I have spent several summers in this place that I love, and I have taken numerous pictures for people to see. In the past, my pictures had a lot of views, but now it does not happen. Not that I think "my pictures" are the best, but when the organization like the HI New York City Hostel plasters the area with pictures that are all amazing Photoshop pictures, it shows that something is going on....a sense of insecurity, that institution needs to tell the story because as the guest, we are not doing correctly...which is wrong.
This platform is here for us the user to give honest review, so when I see a very Photoshop pictures of a place, I have the opposite reaction.
Yes, I know that Airbnb has eaten some of the number of guests coming to NYC, but the better policy will be to embrace us not to push us away, putting all the real pictures at the begining ..
Fear and consulting marketing comes with this tricks and manipulations, but the real truth is the opposite, let your customers tell the story, and then, you will have more customers.
I always, when suggesting corrections, bring the Starbuck Cafe organization because they are not only excellent at customer service, but they have also created a loyal follow up that like me buy their products all around the world.
By the way, I do not come to the HI New York City Hostel because it has favoulous rooms, or restaurants, I come because as a woman of certain age, when I drop my children in Summer Intensives in NYC, I like a place where people sit together to work in their computers with no special agenda.
If I want to be alone and have superb services, I will go to any hotel in town.
And as a matter of fact, this summer, I will go to an Airbnb with my family that comes from Argentina to visit.
So my question to HINYCH is what can you learn from Airbnb that is so attractive to people, and what can you apply to your organization? Because to move up, you do not need to push everybody down. What you need to do is bring everybody up with you. I am just saying...
