Crooks. Somehow they got hold of my postal address and when I returned from holidays, they'd sent me a final notice threatening legal action for a debt that wasn't mine! The deadline had well and truly passed by the time I received the letter. When I called them, they admitted their "mistake" and said they wouldn't pursue it... but I don't trust them. On advice from Consumer Action Law Centre, I have written to Recoveries Corp (via registered mail, so I have a record) requesting they confirm their mistake in writing, and will not take any action against me, and remove my details from their system. I've also written to Scam Watch and ABC TV The Checkout. Beware, people!
