Rented one of their houses for 12 months and they were great. Aaron was always super responsive whenever we had an issue with anything. 100% recommend if you're looking to rent in Kalamazoo/Portage.
We lost our house in a fire and needed to relocate quickly. It was a very stressful time and Mary our direct contact person helped to make everything happen smoothly. She, as well as the manager are very prompt in responding to questions and we would recommend their company.
My husband Tim has multiple properties managed by Access. He was left scrambling a bit when his prior management company shut its doors. But Access has come through in a big way, thank you Eddie! We had to invest quite a bit of money last year to comply with Grand Rapids rental certifications, yet Eddie and team were able to get the certifications for multiple years instead of a simple one or two year cert. He also showed a willingness to communicate in a manner Tim needed, which is a huge plus since we are not in the GR area and cannot physically see the properties nor the 'good/better/best' options available to us. I rented an apartment from Access Property for two years and they were great. If a problem every occurred it was acknowledged and resolved within a short time frame. Always available for questions and easy to talk to. Had a great experience with them.
They never told me about the cockroach infestation that is currently in the home. They also never mentioned the previous tenants all had to leave from a bed bug infestation.
Access made the daunting task of renting our condo easy and worry free. Excellent communication throughout the entire process and the online portal is effective and convenient.

I highly recommend Access if you need property managers, it was a breeze to work with Aaron and Eddie. They always respond to my emails instantly, like within seconds, and solve all the tenant issues in timely manner. I never used property managers before so I had tons of questions, they were super patient to answer my questions. Aaron also help me look for more properties in Grand Rapids to buy and go see the properties on behalf of me because I don't live in Michigan unfortunately.
Before I heard about all kinds of horror stories about hiring property managers , now I can say it's all about if you can find good ones like Access.
I like my apartment it's perfect for me and my daughter. the only thing is that is very very very cold in the winter. the old landlord was going to send someone to put in a rug, but never got a chance to do it. she said that would make a huge difference.it would be great if the new landlord would approved for your company to lay one out. please bring it to their attention.other than that as of today everything's on point with my apartment. On onther note the neighborhood is REALLY BAD though, to a point where a few times I thought about moving because of the gun shots and everything bad that happens around here but I know you have no control over that.the rent is high for a nieghborhood like that About eddie and Aaron they both adjnacknowl that things happens and they are both there to work something out with you as long as there's communication they are both very nice n respectful they come right away when something isn't working right as of today I do recommend.
Absolutely Fabulous. Access Property Management Group is possibly the best property management agency I've worked with. They are a unique mix professional and personable. There are always helpful and always go the extra mile for us.They also are excellent when it comes to communication. I am a renter and feel like Access really value and watch out for both the renter and the homeowner. They are timely with their maintenance requests and often go above and beyond my expectations. We are blown away by Access and would definitely use them in the future! I'd highly recommend them to anyone !!!

Great communication and streamlined process. We worked with Eddie at APMG to move into our new home. He was prompt and clear with his communication. We were able to see the home, apply, and move nearly immediately. He was flexible and willing to meet us to make our move in happen. They use technology to make the whole process streamlined and simple, and were quick to respond with phone/email with any concerns we had.

Great place to live, close to Western, spacious apartments and never had any problems. Staffing agent, Aaron was wonderful to work with and any questions or concerns were addressed immediately.
The apartment complex was very well managed. Requests for repair work were usually taken care of within a day or so. For example, a poorly performing air conditioner was swapped out the next day during a heat wave. We appreciated the courteous maintenance folks.
My wife and I needed to lease our property and had never done such a thing. We were nervous about engaging a property management company as we had heard that they can be a bit aggressive and less than honorable. THIS HAS NOT BEEN OUR EXPERIENCE WITH ACCESS. They, from the start, acted professionally and knowledgeably regarding the handling of my property. In truth, I had the opportunity to either sell the house or lease it with Access and I chose to lease the place because of the excellent engagement of this company. They are made up of ex-military and their honor and commitment is evident in how they run their business. They screen the candidates and only accept tenants that are well reviewed. I highly recommend this service.

