Pretty fast in and out visit to the clinic. Nice staff.
I couldn't be happier with them.i am always glad to help them keep the animals safe.
Loved seeing the dogs outside in the play area. The staff was really nice and friendly.
Because the staff members really care about the animals and the people that getting them
Wonderful facility that does its best. Bad part, they adopt to just about anyone! I see too many dogs adopted from here getting abused and killed. Definitely should do more intensive checks on people they adopt to. Reasonable prices.
A little slow at response can not get them on the phone
I called THESE people because they was a very injured animals on the side of the road that looked like it s been beaten up! And they promised to come 3 times! Never even came around for the animal and I will keep reporting them because that s very wrong! Disrespectful Employees!!!!! Don t go there or call them! They won t answer!
Please do not surrender your pets or any animal you found here. Try to take them to no kill rescue shelters. Because of funding, space and other issues dogs are frequently timestamped and euthanized. Also, dogs are coming down with the contagious URI in this shelter.
Atleast do this one thing for your pet or the stray before you let them go so that they get a second chance and they live.
2 stars is for the friendly staff and dedicated volunteers.
They have a TNR program here that allows you to bring in stray cats to be neutered or spayed and given general care
It smelled very bad and the cats/kittens looked sick. The dogs smelled like pee the service was crappy if I could give zero stars I would. I was waiting about an hour just to hold a kitten smh
This has to be the worst place to call if an animal is abandoned and need help. The lady on the phone isn't helpful at all. I've been waiting 3 hours (still waiting) just for someone to come get this malnourished pit bull puppy that can barely stand up off porch. At least if your busy you can call and give an update on where they are but nope nothing. You're better off dropping the animal off yourself.
It was only my 2nd time there, but the staff was great. I had found a baby squirrel in my yard and as I was looking for wildlife rescues and AcctPhilly also came up. It was the closest rescue to me and I knew how to get there. When I called they said bring it right here. I was also told it was the 3rd baby squirrel to come in that day. They seem to be on top of things and know what they are doing. I had a very good visit there!
I found a dog in my neighborhood that was just roaming the streets. I brought him up here and they took him straight away
Kind staff, lots of volunteers and tons of pups and kitties up for adoption! Go visit!
The place should have better quality but it is not like that. Since the place where the dogs are can smell the bad smell, they should give a better care to the area.
Stinks as expected but you can see that the staff takes good care of the animals. I get depressed when I go in there though
This place was given bad reviews and I was skeptical about taking my animals here. They were extremely nice and patient with my 2 dogs. My babies don't like too many people, but they liked the young lady helping us. I would recommend getting pets from this place.
The staff was very courteous and informative there was one time and quick I really enjoyed my visit and my new cat
Would had given 5 stars .. Service was great . employees were great. Im just upset that I adopted a kitty with matted fur so bad she had lumps in her skin. From the hair knots. I spent over $60 In grooming equipment & eneded up having to shave her .. If only one of the professionals had just combed her out all the hassle & fuss from cat could had been avoided.. Anyway Gracy Cat is better & loves her new home
It's under remodeling construction, signs were confusing as I enter the building there was this this guy who approached me (my dog was hit by a car an died) I was very emotional he was very caring towards me. He suggested that I go to paws because of my situation.
Only because of this gentleman I will give them 3 stara
Got my cats from there. They are so sweet and helpful
The staff does not seen interested in getting the animals adopted.
Oh the smell... It's still in my nose, three days later... But it was worth it...
Save a life! Adopt your dog here!!! This shelter is forced to put down over 2,000 dogs a year. Help them out and adopt
Very helpful in trying to help me find my missing dog.
What day do for Animals is Simply Amazing! Also they have ways for people to keep their pets! You can get information for free food as well as care for your animals!
Nice selection of dogs and cats there trying there best
Employees are friendly + helpful. However the place could use a cleaning.
Due to covid we could not get in without appointment.
This place is a great, affordable place to get a dog. They microchip and vaccinate their animals, on top of spaying/neutering pets. The facility provides an emergency care kit for pets as well. If I get another pet, it will likely be from ACCT.
They take all animals. They also ask for a donation. Once I brought a guinea pig in that I couldnt keep, at first they refused it but when I told them ok then I'll just let it go free, they stopped me and excepted it without the donation.
ACCT was very busy thus morning. We weren't able to be helped this morning.
Very friendly staff. Picked up loaner traps to trap two stay cats we will be bringing in after getting fixed and cleaned up. Ally was really helpful with showing us how to use the traps. Thank you!
