A great hotel for staying in downtown Vancouver.

A great hotel for staying in downtown Vancouver.

The exterior of the hotel, the wallpaper, and doors betray the hotel's age, but Hyatt clearly kept the hotel up to date.

The bed is plush. The bathroom is updated with a smart, contemporary design featuring a full shower tub and spacious vanity.

There is an initial odd odor but goes away quickly once you turn the HVAC on for a few minutes.

The only downside is the parking. It's expensive, so unelss you really need your car, you probably don't want it. Talk to the front desk to figure out if it's more cost effective for you to use the hotel's rate or the lot's commercial rate.

If you don't know what to do nearby, I suggest visiting Stanley Park on a nice day. We rented a bike and easily made it around the entire park even though we're a bit out of a shape.

If you like food, especially Asian/Japanese, take a walk down Robson St and you'll have many options in 0.5 - 2km (0.5-1.5 mi).
