value. The happy hour is a great deal.
Did I mention the jazz. The have pretty great jazz.
Very good music and the tapas are awesome, but if you are a serious jazzophile don't sit in the back room. Too noisy for music listening. Stand up in the main room or go to The Bistro around the corner.
Great drinks and atmosphere. Highly recommend! Can t wait to come back.
Beautiful fun place with the best bar and upscale atmosphere in town. Ray is the most professional bartender/manager. You'll love the experience and the attentive service. Impeccable martini creations with 5 star food. Order the Ruby Soho...signature martini. No regrets!!
Food and drinks were great. It was very loud; I couldn't even speak with the person at my table. Tables were so close together it was inconveniencing to the other patrons if you wanted to get up or sit down at your table.
Always a favorite! Classy ambiance, great music, cultured cocktails and great staff! Samantha is wonderful! I have even hosted events here...and they were a hit!
Everything about this spot is good. Take the street stairs down and come back to the ol' school good times and vibes
Live music is cool. The attitude of the patrons isn't. Bartenders and servers are great
Would not recommend for the food. The atmosphere is nice and didn't stay long enough for the jazz but would recommend just going there after dinner for drinks and music.
Execution and plating of food we had was off and overall mediocre for the price. Tries to be fancy but hits the mark. The Brussels had a weird flavor combo and the duck confit was a giant bowl of polenta with a few pieces of chewy duck scraps on top. Definitely would not call that duck confit Other food was just ok.
Jake (bartender) was phenomenal. He gave us a run down of the city. Pointers on where to go and ended up being great peaceful night. Hats off to him as an employee to Ace gillett's Lounge I never would have known about this place without him. Jake's manager was and also great mixologist that gave us an excellent experience. Highly recommend this Lounge for anybody in the area that wants to experience of live music and a great experience!!!
This place is awesome, the atmosphere is great. Great drink selection including great options for non alcoholic. I was in tonight and had the pleasure of dining with Samantha and she was top notch. Definitely will be back.
A really cool spot in old Town Ft Collins for jazz and drinks. Has a nice, old school bar feel with wonderful music and friendly staff. I was actually impressed with wine choices. Most bars dont make an effort.
Good mixed drinks and atmosphere. Small menu if you're looking for food.
It feels a little less classy since the remodel but it's still a great jazz bar, but if you loved the nice white decor then you may be dissapointed. Still my favorite jazz bar in towm though.
This place was great. The cocktails were perfect, the food was original, fresh, and tasty. The vibes were low key, classy, and comfortable. Perfect date night. I would have paid a lot more than I did to eat this food. It was better than some of the higher prices joints in town, with a similar menu. Highly recommend.
Great atmosphere and service. It was akin to stepping back in time. Decor was wonderful, and staff was all very attentive. Will definitely return.
Love the atmosphere. Love the drinks. Love the music. The staff is friendly but slow. Waited a long time for drinks and to be seated. Not sure if this is because of covid though
Ace is the one place I always go when I am in Fort Collins. They have the best staff, and the best drinks, in all of FoCo.
An absolutely fabulous place. Great food, wonderful cocktails, and the best staff I have ever interacted with. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
Went for a Saturday evening cocktail and app. The bartenders were lively, and looked like they were having fun which I LOVE! I had the prosciutto arugula Flatbread, and was actually impressed with the taste which is a rare occurrence for me. Simple ingredients, good taste, sweet staff! Will be back.
This place is a hidden gem in Fort Collins! I highly recommend it!
Ace is by far my favorite place in town. Aside from the best live jazz in Fort Collins, what defines Ace is the excellent tapas menu with some of the best ingredients, a very friendly staff, and amazing bartenders. The staff seems to love what they do and in my opinion consistently deserve generous tips. The best night for music is Sunday when the crowd is not as big.
One of the best places in town. Amazing drinks, fantastic food, and a wonderful atmosphere. The staff is always friendly and attentive, even when the place is packed. And cannot forget about the live music almost every night.
Unfortunately, this place has gone down hill. Super sad about really. They just reopened a few weeks ago (early March 2020) and it's clear they have a new business plan. The drink menu is about 1/3 the size it used to be. There are fewer seats (we estimated about 20 less) so waiting is almost guaranteed. The music is all DJ based now until the band comes on. To loud and the speakers just don't sound great in a low ceiling basement setting. After we waited for 40 minutes we were seated....to only wait another 20 minutes for our drinks to come. Actually, after 20 minutes we got up and left. Never even saw our drinks. What wsa once the best place in Fort Collins has now become something else. We are super sad and probably won't be back.
Don't talk to any single ladies in the establishment. They miqht be the bartenders, Rays, sister. In that case you will kick you out... we didn't want any problems and tried to leave, but before we could we were approached by cops with false accusations. I really wish they would use cameras to prove things. Either way, I am really dissapointed with the place. I will never go their or recommend this place.... I can't even find them on the Better Business Bureau... I wonder why?
Classy place with lovely music. It is a great place to socialize and drink. They have a menu with food to couple with your drinks and have water and coffee for those that don't; regardless servers were very friendly.
Great live jazz music plays in the background, friendly staff, great food selection and excellent service. I'd come back again
Still one of my fave places in town. Great atmosphere. Great music. More sophisticated, urban, adult than most of casual Fort Collins.
Decent food. Amazing atmosphere and great service :)
I've been to Ace Gillett's many times. Four of those have been batchelor parties and the most recent was my batchelor party. Every time I come I am reminded as tp why this is my favorite bar in the city. The drinks are top class, the service great, and the atmosphere is the cherry on top.
