**FURNITURE BUYERS BEWARE**. Prices on the furniture items are for floor models only. If you need to purchase extra quantities the price will go up to what ever the current manufacturer MSRP price is and accents + interiors will not honor their advertised price marked on the floor. We had agreed to buy two chairs left credit card information and then called us back 2 days later noting the price had increased and only the single chair on the floor was at that price.
Staff is rude and not willing to budge on the sale. Spend your time and money elsewhere.

I have been going to this store for years and I do have to say up front I love the items the store sells. Very unique and a great place to shop for gifts etc. However, the sales staff is extremely unfriendly and act as though I am a bother any time I go in the store. They rarely greet you when you walk in and would rather stand behind the counter and chat. I have walked around the store with my arms overflowing and no one bothers to ask if they could lay the items on the counter for me. It's very unfortunate because as I stated before the things they sell are really unique and fun, but I have to decide if it's worth the rude staff or not. This is not a rare occurrence and I have other friends and family who have expressed the same opinion as mine.
This store has many great gift ideas but too much emphasis on candles. Small selection of furniture which was way overpriced. Small selection of cute clothing.
I visited the store one time to see what it was about! A lot of cool and different items for gifts! I was very surprised about how rude the staff was and they never greeted me when I came in the store! No one asked me if I needed help! So I just walked out the store bc I didn't feel very welcomed! Right before Christmas I had break from the salon I work at! The store is very close to he salon and I decided to give it one more try! Again I was never greeted but I was asked by this very rude lady if I was finding everything ok! She scared me so I just walked away and never bought a gift! I came back the salon and start telling my clients and my co workers my experience and I wasn't the only talking about how rude the and unfriendly the staff was! Everyone loves the store and the items but hate going into the store bc it feels very cold and unviting to shop in!
A really unique shopping experience! I always find the best gifts for everyone there. Including gifts for myself! Very nice staff that always goes out of their way to help me!
I would rate this a zero star review if it gave me the option. I love shopping locally but what I don t appreciate are rude store representatives. First off, my husband and I went into this store last month and purchased two accent chairs. They had the Maxwell lounge chair in mocha available on the floor listed for $1149. We needed two. I called and gave them my credit card info on Monday to pay for the chairs. On Wednesday afternoon, a sales lady, I ll leave her name out, calls me and says I need to pay an additional $100. I said I was confused as to the price difference between Monday when we ordered and why they were just now submitting the order. She said we needed two and they needed to be cut from the same cloth. These were not special order chairs either. No different than ordering a stock piece off the floor at homemakers. Anyhow, the gal said I was aloud to purchase the chair on the floor for $1149 but the second chair would cost me $1200 as the price went up. And again, I explained I shouldn t be responsible for the difference as this is what they advertised their floor price as. NO WHERE in the store is it posted that prices are SUBJECT TO CHANGE and the customer is responsible for the difference if a MSRP price changes from their vendor. NO WHERE. The gal rudely told me twice well that s the price and I can cancel your order. So I had my husband call. She had no interest in selling the chairs and no interest at all in being friendly and accommodating, the same rude treatment we received instore. Needless to say, there are several other vendors nationally that sell this chair and thank goodness we have the Internet because I was able to purchase TWO chairs for $826 a piece, same brand and same color even though this vendor offered a Carmel color as well PLUS free shipping. Saved LOTS of money so for that I am thankful. I have had great service from some amazing locally owned stores these past few months but I will NEVER be back to Accents + Interiors and suggest all other buyers beware. Scope the store out if you must BUT definitely check the Internet before spending your cash with them. For the record from the previous review listed by my husband and the stores response, designers aren t responsible for a stores policies and procedures, especially when they re not posted publicly. A designer brings in business and should be respected and appreciated for that. How dare you not take responsibility for your store actions. Shame on you.
I love this place. They have the most unique items and awesome selection. If only I could get over there more often. It's a MUST stop for anyone looking for a great gift, a unique piece for their home, art work, etc, etc.. I could go on and on. My only recommendation would be to open a shop in West Des Moines :)
I recently began working near this store and have stopped in on 5 occasions in the past 6 months. It is a large gift type store: dishes, candles, cards, and a bit of furniture. I always leave empty-handed because the staff acts like I am completely invisible. I have had them walk right past me and not even acknowledge me. I am continually astonished & find it very uncomfortable. It's as if I am an uninvited guest in someone's home. Their inventory is not THAT unique, and can be purchased online which is what I will do instead of support such a snooty retail environment.
