I had high hopes for this company, but we couldn't...

I had high hopes for this company, but we couldn't even view the rental in order to move in. The only way to make an appointment (at least for the particular property I was looking at) is via texting, and I'm pretty sure it's just an automated system, not an actual person.

First of all, the available appointments are very limited and we had to wait two weeks before the next appointment since we couldn't make it to the first available one that was at an inconvenient time for us. We had to choose from a few options instead of mutually agreeing on a time that would work for everyone as you would do when talking to an actual person.

They couldn't meet after I got off of work, so I took time off of work to make it to the appointment, and then that morning right before the time I leave for work they canceled on us due to a scheduling conflict, even after confirming the appointment at like 6:30 in the morning. If it had been canceled at that time then I could have still made it to work on time. I was given the name and number for the agent we were going to be meeting with when the appointment was confirmed at 6:30 in the morning, so I called the agent and left a voicemail with my number, but never heard back.

We rescheduled another appointment for a few days later, and then the morning of that appointment it got canceled again due to another scheduling conflict, and we were given another appointment option for the following week. I called the company's number to try to talk to a person, but just had to leave a voicemail and never got called back. We decided to try rescheduling a couple more times to see if an appointment would ever work out, but it kept getting canceled so we finally gave up.

After the first cancelation I looked on the website and saw that the rental was no longer listed. I asked the texting service if it was still available and they said it was. After all the appointment cancelations I drove past the rental and saw that the for rent sign that had been there previously was gone. I think the unit must have already been rented by the time we first got canceled on, even though the appointment was confirmed earlier that morning.

While being strung along with the false hope of being able to view the unit, we missed out on other properties that could actually have worked out. If a company wants business they should use real people to talk to their clients instead of automated systems, as they can be very frustrating to the clients, especially if they aren't giving out accurate information and keeping their appointments. This disorganization is very bad for their business and I'm no longer interested in renting from the company unless they either make their texting service dependable or allow you to actually talk to a real person on the phone.

It's also a bad business practice to not return people's voicemails when they're trying to arrange an appointment and are trying to get in contact with someone. I'd be interested in giving this company another try if I could actually connect with someone on the phone and meet with an agent at an appointment right away, the way it is with most other companies/landlords. Until that happens I'll probably stick to other more dependable rental companies.