Our family was having financial troubles, so we moved out of our 3-bedroom house and in with family. Our house was worth less than we owed, so we couldn't sell it to get out of the mess.
We hired Access PM Group to rent it out. They put a sign up while we were cleaning and painting, and wthin a week they found me an excellent tenant that keeps the house cleaner than I did! I have a fenced yard and allow pets (for an added fee), so there was demand for this type of rental.
Access PM Group only takes 10% off the top for 11 months of the year, then about half in the month of the annual lease renewal. For this, they handle all advertising, interviews, leasing paperwork, rent collection (through an online portal), conformance with local/State/Federal leasing laws and even evictions, if it comes to that. Every few years, I am responsible to arrange for the City Inspection, something that is required for all rentals in Wyoming, but they could probably do that as well.
With the 90% we receive, we are able to make our house payment and maintain the property, but not much more. Maybe I should raise the rent every year, to keep up with current market prices, but I'm not good at doing that. In 2035 the house will be paid off, then we will definitely have it as a source of passive income, which we will use to buy another property.
Access PM Group has their own maintenance team to handle emergency calls from the tenant and do small jobs, like changing HVAC filters or troubleshooting other issues. They will even arrange for contractors to come in to do professional repairs, notifying me if the repair is going to exceed $300. All repair costs are taken from the monthly settlements, so it is a "hands off" kind of business for me. I have very little direct contact with the tenant.
My wife and I plan to purchase another property or two before retirement. Property values trend upward, and rent goes up with inflation, so they are a great "Growth and Income" type of investment. We will definitely be calling Access PM Group when we add more properties. For now, we just have the one rental home, but Access PM Group treats us like we are they best and most important client. This deserves no stars. Honestly I love the idea of having the "Self Showing". But when you call to schedule a show it takes you to an automotive system (Which is standard) it prompts you to put in the street address to connect you (Cool) but when you put the address it just loops you back to the same automated system over and over again asking you to put in the address. So ok, maybe their phones are down? I hop on the website again. There is a link on the property description to schedule the showing online. Cool. I clink the link..... It takes me to THE SAME description and page I am currently looking at with NO option to schedule a tour. I am super frustrated at this point. I start googling their numbers and scavenging for a number to talk to someone to schedule a tour. (I should have taken the hint at this point but I loved the apartment) I finally get a live person. YEAY. The guy schedules my tour. I ask the guy how do I follow up after the tour if I have more questions? He says well "We're really busy. We have only 1 day a week we allow walk in (no idea what that is supposed to mean) he says were so busy answering phone calls all day the best would be to email." Is this guy serious? He gave me no way to follow up with anyone personally. He just told me to email the general email off the site. (Because the website has been working so well thus far) so anyway I see the place. Love it. The add on this site says pet friendly. Awesome. I have a pet. Everything is perfect. I follow up with them the next day Via the website email he told me about. The unit is available a little earlier than I would like so I Ask if they have anything else coming available in that complex. They tell me "That is the only unit we manage" so out of an entire apartment complex they are in charge of only 1 apartment??? Makes no sense. SO I asked what is the name of the property is and how do I get ahold of them? The literally never replied. SOO back to google. I FINALLY FOUND the property site and get a hold of a live person in charge of this complex just for them to tell me that THEY DO NOT ALLOW PETS!!!!! SSOOOOO needless to say this website and this company is horrible and if you are looking for someone to sell your rental or looking for a rental DO NOT trust these guys. This place is a joke.
I rented from Access for the last year at Union Square Condos. From the get-go, Eddie and team have been helpful and immediately responsive - even going out of their way to make sure that my needs were met. A year ago I decided to rent a property that I owned. It was a big decision for me as this was a property that was lived in by my family and I did not want the property to become just a rental. I interviewed at least three companies in the area and after I met Eddie from Access PM the decision was easy. A level headed ex-marine with property management experience and a solid company to back him. Access Property Management made renting easy and gave me the confidence to consider renting a second property. The property was rented within a week of listing. We hired Access in 2014 and have been very pleased with their service. Today they manage 9 of our rental units in Heritage Hill and now 2 new units in the NW Grand Rapids city market. We are very pleased with their professional management style, well-organized monthly and annual financial reports and frequent communications.

A superb property management company with a fantastic team behind it. I used them for many years without even a single negative incident. They event went out of their way, far out of their normal geographic range, to help and support me with other properties without even asking for or expecting any compensation. During the sale of my property through a third party, they were there at every step to assist however they could. They filled my property with good tenants I don't recall them ever leaving it vacant for more than two weeks. That's quite remarkable. I really couldn't ask for much better service than what I got from APM.
