If you're looking for a good steak, Abe and Louie's is the place. Excellent cuts and pairings. I ordered the prime ribeye and it was perfect. Side dishes were great and the vibe was overall pleasant and sophisticated. Will definitely come back

I was there for a Valentine's dinner many years ago..I had to say it was fantastic.

Took my wife here on 12/1 for her 50th birthday. We had an 8:30 reservation and arived around 8:00 and we were told our table won t be ready until close to 8:30. We headed to the bar to get a drink while we wait for our table. This is were the night went down hill fast. As I approached the bar, which was busy, I patiently waited my turn to order drinks. One bartender was waiting on customers while the other one stood at the end of the bar socializing. The bartender that was busy looked at me and said in a rude and demeaning manner if you need a drink, go ask him, he s doing nothing but talking . If it wasn t for it being my wifes birthday I would ve walked out right then and there. Now two weeks later, I really regret that I didn t just leave and find another place to eat.

We were a larger party celebrating a special occasion and were given a great table . We ordered three starters for the table, all of which were excellent. Then we ordered different cuts of meat, and we had a number of sides that were shared. Everyone was very happy with the meat, and the sides tasted great, especially the lobster mac & cheese. The big letdown, however, was the service. I didn't get what I ordered and our server was absent a lot.

Pricey yes but also delicious. They make you feel very welcome. The crabcake Benedict is so good. The clam chowder was amazing. It's classy so you may wanna wear something nicer.

Unless I'm just really spoiled by Texas and California, but the bone-in ribeye here was pretty small. It tasted fine. I have no palate so I can't say anything about the wine aside from that it seemed okay. The sides were okay. Pretty sure we got the sides that were shareable size but they came in a tiny dish nonetheless and there was not a lot (I sound like such a size queen. Wait. I AM a SIZE QUEEN! lol crazy eyes**). The chocolate cake was big and so was the bill. Those were impressive. But for everything else, it just seemed lackluster.

Came here for a work function. Food was great and service was prompt. Looking forward to coming back on my own time.

1% -- take heed; Abe & Louie are calling. It's a steakhouse -- so, do what you gotta do, and order some delicately-prepared beef, then chat about the length of boat you're planning to purchase. Highlights: Petite Filet Mignon, Blue Cheese Mashed Potatoes, Lobster Mac & Cheese, Eggs Benedict (3-Way), Key-Lime Pie, Swordfish Chop (Call in advance to reserve -- cut from the collarbone, glazed w/soy + ginger and broiled).

From the moment you enter that restaurant the waiters give you a good feeling. Very friendly team, it is a lovely restaurant to to go out with your friends or with your date. enjoyable food, creative chef de cuisine, honest cost and generous service. Warmly recommended.

Abe & Louie's was a spot that was mentioned as a "must go to spot" in Backbay. I for one was not impressed (based off my personal dining experience.) The Hostess was friendly and directed accordingly. My Waitress started off rude then eventually came around. The appetizer and sides were nothing to rave about but the NY strip and the Red Blend (Waitress recommended) was the highlight of the night.

really good steak house, the demonico was amazing, the F. M was good, the mash potatoes was good, even the sword fish was good. tge soup of the day was beef veggies and was really good.

Great dinner overall but bring back the bread pudding!

The food was amazing. I gave it a 2 star due to service.

Everyone was helpful except our waiter. We had to ask for utensils from another waiter. That waiter also noticed we didn't get any bread and asked if we wanted some and we said yes.

I also order a dozen oysters and received only 1. When we brought it up the the waiter, he told the manager and the manager came and asked if we wanted a salad to make up for the missing oyster. Didnt do his due diligence to fix the situation. Especially when they charge $20 for a half a dozen and we were missing one.

I used to love coming here but after this, I'm all set. There are a lot of other places to eat besides here.

The place is small so get there early or eat during off peak hours. Its hidden away in the back of the shop. Food options are somewhat few in june lake area. This place was a gem. Loved my food and the people who work here were very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was great!