There customer service is great. We got a beautiful medium sized pitbull terrier. She is so sweet and well behaved. The dogs may look rough but once you get them home feed them properly and give them a bath they will shine. Plus they were cheap. I mean cheap we got our dog for 25 dollars! She is 30 pounds. They are worth every dollar. Adopt your dog today its worth it! The philly registration cost is like 17 dollars! Military discount.... Get your dog here and train them to be your service dog. They will do anything for love amd treats.
Very overwhelming with animals..they are always knowledgeable and helpful..best to visit in person
I been calling them for a month to a problem with a 2 barking dog, next to my house and never came, is a shame shame they work for free. I hope the new philadelphia representative can fixed philadelphia, and all ripped off
Horribly unprofessional and rude adoption staff. Just prepare yourself before you visit if you re planning on adopting a pet here.
I honestly never leave reviews but I feel this is necessary so that maybe the staff can get proper training and the dogs will have an increased chance of getting adopted faster and to better homes.
I just moved into a very dog friendly apartment complex and came today with full intention to adopt a dog. Let me walk you through the experience.
We walked through an office to see the dogs available. We started talking with a very friendly and helpful dog walker/ care giver about what we were looking for. We mentioned that we were looking for a non pitbull because our apartment complex did not allow it. She said it would be tricky but there were a few not listed as pit bulls including a Great Dane mix and a bull dog and then asked if we d like to talk to an adoption counselor. She showed us back into the office where a nasty blonde girl commanded us to fill out an application and wait in the hallway to be called( there was no one else in the office or waiting and there were 4 adoption counselors doing nothing in the office). So I filled out the application and brought it into the office where there girls were still doing nothing. And she said to go back and wait in the hall way in the rudest way possible. When they finally called us in they didn t look over our application at all just took my ID. I asked if there were any dog friendly dogs and she said no that they don t have any friendly dogs but to go take a look at the dogs again to pick one to meet with.
So we went back and looked around and found a cute English bulldog that we wanted to meet. The caregiver also showed us that there was in fact a list of dog friendly dogs on a white board. So we went back to the office to ask to see the bulldog and another Great Dane mix. The counselor said that there was a problem with my application - that because I live in an apartment complex they d need to know if there were any breed restrictions - I said yes pit bulls are not permitted and she stopped me there and told me that they don t have any dogs that aren t pit mixes and that she can t allow me to adopt a dog. I told her that there were dogs that weren t pit mixes and she argued with me and told me there was not.. at that point I was so frustrated I got up and left. These two dogs were NOT pit bulls. Yes, most at the shelter are, but these were not and did not have pitbull listed on their documentation or even look like pit bulls.
I wasn t going to spend another minute arguing with a woman who clearly didn t care about the animals or the organization in anyway shape or form. I honestly can t even comprehend the rudeness.
Please hire some better staff!!
I adopted two awesome furry friends from ACCT. They are a great addition to our home!
We work hard so you don't have to.always thinking of the animals walfare.good people
The wait time is usually very long..staff not nice all the time
Very professional and caring during our parting ways with our beloved cane corso.after 11 years he was starting to suffer, they helped us very much.thank good for people like this
Called about 12pm because there was a squirrle in my living room. The lady said someone will be out shortly. Called again around 2pm, the lady said someone should be there soon. 9pm came around and NOBODY showed up to remove the squirrel in my living room. I live in an apartment so my main door leads to a hallway and I have animals that could ve been harmed. I had to miss work because I was waiting around for someone to show up but never did, so I had to pay almost $600 to have the squirrel removed. WHO HIRED THESE PEOPLE.
Kinda sad environment... but the people there seem to care about the animals they take care of.
We dropped of our sweet neighborhood stray off a few days ago to be spayed. She appeared back on our block yesterday in good shape (with a shaved belly). This is a great service that they provide for free.
Poor poor poor serve keep away from this place, dog are sick ,I know i have want .
Lol just be ready for the smell of animals and watch where you step outside
They were very helpful in my inquiries regarding my lost pup
Great place to get animals from. The 2 dogs (the orange one Buster is really a dog trapped in a cats body. He actually comes when I call him and greats me happily at the door everyday. Never seen a cat do that before) and cat I've gotten from here. Ginger(the cat) had some issues when we 1st got him (stemming
from the previous owners) but they were diligent and informed/gave me the meds he needed to take to get better. Lucy is an amazing dog and very well trained. When we met her you would have thought we knew her since birth. Process is fairly easy and they do give you information regarding the pet transition.
When walking into the acct they all was nice and Help me find a loving. Invisible cat for my home love my cat. Scarlet
Took a pregnant kitten in .They said they will spay her snd put het right back on street. Kitten is not feral just scared.
I walked into this place over a year ago and within 10 minutes had a pet that was spayed, chipped, and up to date on all shots for $30! The people who work here were great, fast and efficient! One of my best decisions!