I love me some jazz, and I love me some whiskey. This place gives me both at the same time. Couldn't reccomend this place more.
Great place to meet with friends and the live jazz is a great reason to go by itself.
Definetly a good place to go for a prosecco and listen to jazz, while noshing on some tapas. Don't expect quiet for conversation...go for whole mood environment with stimuli. ;)
I've never been here and NOT seen a lady in a sparkly dress.
Codys the man. Rays drinks are legend. Jazz music. Game, set, match.
Our entire party had a wonderful time! It was louder than expected, but we were fortunate to be near the door. Our server, Samantha G, was terrific and added to a great experience! The food was delicious and we'll be back for sure.
The remodel is nice. Not going to lie, I missed the old Ace Gillette's but the new vibe is still very nice. Excellent drinks, good food, and top-notch service.
This is our favorite spot in town to sit and enjoy a cocktail while listening to live music! The atmosphere is classy, the service is fantastic, and the drinks are made to perfection! When you live in a college town as a 30 something professional you appreciate the upscale patrons you find at this place. My favorite drink is the Ruby Soho and their brownie dessert!

Came here with a large group and only part of our group was allowed to be seated. The host help several members of our party at the door, claiming they were at capacity. The bar was not crowded and there were ample empty seats.
1st time there. A very classy club with great, friendly staff. Very affordable beer, wine and mixed drinks. The jazz music compliments the laid back atmosphere of this club. Ben Markley's Trio was the icing on the cake, with tunes that fit perfectly with the unique mood of this club. Highly recommended!
Very loud, very full. But the drinks were good and the wait staff was friendly.
If you like jazz and amazing cocktails this is the place to be. The bartenders here know their stuff.
We sat at the bar and were completely entertained by the music but Especially the bar tender! This will be the place we return to again and again when we want to add some sophistication to our evening.
I used to like this place for the quality of their drinks and food. However my last experience there, having not been in a few months, was extremely disappointing. The drinks were poorly made and we're very very weak. The fries were overcooked as well. The service is still great, but that's not the reason I go there.
Live jazz music, very good service. Drinks are perfect with reasonable price. The lady who is working there is very professional and she was taking care of our table very well. Food menu is not long but they are all tasty. I love this place.
This place used to be awesome, now the staff acts like they could care less...sad
Update April 2019:
New ownership has increased prices, changed both menus, and decreased operating hours.
That's not to say this isn't still a fine establishment with quality food, drinks, music, and service. The staff is still high caliber, friendly, and professional. Tip well. Sad the Ace Gillett's I once knew is no more. I knew it could not last.
Original (2017):
This establishment is a once in a lifetime kind of place. The drink menu is updated regularly. The musicians are the finest of folk. The glassware is to be appreciated like fine art, and the drinks are exquisite craft. The food is Michelin quality. The staff put their souls into every drink. Tip well. Enjoy your time here because you may never come across a place like this again.
This was our premier destination for my birthday celebration -- the service was amazing, the food and cocktails were wonderful, but the entire experience was disappointing because of the noise level. Where we were sitting (in the dining room), not only could we not hear the music, we couldn't hear each other well enough to have any conversation. After yelling at each other for about 2 hours, we decided to leave and go elsewhere.
Additional disappointment: right after being seated, the hostess spilled a glass of water in my friend's lap, and made no amends. I was a little embarrassed at that point to have chosen to invite my guests to this place. Thankfully our server was awesome and we didn't dwell on the hostess' poor treatment of my friend.
Bottom line: Although the food was incredible and the service was wonderful, I probably will not be hosting future parties here. I might try sitting at the bar to enjoy a drink (the cocktails are delicious!) and to see if the atmosphere on that side of the establishment is any better.
Stop in and have a cocktail with Taylor. We shared our favorite flavors and he served up a drink with Mint as a final touch. YUMM! See Shaun spinning vinal from a nice collection of music to choose from. Aces Gillette's is definitely on a must see list. You won't be disappointed
Great upscale experience and a very good value for what you get.
Great music, great drinks. The bartenders are knowledgeable and friendly, and they always seem to have good live music.
So, so, so very loud. I'm a concert-goer 30-something but if you're on OpenTable and have a dinner menu you shouldn't make your customers wait for a song break to squeeze in some dialogue. It was kinda confusing as it seemed like we were the only ones there trying to treat it as a restaurant. Making a reservation and showing up to a bar atmosphere was uncomfortable. Either way is cool but I wish it were clearer. The server was entirely absent, which didn't help. Food was fine and the drinks were really good. My experience may have been unique and my visit was five months before this review so it's time for me to revisit, I guess. This time with no reservation and just for drinks.
I've had the best drinks made here (tasty and strong, seriously the bartenders know what they are doing with their cocktails)! This lovely and fancy bar is beautifully decorated and a wonderful place to go on a date or with your good friends. They have great musicians play jazz music on the weekends which really gives the place a special warmth to it. Most importantly they have the best staff who know how to take care of their customers and do even the tiniest things to let you have a wonderful evening there, like making sure your water glass is always full. Hands down this is one of the best bar I've ever been to and I've travelled around the world!
Excellent jazz, delicious desserts, and wonderful atmosphere. Only drawback; a lil loud and crazy on weekends
Food and environment was awesome! We went at 5pm which was happy hour! Our waitress HOLLIE was absolutely fantastic!!! Knowledgeable and quick. We never had to hunt her down. She is literally the best waitress we have had in a very long time!!!
