Nice airport and a beautiful city, nice immigration officers
Nice airport and a beautiful city, nice immigration officers
Very friendly staff, which is rare enough at airports to be highlighted.
Very large airport, cleanliness of the toilets and the space duty free zone at the top !!!
great airport with a lot of dining options before and after security and specially near the international side.
Super I loved to be my first adventure abroad I was treated super well
Over the past 15 years, Dorval Airport has experienced a lot of expansion. There have been additions to destinations, particularly international ones, as well as an increase in the frequency of flights in the last 10 years. This expansion is evident by congestion on the tarmac or on the roads, by a lack of check-in counters and boarding gates. The boarding of certain flights takes place far from the terminal during peak summer periods which results in a lack of organization in terms of operations. In addition, the waiting time at security points and customs continues to increase year after year. The authorities try to keep the terminal modern and up to current standards, however, certain parts of it, especially at the gates for departures of regional flights, the age of the terminal appears. Unfortunately for the moment there is no train connecting the airport and the decision to transfer all international flights from Mirabel to Dorval was very bad and regrettable. Mirabel Airport had room for this expansion and could therefore support it if it had a station and the terminals would be much better designed for the fluidity of air traffic. Dorval airport is reaching its maximum capacity and soon we will have to return to Mirabel once again.
Dorval airport in Montreal had expand a lot over the past 15 years. It got many flights from overseas the past 10 years. This expensation get obvious with often congestion on the tarmac or on the roads, lack of check in desk and boarding gates, some boardings are done off terminal during the peak summer times and a lack of organization regarding the operations. Also it the waiting time for customs clearance and security checks is increasing year after year. The authorities are trying to keep the terminal modern and up to date for today's standards, however some parts mostly to the gates for regional flights the terminal shows its age. Unfortunatly there's no train that connects the airport yet and the decision to transfer all the international flights from Mirabel airport to Dorval was a bad and a regretable one. Mirabel airport had room to expand and cope with a lot of flights if the authorities would build the train station. Also the terminal at Mirabel would be better design for today's air traffic. Dorval airport is reaching its maximum capacity for the flights and they would need to reopen Mirabel again.
Bad weather in Montreal, flights delayed. Ground deice crews. EXTREMELY slow. I've traveled all over the world, this is the slowest service of any place I have been to. I'm guessing they have a union.
Own organized and even you can print the ticket before the time to remake the luggage. Simply good airoport. There are restaurants for all tastes.
Long queues even for correspondence, Canada Customs, oufff .. !! We arrive from Washington, Strait and Chicago and have never been searched like that ... And they are arrogant ..!
The indications are not very clear and you have to walk a long way to get to the terminals.
Wifi never works here at Montreal airport. I have been here almost every month in 2018, couple of times in 2017 and 2016. This creates a little trouble for the travelers who don't have data access from their carrier. I hope that whoever is incharge look at it.
Great airport for years, great and friendly service, multitude of shops and no tax, easy to get around. Do not blame the airport for your airline misadventures and I never had an issue with Nexus ;)
The Montreal airport is good, it's just waiting time for the check-in which was long. But for the rest it was ok
Not very practical, the choice of new furniture is really bad and frankly put a mosque without a door between a relaxation area and the Java Cafe is quite unexpected .. result you take your coffee and you can realize that the staff of the airport (only) comes to pray in addition to hearing "Allah akbar" since there is no door ... I imagine that it is paid by the airport taxes of all then a door would be maybe appropriate no? I do not have any problem with any religion but having to hear that before getting on the plane bothered me a lot
Endless expectations of cabin baggage control systems: If you have the misfortune to ring at the gantry (ok it can happen but at home it's more than other airports) then you will wait while your belongings will be available to all those who have already passed, thankfully my girlfriend was there to prevent an opportunist thug to use! (and no reaction from the authorities!)
Incidentally if you have oversized luggage, their control passes through standard devices which requires disassembly since it is oversized (while it is the dimensions prescribed by the company) ... I also had all the trouble in the world to to make them leave one of my objects that was stuck in their machines!
On the way back, also expect the world's longest time in the customs and their greatest contempt and bad mood, especially if you are English-speaking (I saw a poor American student who spoke little French burst into tears at the customs officer's questions: why do not you come here? There are no universities in your country? They are not as good as in Canada? There is no money to finance American universities? etc ... all this in French of course!) ... a shame
Airport well served by public transport. Not big enough.
People who are giving this airport 5 stars have never been anywhere else.
Buying a sandwich is almost equally to a robbery if you want a drink as well you almost need a second mortgage on your house. All the menus are in French (while in the rest of Canada it s in both languages).
The walk to the international terminal is long.
Seats are oke but not comfy. Wifi sucks.
It s clear we are in French speaking territory again...
Very well structured airport. There are restaurants, snack shops, and eletroportateis in the landing area. The uber boarding is on the first floor! It has floriculture. You can take a bus and go to the subway station. One weakness is that access to the internet is only possible through social networking (facebook or LinkedIn).
Everyone has a bad airport story, and I certainly had one here over the holidays, but YUL and Air Canada staff were super friendly and helpful communicating updates on our much delayed departure.
When you want to pick up someone, make sure that the person is waiting ON THE SIDEWALK!
I recovered my friend yesterday (who was going out) and I had to negotiate with the 4 security agents (the first says ok, stop but the next to de-responsibility, then the others want to know anything) while there was absolutely nobody.
