We haven't had the opportunity to stay here yet. I'm looking forward to the day we do! However I called to ask if they do horseback riding for those who aren't guests. Which they don't. But my experience talking with the staff was exceptional! They went above and beyond to give me ideas of other local places that might be what I was looking for. If we didn't already have our cabin booked I would 100% stay here based off the customer service alone.

The 4UR has become a family tradition for us the last 12. It is a trip we all look forward to each year. After owning a small resort in Belize for several years I learned that the 3 most important things to our guest was a good bed and room to stay in, good food , and most importantly good activity programs. The 4ur has it all. Your bed and room are very comfortable , the food is world Class (even though we stay very active I always gain a pound or 2), and the activities are outstanding. The fishing is as good and probably better than anywhere I have been. Goose creek is managed very well. I have had many 20-30 fish mornings over the years. I don't ride horses a lot but there horse program is spectacular. They offer trap and skeet shooting , guided hikes, and much more. They also have a great kids program that all our children grew up doing.Everybody there from the General mgrs down will make you feel like you are the most important things they have to do. The 4UR is a world class guest ranch.

The 4UR has it all. With outstanding dining, jaw-dropping views, remarkable hospitality and so much more, the 4UR will instantly become your happy place -- your home away from home.

It s easy to do a review. You just need an opinion and a soapbox. When I listen to or read someone s opinions I want to know what combination of knowledge and experience allows them to hold forth on a given topic. I figure you deserve to know a bit about who I am and what experience I bring to the table. Over the years my wife and I have fished many of the great rivers of North America and British Columbia: Henry s Fork, Colorado, The Blue, Elk, Madison, Gallatin, Missouri, Blackfoot, Sacramento, The Fall, South Fork of the Snake, Silver Creek, Yellow Breeches, Letort, Big Wood, St. Mary s, Skookumchuck, Coeur d Alene, and the St. Joe, to name the biggies. We have also stayed at many fine fishing resorts, lodges and B&B s associated with these waters. I have been a guest at the 4UR for over 50 years, starting in the summer of 1963 with my parents. My wife and I have been regulars for too many years to count, since 1977. I have seen the 4UR through two ownerships and several ranch managers. It has always held a special place in my heart from the beginning but especially under the current ownership and management. Every year they make improvement to the infrastructure, the fishing, the accommodations, the food, and the staff. It is a work in progress that continues to get better and better. Hundreds of thousands of dollars in capital improvements over the years are apparent. The word idyllic may sound pretentious, but I can assure you, it fits. Quite simply, the catch and release fishing is great. Mel Krieger called Goose Creek one of the best trout streams in North America. The key is miles of private fishing on Goose Creek, and the RioGrande. The terrain runs from secluded, shaded willow habitat, to open meadows and then steep box canyons. What more could you want! If you are a seasoned veteran or new to the sport, striking out on your own is a piece of cake. However, 4UR has experienced, professional guides ready to assist you find the secret lairs of the big fish that lurk there. Let me say that one more time Big, Wild trout! Got it! I could go on and on about the food and accommodations. Suffice to say we have never stayed at a more comfortable place or eaten better food. nuff said. We are not regular horseback riders, but those who are will find one of the finest and professionally run and safe equine experiences for adults and children of all ages. The daily childrens programs are a parents dream. Professional, responsible counsellors will provide your kiddos an experience they will never forget. It is not uncommon to see several generations of ranch guests return year after year. And now we come to the staff. This is what makes the 4UR so unique, the people. From the owners in residence, who truly understand the meaning of stewardship to the ranch managers, wranglers and their families who love the 4UR as much as the guests, you won t find a finer bunch of people. They make a very special place all the more unique, enjoyable and, special. So, there you have it.

The 4UR Ranch has created special memories for our family. After our first visit 12 years ago, we rebooked for the next year and have continued each year since. Our 3 children had a blast in the kids program in the first few years and have since developed a passion for the 4UR's fishing, riding, shooting and hiking. The Ranch has miles of great trout water to fish right on the property. The scenery is stunning, the meals are excellent , and the service is top notch. It's not surprising that the 4UR has a high level of repeat guests. 4UR is a home away from home!

I've been coming to the 4UR every summer since I was a toddler. My father and grandmother taught me how to fish on Goose Creek, which is a very special private tailwater stream full of wild trout. I also learned how to ride horses at the 4UR. The ranch is surrounded by pristine and secluded national forest trails, which you can explore with the very knowledgeable 4UR wranglers at any pace you're comfortable with. They'll teach you how to lope across beautiful montane meadows if you want! 4UR has something for everyone -- incredible views, nice people, amazing fishing, riding, and hiking, and exceptional food. If you have the chance to spend some time here, do it!!!

This place is so wonderful. The staff and owners are what make this place 5 star. The property is incredible. There is so much to do there. Also, the food is insanely good. The Chef really knows his dishes and flavor. I would go here just for the food . Seriously, out of all my travels, I love coming back here! It is 5 star all the way around!

For our family the 4 UR Ranch is much more than a guest ranch tucked into the scenic mountains along the banks of the Rio Grande River. The 4UR is our family oasis for one week each summer where we all gather from our scattered locations across the country. It has been our little slice of heaven since we first visited in 1998. It is where we all put down our phones and devices and pick up a fly rod, a book, or go for a day long horseback ride. It is a place where countless memories have been made over the many summer visits. It is a place where our now grown children, still insist, is their favorite vacation location...ever. We joke that once we check into the ranch on a Saturday afternoon, there is no reason to leave the ranch until the following sad Saturday when it is time to go home. We only have to decide how to spend day ahead; do we don waders, a swimsuit, hiking boots or a cowboy hat. The 4 UR Ranch is truly a magical experience.

Our family had one of the best trips to date. 4UR is excellent in all categories. Friendly to newcomers but it says a lot that more than 80% of folks are return customers. This makes for a culture of customers who become fast friends and feel like family. The fly fishing is great for newcomers and veterans alike.
