What a gem!! Stumbled across it on an evening out and what a find, beautiful restaurant lovely atmosphere and superb food we had sea bass and fish pie both to die for. Due to time restraints we didn't have starter or desert but found the main courses reasonably priced but at twice the price would have been worth it

Service was excellent. I had the Persian stew, which was delicious. My companion ordered medium steak, but it came rare (but was still tasty). Only criticism I would have is that the sound in the restaurant really travels around the room, which can make it hard to hold a conversation.

Updating my previous review. Early bird menu has improved greatly. The soup was excellent if a bit off on temperature. I had the charbroiled chicken which was cooked to perfection but the overpowering tomato based sauce and weak garnish limited my enjoyment somewhat. Overall it's a decent place with acceptable food and good service.

Good as always. In a hurry for theatre and we served quickly by a very friendly and effeciant server.
She well advised us re serving times. So we chose wisely guided by her advise.

I had the three course special which was all excellent (goats cheese bon bons, pork cutlet & poached peach dessert). Staff were friendly and efficient despite the restaurant being fairly busy - will definitely be back.

The discreet entrance on a tourist shopping street doesn't do this place justice, as it is a gem of a restaurant. We went on a Saturday early evening with some friends, and both the service and food were great. We'll worth a visit.

Really is a hidden little gem of a restaurant! Really superb menu with something for every palate! The Pork Belly is unbelievably good! What makes 101 Talbot really special though is the really brilliant staff! Phenomenal service; wonderful attention to detail and it all creates a wonderful warm welcoming atmosphere! It really deserves support so give yourself a real treat and book a table now! Say hello if you see me!

Service is friendly and brisk. Came for the early bird menu. Two courses for 23.

Chose the rocket and mozzarella starter. Ok .

Mains chicken and roast potatoes with selection of vegetables. Again ok.

Side plates were whisked away after first course. Restaurant is clean and tidy.

Loos are accessed by pressing a switch near the exit that controls a lock on the loo doors. Could be tidier.

Great staff very attentive, yummy food. Cold around window seating. Steps sooooooo dangerous, worst I have ever seen in any restaurant. Maybe some lighting or clever signs around them..

Dreadful food and definitely not good value. We visited on the 4th of January 2020 after it was recommended to us but unfortunately we were very disappointed. Sorry guy's but you need a new chef. It's the chef who really gets the clientele back.

Great food! Super Service! Fair prices!
We really liked it. Inconspicuous from the outside, as on the first floor. Very nicely decorated. We had steak and mantar. Both were delicious. I also loved the side dishes. The service was great. The atmosphere is casual. I absolutely recommend the 101 Talbot.

Fabulous good..OMG.. Pork belly and swordfish done to perfection.. Definitely go here after going to The Abbey for an evening meal. Comfortable and casual.. It's upstairs so don't walk by it.. Definitely worth the climb.

There is really nothing to complain about here! I rarely say that, but my lamb's hip really came very close to perfection! Delicious fresh vegetables, wonderful flavors. Even my companion, the meatballs in vegetable chili had, was very pleased! In addition, really moderate, local prices!
That was really good !!!! Actually, 6 out of 5 stars!

Great

Had the opportunity to dine here with my two sons. We had the stuffed chicken breast, fish pie, and pork belly, all of which were fantastic. Two of these items were on the Earlybird menu, so we also enjoyed hummus and buffalo mozzarella starters. The food was perfect, and the wait staff was attentive and very friendly. Highly recommend this place for tourists who want a quiet, high quality meal, away from the more boisterous crowds.

One of the best restaurants in Dublin! The service is always fantastic and the staff are genuinely nice people. You get the sense that there is real pride in what they are doing there. The food is fantastic! Starters of Crab Balls and the 101 Summer Salad were devoured. The Sea Bream main was easily one of -if not the best fish dish - I have ever had. Full of flavour with the beetroot and ginger salsa, and the chorizo with it was brilliant. My partner had the Chicken Schnitzel with new potatoes and loved it. And if you're looking for desert, look no further than the Chocolate and Hazelnut Brownie (whole hazelnuts worked through) or the Sticky Toffee Pudding (a truly fantastic toffee sauce here and I'm picky about puddings!). Considering how things are at the moment, 101 was more than worth the schlep into the city. We'll be back again very soon!

The food was quite good and the service was friendly. It did seem, however like either the maitre d' or the kitchen chef was a little inexperienced or strung out as someone in the background was stressing out the floor staff and this makes everyone uncomfortable.

The entrance needs to be cleaned up quite a bit, a lick of paint would do that & the signage should be improved greatly. The stairs need a rubber grip on rail for elderly & others who may need to a bit of help climbing stairs. The retro interior is nice enough & I actually liked it, my guest a designer hated it. I think it could be redone very inexpensively to belong more in 2018.
This restaurant was highly recommended to me even though the location might not be considered the best in terms of safety. I have no issues with its location & I am an elderly female.
The food was ok..not terribly Italian which I embraced as pasta is not high on my lists of likes.. Decent enough wine list by the glass & bottle.
My brother had the fish cake starter & he said it was lovely. We both had the pork loin with mash. Both dishes were barely warm & lacked flavour..so needed pepper...other than ground, no crushed pepper was available. The sauce was very nice but too little of it to make up for the blandness of our meal. Little or no interaction with staff once we were served, we had to get up & go to another table to get a ground pepper mill!
They have a 3 course set meal for 31. I should have taken advantage of it as by the time I paid for a coffee & the main course I could have had the set menue which brought desert with it!
With this said..I might go back as I think they can do really good food..Friday night might not be the time to go.

This is a hidden gem. Very deceiving from the outside, it's a lovely restaurant inside on the first floor of the building. Excellent service and tasty homemade food. I would go back again.

Careful environment, fast and friendly service. Excellent choice of dishes, from meat to fish. Average price of local restaurants, two entrees and one main dish per person including a Guinness and coffee you go to spend a head on 30/35 euros.
