Review of Mayan Palace

Their time share sales are a little "Boiler Room" flavored. I'm pretty sure I seriously offended a whole team of sales people by politely declining to purchase their unbeatable offer (and I might be the direct cause of some of their children going hungry).
Mayan Palace is going through aggressive and (because of Mexican tax law) perpetual expansion. There is lots to do and see; lots of giant pools and great restaurants. It also means that walking from your room to the (oddly tiny) beach might require a serious expidition with good hiking shoes and a break for lunch.
If you're going to Cancun to visit the beach and relax, give this place a pass. If you're going to Cancun to experience a resort atmosphere with good food and good service, this place is fine.