I had a business lunch here and enjoyed one of the circular booths in the front of the restaurant, not quite close enough to the street, but a great location to people-watch inside the restaurant. Service is speedy, the rolls served with your meal are delicious and the filet mignon and tomato salad is top notch. A bit pricey (as expected) but a good experience.

I had a New York Steak 12oz - $38. It was very tasty and good portion. I also had a cup of New England Calm Chowder which was okay. But over all it was really good lunch and will go back again.

I tried this place once with my friend and I am hooked ever since. I liked the good character and delightful dishes and beverages. Highly recommended.

In one word - exceptional. Not only that Abe & Louie's has one of the best bone-in ribeye steaks I ever had, but the ambiance and decor of the place really bring out the beat of fine a fine dining experience. I celebrated my birthday there today and had a wonderful time. From the amazing appetizers, through the exquisite wine selection and up until the perfect temperature steak, we were in awe of this venue. It made it even better that the service, and particularly our waiter, was phenomenal. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone who wants to enjoy a good steak in this magnificent city.

Classic steak house with a somewhat relaxed atmosphere. The service is always on point and the food is consistently good. The menu isn't too innovative or exciting but if you just want a classic good meal you can't really go wrong with anything.

I have eaten here at least 10 times for bunch, lunch and dinner, and can't say I have ever had a bad experience which is a rarity.

Good but not great food. Expensive. Servers have very annoying habit of trying to clear dishes which were far from done. Didn't understand especially since there were many empty tables.

I know going to a steak house and ordering seafood isn t the smartest idea, but if you re spending good money I would assume that the seafood would be cooked with care. The scallops and shrimp risotto was over cooked and chewy. Also the breading on the shrimp was soggy and broke up in the mouth. Wish I had ordered a steak because my partner s filet was melt in the mouth..... The sides green beans were delicious but the creamed spinach was so salty it was almost inedible.

Fabulous from appetizer to dessert! We came on a Saturday night and arrived a half hour before our reservation so we could get drinks at the bar. Crowded but we only had to wait a couple minutes for our drinks and the bar staff was friendly. We will definitely visit here again!

This place totally lives up to the hype. Amazing food and service and just made a memorable anniversary celebration with friends that much more special. Just wish we had had room for dessert as they all sounded really delicious! Prime rib, brussels sprouts, potatoes au gratin, bacon appetizer, and the butternut squash and scallops appetizer were all outstanding. Our waiter was friendly, funny, and informative.

I ve been here a good amount over the years and there s been no change over time. If you re looking for down the middle steak house experience in boston this works. The reason I m giving it 2 stars instead of 3 is the last 2 times I ve been in the staff continues to get less friendly. Last time I asked to pay for a friends meal and I was told no a few times and then when I finally gave my info they never used it to pay for the meal. So many new spots popping up around boston. I d try one of those first.

The most tender steak I've had in Boston by far! And the service was phenomenal. Many thanks to the waiter for accommodating our food allergies with grace!

Abe & Louie's is in the business of selling experience not a service. From the moment you enter the restaurant to the minute you come out you have the impression that everything was tailored to make you feel special. The reviews do not do justice to this place and the amazing employees who work there. They go above and beyond to respond to all your demands. I do not remember the name of my server but he was the most polite and amazing person I have met. I came in expecting a certain type of service based on the reviews and I was happily surprised by the quality of the perceived service. All aspects of the service quality dimensions are met: responsiveness (waited less than 25 minutes total for our meals including our steak to be served) - Tangibles ( the place is spotless including the bathrooms and being constantly sanitized)- almost stole the one on our table, smelled divine - Empathy (Our server engaged in conversations with us, helped with the menu, made suggestions on how/what to choose and pairing, made pleasant jokes and made us feel comfortable). It was a beautiful and pleasant night while enjoying good foods. We had the bone-in aged prime ribeye, mashed potatoes, grilled asparagus, creamed spinash, Prosecco, tea and water. Too full for dessert. If you are looking for a nice ambiance and a great place to eat, it's definitely the right location to go.

The lamb chops were soooooo juicy. I warmed them up the next day and they were still juicy. Yummmiiiee