The last one tells me that I can not stop, and when I open the chest he tells me to close it and go back.
When he saw my friend waiting he said to hurry me up.
It is the same to put the GPS, according to them is better to do it while driving than parking ...
I took my first airplane in 2013 with Airtransat to go in France. Great experience and great services.
I flew for the first time with Airtransat in 2013 for going to France in the land of my ancestors.
The airport leaves a lot to be desired. The construction work seem to take forever and never fisnish
Very disappointing and lack-lustre airport. Restaurant and food choices very limited especially for the main international airport for Montreal.
The experience is getting better with time! The wait time at security really improved over the last year. Lounges and restaurants have improved as well
Terrible ac, super humid and hot. Airport is the dirtiest airport I've seen in Canada. Transit area had garbage strewn all about. 747 bus is disgusting. Why does a city bus cost $10? Just gouging local travellers, who have few choices.
An aging and sad airport but gaining some warmth with the staff. Many USB charging plugs no longer work and it's a shame not to have a place dedicated to rest for long stops. It is very noisy and not at all relaxing.
Bad service luggage they laught at us 1 hrs and still waiting
IF you want to take a plane to go somewhere, it's not bad. The employees of the various shops are on average quite ordinary, but that's not really why we go to Dorval ...
One of the better airports in North America. The car parking situation is a whole different story. The parking is in a dire situation.
23$ for an hour plus of parking?? Might as well steal my tv out of my house....
Remodelled airport... Quite an improvement on what it used to be.
Definitely need better and cheaper access to downtown Montreal though.
Arrivals look very bad for people who meet. No monitors to see actual arrival time. People wait at the street, inhale cigarettes smoke. Nobody cares that this is non-smoking area. Parking is 39 cad for few hours. It could be less expensive during this time.
The few electrical outlets are like watering holes for wild animals. Everyone congregate around them and you can almost see people getting into fights over the precious outlets that become available. The shops are nothing fancy and the food choices here are pretty bad.
This is a pretty good airport. Not as fancy as some but it is nicer than many others I have been to.
Needs better access. Train public transit need to be better accessible here
I wish to thank the customer service they did a great favour thank you
Ridiculously slow. Will never fly through here again. They can t get the planes organized to take off on time, no concern for those of us to catch connecting flights. Awful.
What to say ... A fairly modern airport where we take daily flights without more, let's say you take your flight and this is the most important.
It's really fast when you get to the airport. It is well indicated.
Excellent staff at West Jet, very friendly and helpful. Got me through the check in quickly. The screening and security was very fast. I give it 5 star's. La Belle Provence. God Bless this place for sure.
Very nice airport, and very fast to pass the customs
Very poor organization of staff especially at customs level
this review is for royal jordanian airlines.
terrible terrible.
came from beirut and could not find my luggage. they gave me a number to call and an email address, no one answers the emails, no one answers the calls. 2 weeks after they tell me they found my luggage and they will send it home, it was someone elses. after 2 weeks finally found it and was all damaged. refused to compensate me for the necessities i bought while waiting for my luggage and didnt compensate for the damaged baggage. avoid at all costs, lots of bad reviews on facebook. in flight services were horrible by rude waitresses, and insufficient food
Arguably the worst airport I ve ever been to. Spent nearly an hour sitting in a plane waiting for take off while they were doing nothing. Poor service, poor communication. -5 Stars. Also you have to constantly reconnect to the wifi every 5 minutes if you wanna glance at an email.
Very prompt baggage reclaim and immigration. Staff v helpful and bus to downtown Montreal did exactly what it said on the tin.
Well organized welcoming staff not really courteous
Well liked my beautiful airport experience though for one for someone who comes for the first time the information is not always clear and well indicated. For departure as for arrival
It is secure, health security measures are respected. It is one of the most beautiful and safest airports in the world.
The changes are unfortunately very lengthy and cost a lot of time and patience.
Overall a great airport... The people working at the desks and at security can be rude sometimes.
Very large airport with some very nice individual. I was very impressed how the customer did not lose my stupid question. Thank you Pierre Elliot Trudeau!
It is clear for the price of its airport taxes (sometimes 80% of the ticket) this airport is horrible, difficult to access by public transport and the TVs that broadcast stultifying ads is clearly the foutage mouth! ! In short I hate this airport and I say shame to their leaders !!
Ordinarily a very busy airport, but rather quiet during the COVID-19 pandemic. I have to give the airport props for properly screening people coming in and handling everything professionally. Unfortunately a lot of the businesses located in the airport are closed, but those that ARE open are up to their usual standards. Traveling through this airport is a breeze, if you have just a little bit of patience and courtesy.
Great pole of entry of exit in Quebec and more particularly in Montreal. Large, world-class international airport serving all regions and almost every country in the world. On site, there are many services such as bus lines to go to the cities of Quebec City, Ottawa and elsewhere. There is also the bus 747 which allows to go in the center of Montreal. There are also many taxi and uber. There are ATMs, money exchange offices. There are also many restaurants and fast food. The staff on site is very courteous.
Excellent spacious airport but there are many car parks difficult to find the perfect home place very good memory for me at the top
One of the cleanest airports in the Western World for sure! But I'm afraid I'll never like its name... Ruins everything.
A big bouhhhh for traffic officers who are particularly disrespectful verbally with motorists who request information. I understand that they must do their job, but with respect please !!! Sarcasm is unacceptable.
