The other reviews, and the confidence with which the staff assured me they could handle my Red Wing resole, convinced me to give them a try instead of going through the factory in Minnesota. Local is better, yes?

No.

I was told one week, given a slip, and sent on my way. I was called a week later, told they were ordering soles(?) and wouldn't get them for another two weeks. Doesn't make sense, but ok, I'll wait. They never called me again.

Three weeks later, no call, so I drop by. Boots are sitting on the table, disassembled, and clearly dusty from having sat there since, likely, the day they realized they didn't have the soles. Still had no soles, I was told they were "still thinking about them". No estimate for completion, no discernible urgency.

Fast forward a month, still no call, dropped by again, and boots were, if anything, dustier. Needless to say, I collected them. Soles gone, one shank intact, cork partially removed, missing insole, leather dry. I'll be fortunate if the factory would even accept the repair job.

I gave them a blank check and two months, and I got half my boots back.