Bring all.your dogs and cats, and even ex-spouses to this place. They will take them all.
My first time going to this place, the people are so nice and they don't discriminate people in wheelchairs! They treated me and my daughter with respect by finding the right kitten for us. Can't wait to get our furry friend soon!
Staff is really helpful, the cages were clean. Dogs had food, water and beds. There are alot in this shelter and it's quite an upsetting experience to see the high bbn volume being housed here. Thankful that dogs can have somewhere indoors to stay warm in this frigid cold.
I sincerely wish to thank the vets and staff here who have to be under so much stress dealing with the overwhelming numbers and saving as many as possible. I foster cats from here and (apart from the distance from center city) clinic appointments are very painless.
I'd of course recommend PAWS if surrendering (why would you?), ACCT is not a no-kill shelter.
Licensing dept is nonresponsive. After months of follow-up via email and phone, I never received a license. Thank goodness for the transaction dispute process with PayPal.
Being the ONLY open intake facility in the entire city of Philadelphia I am amazed of the work the staff do.
Anyone that does this work deserves 5 starts regardless
I like ACCT. because they have been there every time I needed them.
Not a good place to go and adopt an animal I recommend the SPCA.
I would love to save an animal im makeing some money to get a dog yesterday i have to give a pitbull mix with a bull dog away to the cops becuase the lady call the cops becuase it was on her pourch so she call the cops
They had lots of adoptable dogs. The majority of them are pitties. The young lady in the office was helping us to find a dog who would get along with our dog. She just brought 3 dogs out. Told us come back next week. Frustrated.
I ll start off by saying that I think it s commendable that this place finds care for nursing kittens. Me and my boyfriend were taking a walk in the park when we came across a litter of kittens by their mom s dead body. We took the kittens home, and we went to pets mart to get them formula and bottles. We were informed by pets mart employees and by internet research how much work was involved in taking care of nursing kittens. We couldn t always be home 24/7 to give them the care they needed at the time. I wanted to find the kittens the care they needed so I did some research, and Acct philly seemed like the best place to take them. I was told that when I brought the kittens to acct that they would go to a foster parent. The day after I brought the kittens there I called to check on the status of them. I was informed that they all went to a foster parent, and the subject of adoption came up for when the kittens weren t nursing anymore. I know that sometimes foster parents don t always keep the animals they foster and if that were the case that I d be interested in adopting two of them. From then on the adoptions coordinator remained in touch with me and the foster mom, and I was told she was interested in giving the cats up for adoption. The last conversation I had with the adoptions coordinator was that everything was in the process of being finalized for me adopting the kittens. She said that I could adopt them once they were neutered and spayed and that the foster mom had requested that I reach out to her on Facebook, and she provided me with her name. I sent the foster parent a friend request and a message explaining who I was and who referred me to her. She initially accepted my friend request but didn t respond to my message, and shortly after I noticed that she blocked me. I emailed the adoptions coordinator and let her know that it looked as though the foster mom blocked me and that I wanted to know whether that meant I was still adopting the kittens or not. I never heard from the adoptions coordinator after that. I understand that the kittens legally belong to the foster parent and that she has every right to not give the kittens up for adoption, and she has the right to choose who she allows to adopt them. Whatever problem the foster mom had with me adopting the kittens isn t my issue. My issue is that I was told the kittens were going to be mine to adopt, and then I was abruptly blocked and not given a response by the adoptions coordinator. For all the adoptions coordinator knew I could have already been out buying things for the kittens. I feel she could have at least responded by letting me know that the foster parent decided to go in a different direction and an apology for any inconvenience this may have caused me. I m happy acct philly found the kittens the care they needed. I hope the foster mom ended up keeping them all considering ideally I would rather them not be separated. Maybe I just wasn t meant to adopt the kittens, but regardless I feel that acct philly was blatantly unprofessional towards me, and professionalism towards potential customers is something that they could definitely work to improve.
I tried to adopt a 7 year old Cane Corso whos family had abandoned him in a move and I was told the couldn't adopt him out because he was being too aggressive to recieve a medical exam, but there was a rescue on the way to pick him up. The next day he was euthanized. I have plenty experience with Cane Corso's and they get aggressive when they are scared (like being in a shelter after being abandoned by their family for the last seven years). What right do you have to euthanize a dog when a home was offered for him. What makes you the judge and jury? Don't feed me any B.S. about legal obligations, I would have signed a waiver. ACCT Philly should be ashamed of themselves.
Great program and staff. During Covid-19, doors are locked and you will need to wait in line outside for a staff member to allow you in. Today I brought home a foster kitten named Stella. Fees are extremely reasonable. When adopting, spay/neutering, vaccinations and microchip are included. Highly recommend!
