The hotel itself is lovely, and while sparse, the rooms are funky and clean. However, we were given a room on the third floor underneath the fitness center. The first night was fine, but the second night, someone decided to work out with free weights at midnight.
We were awakened by what sounded like bombs being dropped on the roof. We didn't know what it was, but when it continued for over 10 minutes, we called the front desk. They didn't know what it was, but sent security to investigate. The guard said he looked on the rooftop, but there aren't any rooms, only the pool and fitness center. We continued to be disturbed, but the guard couldn't find a cause. He told us that others complained, too, including someone on the floor below us!
After 1am, I called the front desk and asked to be allowed to sleep in a different room, but he said we would have to pack and move or pay for two rooms (he did offer to send someone to help us pack, but who wants a stranger packing your bags?). Only after I handed the phone to my husband did the front desk clerk agree to give us a key to sleep in a different room on the first floor and not charge us for an additional room. After I hung up, security called our room and said he found someone working out in the fitness center and asked him to leave. I don't know how that was missed when I first called at midnight.
The next morning we stopped at the front desk to ask for clarification about fitness center hours. They explained that it's available 24 hours a day, but after 8pm you must get the front desk to open the gym for you. We explained what happened the night before, and the clerk didn't seem to understand until we asked about being moved to another room or whether management knew what happened. Then she said everyone knew what had happened. She couldn't guarantee it wouldn't happen again, and she offered no explanation for why it took over an hour to get the noise identified and resolved the previous night.
Here's hoping that the remainder of our stay is better and that management might actually apologize for the poor service in getting the noise issue resolved.

Changed the review to 1 star because we mentioned again at the front desk that we'd never gotten an apology from management for the noise problem, and they said they'd let management know. We were there two nights after that and still received no apology.
The best part of the stay was the service from the concierge desk. Those guys were so friendly (especially David), and they could help you with anything.
